Peanut butter toast?
American Cheese (cheese product because it cannot be legally called cheese) is GROSS! I switched to cheddar slices ages ago.

Grocery list!
oatmeal, eggs, and Protein powder are staples for me. I like instant bean or broth-based soups too. Fresh fruit like bananas and apples are a must and canned pineapples are a favorite treat. OMG I almost forgot! Ground lean or white meat turkey is my holy grail. Its good for riceless stir-fry, meat loaf in a muffin tin Pasta sauce, sloppy Joe...u name it.

Letter of medical neccesity examples?
I dont have it on here but if you join the YahooBandsters Group they have templates that you can use to show your doc how to properly write one or just print it out and have the doc sign it. The Yahoo Bandsters insurance group has them too. Good luck!

Change in Period/ Menst. cycle
When I am losing weight, every month is something new...sigh.

Counseling/Therapy
Its so worth the extra hassle. The real reason for being overweight, the flood of post surgery hormones, and the weird-invasion-of-the-body-snatchers feeling are definately worth a deep discussion with a psych prior to surgery (so is continuing therapy after surgery imhop). Trust me, that first step is a doozie.

Peanut butter toast?
It sounds like a bad idea so soon out of surgery to test out Peanut Butter and toast together. I love both but both are iffy bandster foods, meaning some people have problems eating both together and separately. Both peanut butter and bread are sticky (toasted only makes it less sticky not unsticky) and can result in being stuck or PBing. Both are dangerous so soon out because the stitches on the stomach haven't fully healed. oatmeal with a dollop of peanut butter could be a nice alternative right now. I know you are sick of eggs (OMG so was I!) but maybe boiled egg or egg salad could work. If not, I think the recipes forum has recipes for the post surgical stages. I hope I could help, good luck on your journey!

Best Turkey bacon..?? anyone??
Loves chicken sausage! For people like myself, who dont eat mammals, poultry versions of mammalian favorites are the only way to go (unless you are a full veggie). Of course you have to be okay with eating a certain amount of processed foods.

Best Turkey bacon..?? anyone??
Butterball Thin and Crispy is great. It has lower calories per serving than any other that I have come across. And Ive been eating Turkey bacon for almost 16 years. chocolate Protein Shakes are good too.

Exercise PODCASTS
Thanks, but I have that one and I am desperate for a change. I love it though, I'm just looking for a non-running oriented podcast.

Every1's watchin what i eat & i hate it!
Ignore them. It stops. I think everyone who has had WLS has encountered this. Luckily people stop monitoring your eating and start minding there own when you're thinner than they are.

Exercise PODCASTS
Does anyone know of any fitness podcasts besides the C25K? I have the more hiphop version of the C25K also. Strength training, aerobics, yoga, anything will do.

Hey, New York City Partner? Where are you?
Although, I prefer to exercise alone at the gym, I like the idea of a NYC Lapband meetup group that focuses on fitness activities and common goals. The Parks Dept offers a range of free and low cost fitness venues and activites. Such as bouldering, sunset yoga, horseback riding, skating, etc. I hope some of these ideas can facilitate the process of gathering NY bandsters. Good Luck linking people up!

Bikram "Hot" Yoga
I haven't but a bandster from some time ago. Idr if she was on LBT or B2G (since I was on both back then) but here is the link for her journey and it links to her Bikram journey. She has since stopped blogging about weight loss and has become a Bikram teacher. Enjoy, I did. :: {she shrinks} ::

post your before & during/after pictures
So last weekend I took the best pic I've ever taken. I cannot find a problem with it at all, which is sort of awesome. I am totally in love with this image. <3 PS Yes I am posting this pic everywhere!

Twenties NSVs
Im so spoiled, I dont even register some of the changes when they happen. You guys all remind me how amazing this journey is, thanks. I have a couple: My skin is GREAT, even and blemish free! (brown girls know how ridiculously unheard of that is) I am complimented on it almost daily. My teeth look better in a slimmer face. They are jacked but look pretty straight. Weird but true. Proofs in the pic. No make-up except eyeliner and mascara.

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
I hope this isn't spamming the board but last weekend I took the BEST picture I have ever taken in my entire life so I want to share. Still 216lbs. In comparison:

Heat and workouts
Do it really early. Ive been on a self imposed bootcamp and have been getting in a hard 60mins every other day for a week all before 9am. Its awful but worth every minute. Make sure you are drinking more than enough. Thank goodness my off day is tomorrow. But I will be getting a workout in...at the POOL!

How did you come up with your user name?
I LOVE cookies and some of my favorites are Medel Chocolate Snaps. They are surprisingly not unhealthy. And SOOO GOOD.

From 316 lbs to 194 lbs in 10 months !!!
Wow! Congrats!

I wanna flat tummy
LauraP you look AMAZING! My belly looks just like your old belly except more brown! You give me hope that I wont need a circumferential lift! Question, maybe I missed this but...did your surgeon use stitches or glue? Your incision line is so neat (a huge deal to me) if he/she used stitches they are pretty invisible. Awesome work!

bodybugg or gowear fit
OMG! Thanks for this thread, Ive been looking for a way to get these last 20 or 30lbs off. I totally forgot about the BodyBugg! I haven't rewarded myself for all of my hard work, a Bugg or a GoWear Fit it may well be!
