  1. I also believe I am having hunger pains, they are so uncomfortable!!! Anyone else feel this in their stomach! UGh
  2. I am DYING to EAT!!! I am on day 7, i think. I had surgery on 3/11. I have almost convinced myself to eat something but am scared to do so. I know this is gross.. BUT.. I have ate some popcorn chicken and a few mac n cheese noodles for the taste and spit it out before swallowing. I am sooo done with this liquid diet and I have till NEXT Wednesday! I could cry! What I can't figure out is if we are losing weight now with only liquids, how in the HELL are we going to lose weight when we start eating again?
  3. I had surgery on 3/11 and have weighed myself every stupid morning! Honestly, I don't really care about how much I am losing right now. I find myself in a not so nice place right now with these stupid liquids. I'm cranky, missing food and tired. I know this is all going to pay off but right now I'm in a irratated stage  I keep telling myself that I'm not going to weigh but yet I always do. I dont have a follow up appt for a while. I think I will set a weigh in date for myself. Maybe I'll pick Thursdays? I bet you are going to be happy with your scale number. It sorta becomes a game for us. Good luck! How are you doing 4 days out from surgery? I still have alot of that gas in me that is making me a little uncomfortable. :scared2: I just chewed a peice of popcorn chicken that i was making for my son. I chewed it, savored the taste and spit it out. Gross, i know... i just needed to chew something!!
  4. I just saw a comercial for crab cakes.... :tongue2: OH Lordy they looked sooooo good! Will I ever be able to eat one of those again. I'm still on liquids, only being 5 days out from surgery. I want a sandwhich, some chips, pizza sounds good, a bowl of past-a-roni, peanut butter.... just FOOOOOD! lol I am so done with these shakes! Ugh. 8 more days of liquids!!! BOOO!!!!!
  5. I'm on day 5 post op and my port site is very sore and today i woke up with a very sore left side, making it hard to take in a deep breath. I am sooo very ready to be back to feeling normal again!
  6. My surgery was 3/11 and I am also so sick of the shakes and I have come no where near having my Water for the day. I tried the chicken broth and beef broth and thought it tasted like it came from a horse.. the chunk of solid fat when opening up the can doenst help much either! Yack!!! My Dr also told me the same as VLP... next Wednesday I can have cottage cheese, eggs, creamed soups... can't wait!! I did make some chicken noodle soup last night and just drank the broth.. it was so much better than the straight chicken broth. I have also been able to eat sugar free pudding and fat free yogurt which helps. I am just dreaming about a sandwhich... a turkey sandwhich! LOL It's killing me every time i make my son a PBJ sandwhich.. i just want to lick any leftover pb on my fingers... BUT i've been good! I'm too scared of anything happening! I am alot more sore today for some reason.. i thought i was headed in the right direction but today my port area is very sore. Today is also the first day i have had bathroom issues
  7. I'm interested in your favorite meats and how you prepare them. I'm needing lots of ideas for when I'm off the liquid phase of post-op
  8. Just curious to see how long you went without having the "stuck" situation. Is it possible to never get stuck?
  9. Has anyone on here had success with eating the breads, rice, pasta, potatoes? Now I know if we can eat them it is very limited, but I was just curious to see how many people do OK with eating these types of food.
  10. I am scared of blood clots. I know walking helps with the circulation, but when are you considered to be be out of "danger" zone? My legs are achy and I know i'm being a little dramatic about it. Just wanted to see what your thoughts on this were.
  11. I was just banded on Thursday. So far so good.
  12. How long after surgery does it take for you to be "back to noraml" in a sense of as normal as we can be with being banded. I was just curious to see when all the swelling went down for you and when you felt yourself again. Do we ever feel ourselves again after this surgery?
  13. Wow, you have really done great with your weight loss!! Congrats! I can't wait for it to start coming off!
  14. My doctor puts 3cc's in your band at the time of surgery. Has anyone else had their doctor do the same? If so, how did it affect you? Do you think you did better with a fill automatically? How was your first fill after surgery, especially with already having some restrictions? If one good thing has come out of all of the reading I have done on this board, i am terrified to eat more than i am suppose to for the fear of throwing up or food getting stuck. So far I am day 3 post op and haven't had any problems. It take me a little bit longer to drink my Protein shakes but other than that all liquids are going down just fine. I need to increase the amount of water/tea i am drinking, yesterday I only got through 1 glass (by choice) but I was able to drink 3 atkins shakes, a cup of chicken broth and a chocolate pudding.
  15. I just had my surgery this past Thursday and am feeling pretty good. There is some soreness and of course the gas pains but other than that I feel pretty good. If there were five things you could suggest to bandsters who are just getting started what would they be? Do you have any "secrets" that you think have helped you get as far as you have? Please respond with the top five things that helped you with your journey and success. I'm scared of failure. Can't wait to see what everyone writes back with!
  16. Hello! I was banded yesterday and so far things haven't been that bad. My biggest complaint would be soreness. I have a few quick questions. My neck is so stiff, is this from me not sleeping normal? My sinuses are acting up, I am all congested, is that ok? Where my port is, the area is still numb, is that normal? Do you keep an ice pack on your stomach where your band is? I have off and on but wanted to know if it did indeed help . That's all for now!! I have been able to drink my protein shakes and some broth which has been nice.
  17. Thank you all soooo much! I know it's weird to say but i am happy I'm not alone and it is comforting to know people feel the same way I do. My surgery is tomorrow morning at 10am. I am nervous, scared, excited, anxious all the while, knowing this is going to be a good thing. Part of me is dissapointed in myself that I wasn't strong enough to do this on my own, almost as if I let myself down. Why couldn't I have the will power, it doesnt make me the proudest to say I have had WL surgery but it is what it is and I know I am going to feel better and look better. I have held on to this weight for so many years, it's like breaking up with someone. I am so excited to get my self confidence back which in return will help me be a better wife and a better mom. Overall I know it will make me happy. Hopefully a good night sleep and a easy surgery is ahead of me  Be thinking about me tomorrow. Steph
  18. Hi friends! I don't know if it's just the unknown, all of the changes that are headed my way, unveiling a new me, or all of the above that have me so nervous! I have been find upto today! I read where a patient had the band on the 24th and died on the 28th from a blood clot. I'm freaking out a little bit but at the same time trying to stay calm. I have a husband and a 11 yr old son and if something happened to me while doing a voluntary surgery, i would feel awful. I haven't done that great on my pre-op diet which has me a little depressed and upset at myself... so then I think I hope everything goes ok during surgery. I hope my cheats haven't messed me up too bad. I'm just nervous. I have been reading this board for the longest time and decided today was the day to join! Hope to talk to you all soon! I'll be posting alot, i'm a talker!
