  1. And his protein calculation worked out to be a normal amount. I think for me it was 60g/day. The dumb asses decided to jump all over him before they even checked out.
  2. It sure seems to me that quite a high percentage of them have had complications as well. It's got to be a higher percentage than the general banded population, and they have come up since these people have been following Sandy's "rules". Maybe it's not such a good idea to pack in 1-2 cups of food in 20mins and maybe a shake in the morning is not such a bad thing.
  3. So much for being done with this conversation.....
  4. She sent it to me in a PM on OH that I still have. It has all of her info on it as well. I would be happy to forward it to you.
  5. This is excellent advice Lauren. So many times I have posted on OH that people should call their doc and not just follow free medical advice off of a message board only to have Sandy reply that "most docs don't know" as much as she does about the band. Sandy quote - "I think you'll find that about 90% of what you need to know comes from other, experienced Bandsters. I sure did. Few docs, for instance, are trained in nutrition" I think it's great to get support from other patients but as far as medical and nutritional advice I think I'll stick with my surgeon and NUT. OH has a lot of resident "know it alls" pontificating the band rules according to Sandy. It reminds me of when I was in undergrad bio and my prof warned us all about getting caught up in what he termed the "cowdung" or "conventional wisdome of the dominant group".
  6. Oops I fogot another quote "Lap Band talk is full of even more gossip and bad info than this site!"
  7. Hey that "many states" "I am a band practitioner, and have degrees and graduate degres in nursing and education, from St Louis Unversity, Wittenberg University, Ohio State, UCLA and UCSF. My full resume is in my book. Nurse Practitioners may practice independently, and many do. I am licensed in several states, under my married name - as many women are. No, I am not banned from LapBand talk. There is a lot of untrue gossip floating around from people who are not very smart at all. Don't believe tham. Most are people who are doing poorly and possibly jealous. Very few bandsters have been able to maintian goal for years , as I have, and I'm happy to share what I have learned that got me to goal in 10 months, and allows me to maintain well. My written band guide , and many other of my published band teaching tools are in use by several docs, including Dr. Curry on OH, and I have a comprehensive band book that will be released soon, and is suported by Allergan and has written endorsements by several well-known Band docs." Yada - Yada - Yada
  8. You are so bad! I predict it will happen as soon as Larry Craig gets his guilty plea changed :eyebrows:
  9. Good to know, but I always worry that any suggestion that might delay someone seeing their doctor in hopes that a home treatment might work could be harmful indirectly.
  10. What was it that you suggested?
  11. Thanks! Congrats to you too! 90# is awesome!
  12. That is so true. When I tell my friend how much I still have to lose they can't believe I want to be "that skinny". My goal is actually just a normal BMI for me.
  13. Thanks! I can't wait till I can join you at goal.
  14. Thanks!!! and congrats to you on dropping that morbidly!! I think we should both follow Wasa's advice and treat ourselves to something special.
  15. I like the hair idea! I need a cut and would love to get some highlights again. Thanks for the idea!
  16. I do remember reading a post where you had suggested to someone who thought that she was experiencing constipation and gas that she do a “cleanse”. I can’t remember if the post was from you or the other individual thanking you for your advice, but in either case those posts are not there now. If this was not the case my apologies. Have you ever suggested to anyone on OH that they do any sort of colonic or cleanse?
  17. Thanks!! You have done awesome. You are an inspiration!
  18. That's exactly what I was thinking! It is a bit strange, but still feels pretty darn good. Thanks!
  19. Interestingly, NancyB recently suggested to someone that they should do a colonic cleanse to help alleviate the symptoms that they were having. Trouble is the person had an erosion that ended up being a medical emergency. OH seems to be the place to go if you want cheep advice from non-professionals as well as this kind of crap.
  20. Today for the first time in a long time I am simply overweight and not Obese!!! I do not post a lot but I have been helped a great deal by reading the posts of others on LBT. Thanks to all of you!
  21. You are at goal!!!!!! Congrats!!!!!!:clap2::clap2::clap2:
  22. I hope that you are right. It's good to know that some folks have moved beyond that type of thing.
  23. "there a definite sense of clique-ishness" Exactly! In fact the person who attacked you admitted to one of the people who was also being targeted by the dominant group that there is a "email list" where dirt gets passed around about various people. As a matter of fact she even told me who runs the email list. Perhaps someone who posted on this thread can explain more about that. Very supportive indeed.
  24. Truth is a good thing!
  25. I like the Amy's chili. You can find it at Whole Foods or in the Organic section of a lot of grocery stores. Amy's Kitchen - Products
