Hi everyone! Just wanted to let everyone know....I am still alive. Did you miss me? lol I know it's been a while, a very long "while" since I posted. I have been so down about my band and not losing, I didn't want to bring everyone down with me. I have gained several pounds back, but one the bright side...... I got a fill Monday and I hope to start shedding those again. Leave it to me to have to do things twice! lol I promise to catch up with yall later. Time to get ready for work and school! Yall have a great day and ...... I found a new box! lol

Thanks, I needed a hug. lol I lost my hammer in the move and haven't been able to find it. I guess I can go out to my Dad's shop, use his welding machine and make a steel box. Maybe I just need a concrete box. lol I know I need something. Yall take cover..... Ike is on his way! C-yall later. Lisa

My Box has fell apart. I can't even tell I have a band anymore. This is not a fun thing yall. I haven't posted because I have been so discouraged that I didn't want to bring everyone down. I'm really glad everyone is doing so well. Yall stay in your boxes, cause it's not fun on the outside of one. I so wish they would start support group meetings back in Mt. Pleasant. Well, yall have heard enough of the "dark side". Belive me, stay in your boxes and don't look out. It's not fun out here. lisa

Hi Yall! I just wanted everyone to know I was alive. I have been busy with "things". You know how it is. Yes, I am VERY, VERY, VERY discouraged. I haven't lost a pound in 6 maybe 8 months. I have all but quit trying. The harder I try, the more discouraged I get. I need to go see Dr. H, but just haven't had the time to get there. I know I need to have the un-fill put back in. TOM affects my band. I can tell the week before. I get tight. Have done it since I got my band. Gotta go. Time to go for the "official" weigh in for football. He's gettin big. Had a doctors appointment yesterday. (tonsillitis) 89.6 pounds. Yall take care, will try to post later. Gotta a lot of reading to do so I will know what's been going on! Lisa

Hey everyone! I get a hiccup. Then, it's over. I know not to eat anymore. Hope everyone is doing fine. I have been very busy. Just no time to post. Haven't lost a pound. Getting verrrrrrrrryyyyyyyy frustrated. I think I need that fill that Dr. H. took out last time. Had a appointment for Monday, but had to cancel. VBS this week, no way to make the trip to Txrkna. I'm kinda hesitant to come anyway, I know I'm gonna get the sermon. I just don't get it. I'm staying in the box like I'm supposed to, but......... nuthin. Oh well..... just gonna keep trying. Maybe, I should start exercising more. More???? Did I just say that? lol Yall stay cool. Drink your water. Talk to everyone later, lisa

Hi everyone! Glad to see everyone doing ok. Well, we are staying in the new one! I can't say we are moved offically. I didin't know we had that much "STUFF". Can anyone say "Yard Sale"? Or better yet "Junk Yard"? lol After all that moving, I haven't lost not one single pound. But, I feel like I have a ton of water. Yall know, heat.... summer..... leads to swellling of the body due to water build up. lol I have that problem. Lasix would do the trick. If only I had about a ton! lol I am currently trying not to eat much! My band musta moved and left no forwarding address. I could eat a horse! I'm glad it's gardening season. I have been living on fresh veggies the past week. Just veggies, no salad dressing. I love tomatoes and cucumbers. Peas are coming on now as well as okra. I'll have to try my hardest to stay away from the okra. I don't like it stewed. YUCK! And fried is out of the picture, sadly. But the rest.....mmmmmmm! I hope I'm not in trouble when I go back. My posting won't be normal for a while, until I get the phone line moved, so don't think I have floated down the river in my box. I'm still here, i just have one phone line for right now and have to stay off line every once in a while. lol Yall have a great day! Drink, drink, drink. and stay in that box! lisa

Teresa, I quit measuring my food a long time ago. (when I was losing very well) I have a little bowl and a very small plate that I eat off of. I use them and I know I'm getting the right amount. Now, when we go out to eat, I just eat a small amount. I know when to quit. I have learned the sign. I have a very small pain when it's time to give up. Sometimes, I have a hiccup. Then, it's time to quit. Not another bite. If I do, it's PB city. Haven't had one since I had that little bit removed from my band, and that part is very nice, but it seems like my 1/2 cup is not satisfying me. Who knows.... but I'm like you. I can't quit now! As for the cost of the fills, you might ask one of the other self-pays. Mine are covered by insurance. Thank you, Jesus! I just have to pay my co-pay for my fills. I agree, all you newbies. Develop good habits early. It is vital to your sucess with your band. I tried so hard the first few months and got into some habits that I didn't necessarily like at the time, but now they are old habits and I don't even think about it now. Drink your water, follow the "box" rules that Mrs. Betty gives you. They are common sense rules anyway and not that hard to follow if you try. Well, that is the sermon for the day! Yall stay in your box and drink your water! AND have a great day! lisa

Peri, You still have to be really careful about the port area. It will take a while for it to heal and "scar" into place. It will be sore from time to time also. I'm short and mine still gets sore when I accidentally mash it against the counter top. (I'm about 18 months out) If Mrs. Betty said it was ok to go swimming, then it must be ok. Just be careful and not strain yourself too much. Sometimes the port flips making it hard to get fills. I'm not trying to scare you. I promise. It just takes a little time for the port to heal. I think that is the spot that takes the most time to heal after surgery. I know mine was sore for several weeks after my surgery. I don't think you did anything bad. It's just a tender spot for a while. Teresa, I'm with you. I'm mad now! Got on the scales this mornin.... 2 more pounds! I'm getting disgusted with the whole thing. I was so tight when I went to the Doctor earlier this month and when he took out the least little bit (.14? that ain't even a drop!) I feel like I'm wide open again! I think I would rather be too tight than like this. At least I wasn't looking for something to eat all the time! Glo... I'm with you on lining my box with scriptures also. I think I will find several Bibles and put in there. Then I would have lots of reading and comtemplating materials in there. Might take my mind off things! Yes, I think you can still come every six weeks after the first year. Ask them if you can. I'm going every eight weeks now. I might look into going back sooner this time, since I can't control my weight anymore!!!!!!! uuuuugggggggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!! Yall stay in your box and drink your water. lisa

Thank you Mrs. Hipp! I wondered if anyone remembered the support group meetings. lol It was a good meeting. I enjoyed it. Thanks for coming. See you next month. Hey, I missed you at Wal Mart's yesterday. It was Thursday, where were you? lol I guess you are right, Susan. I do need to chill, I guess. I just get in a blue funk every once in a while and need to hear someone tell me to straighten up. Thanks! ljg

Teresa, you have a few months yet don't ya? I know what you mean about THAT question. I haven't told a lot of people about my band, but everyone that knows, hasn't has that question very many times, but still .... if you know you have more to lose and you can't seem to get it done, it's very discouraging even if THAT question isn't asked. Was that confusing? lol I'm just tired of waiting. I have had my band 18 months and it's been good to be able to lose what I have, but I'm not satisified with the amount I have lost. 30 more would be nice, very nice! That would put me below the goal the doctors set. My own personal goal. Well guess what I had from the garden last nite..... yep.... fresh tomatoes and cucumbers!!! mmmmmmm I love both of them. Made a pig of myself. I didn't get in much protein, but I was full. I guess sometimes you have to eat what you want. At least it wasn't a milk shake or ice cream! lol And it was low calorie! That made them taste even better! lol Susan, did you get your a/c in place? I called the power company (who shall remain nameless, but you know who they are) and it's going to be at least two weeks before they will get power to the house. Then we have to wait for the a/c and septic to be hooked up. I'm just sittin here waiting AGAIN! Nobody works on my schedule! boo-hiss! Yall have a good day, stay in your box, drink your water and stay out of the heat! (I'm gonna line my box with tomatoes and cucumbers. lol ) lisa

Yeah, but Good Grief, I'm just a little discouraged today. It's getting old. I've been stuck in this place for 3 or 4 months! You would think with all the stuff I have been doing lately, I would be skinny as a rail. I have tried my best to do what I'm supposed to be doing and I'm not getting anywhere. Maybe, if I start over with the liquid diet it would get me started again. I really want to get the rest of this off!!! Sorry for being such a grouch, but this is just depressing! lisa
