  1. Did you say this to yourself? Did you think in the beginning that there was no way you'd lose all your weight? My band is 3 weeks old, down 10lbs since surgery and I know it is a slow process BUT did you ever think in the beginning that it would never happen for you? I go for my first fill this coming Wednesday. I already have 3cc's in from surgery.
  2. Did you experience weight gain during this stage? When did it turn around for you? I've noticed a 1.5lb change this week since I graduated to mushy's :tt1:
  3. Curious how much food you are eating at each dining time. Are you having snacks in between?
  4. Just wanting some ideas while I am at work. Do you measure your lunch every day? What types of lunches are you taking to work?
  5. YEAH!!!! CONGRATS!!! Meeeee tooooooo :-) I was banded 3/11 and this morning i was down 9.5lbs!! Just keep it coming. My dying of hunger has subsided a little..tomorrow i get to start mushies!!! YAY I can't tell you how excited I am to be able to eat actual food!!!!! I am a little scared of gaining during the mushy stage and into full blown eating. I hope it continues to come off for both of us! We should exchange email addresses so we can keep up with one another since our band date was so close!!
  6. :thumbdown:I mean REALLLY? So of course i cried and was telling husband that obviously this isn't going to work for me! LOL I know, a bit dramatic BUT come on! What boggles my mind is how I have lost 8.5lbs since surgery 10 days ago, been on straight liquids and how I will be eating in 2 weeks full food and STILL lose weight? How??? I know it happens and maybe doubt is a part of this whole process but it sure makes me wonder.:confused::smile: So frustruating. I need to stop weighing, LOL
  7. What is that feeling like? I had my surgery 3/11 and SOOOOO counting the days till I have have mushies (this Wed) and since I will be able to eat eggs, mash pots, creamy Soups.. I just wanted to know how you know when enough is enough. Is it a painful feeling? Do you get bloated? Or do you just "feel" full?
  8. How do you experienced bansters do with cheeses and nuts? I'm thinking nuts are like pills, so prob not so much, but i wasn't so sure about cheese. Do you have to chew it until it's mush? Does everything have to be chewed to mush?
  9. It's the Hormel already made family dinners. I find them near the lunch meat area by the sausage. They aren't frozen. It takes 5-6 minutes to microwave and it's like you have been cooking a roast all day! Very tender meat... soooo yummy!! They have meatloafs, turkey, chicken medallions with wine sauce.. Anyways tonight i was making it for the family and it occured to me that the auj jus broth I could eat!! SOOOOOOO good! Wish i had more! haha.
  10. What flavor do you like?
  11. Funny you say that! My husband just brought me another "sample" It is a 2oz shot, whey Protein by body fortress that has 26g of protein, 110, 0 fat, 1carb and 0 sugars.. It is fruit punch flavored. BUT they are $2.00 each.. so I was just telling him I'd have to use the big jug. Does Whey protein bulk you up?
  12. Hi girls! I fixed the family a hormel beef roast (the one you buy already made, takes 5 minutes to heat up) and I kept the auj jus (sp?) and ate that for my dinner. It had sooo much flavor and was such a treat! It is just like broth but with so much flavor!! Tasted like I was eating roast!!! YUM
  13. My husband picked me up some Biotin for hair loss, i want to get a head start before the loss starts. He purchased 5,000mg pills. Is that too much to take daily?
  14. My husband has a big ol jug of whey protein... for 2 scoops, it is 200 calories and has 52g of PROTEIN!!! Is it ok to drink Whey Protein?
  15. I am wondering the same thing! During post-op I am def not getting my Protein in. Ugh!
  16. I'm not itching!! Wonder if that is yet to come... UGH My legs are achy though...
  17. I have heard this referred to alot but am a little confused.
  18. I'm your TWIN!!!!!!!!! Girl I am DYING! I had surgery on 3/11 and today I made velveeta mac n cheese chewed it and spit it out just so I could taste something real!!! Is this what others refer to as bandster hell? I didnt think it was. I am STARVVVVVVVING! Tonight I had hubby pick up some cool whip so I could add it to my Jello and pudding. If I have to drink another Protein shake it might make me vomit! I drew a calendar and I cross off VERY DRAMATICALLY every day off and the day I can move over to mushies is HUGELY CIRCLED!! Childish I know but I mean COME ON! Husband and I have argued ALOT and I know its because I'm so irritated. I too have cried because I'm hungry, no mattter how I sit/lay I am not comfortable so I am right there with you!! We have to know it will get better! We should stick together! Are you getting all your Water in daily? I'm def not! Nor am I getting in my daily protein which makes me nervous! So glad to read your message! Your not alone! Everything you said I have felt or currently feel! This totally sucks. We both know it will pay off in the end but that doesn't make what we are going through any easier!
  19. OMGGGGGGG Meatloaf and mashed potatoes sound soooooooooo gooooood!!!! I was just thinking about meatloaf the other day wondering if we could eat it!
  20. When does this cease? Do you remember when it didn't bother you anymore? Only 7 days out and I know I have a while. It seems to be bothering me a little bit more now. I have a burning sensation and of course the tugging/pulling feeling inside... Yack.. i dont like it at all! :cursing: It'll all be worth it but for now it sucks
  21. I keep reading these words over and over and to be honest it's probably a good thing because it's scaring the crap out of me. Can we be a little bit more specific though. What can we swallow? How excessive does the chewing have to be? Can a pineapple tidbit go down? Or is that too big? I am just trying to get an idea in my head on the right size of food to swallow.
  22. My legs have been achy, but more so in the evenings. Day 7 post-op, maybe it's lack of food! lol
  23. OH GIRL!!! I'm sorry your feeling so awful!! :cursing: I am day 7 post-op and the fear of throwing up is UNREAL!!! Deathly scared! Did you chew your food really well? Was that first bite just swallowed to big? With your potato tonight, i woudln't think potato would get stuck? Well maybe i am thinking mashed potatoes. I think maybe it's the chewing that isn't going over so well... Good luck! I hope you feel better soon!
  24. My Dr told me during these first 2 weeks of liquids, I could have sf Jello, sf jello pudding, fat free yogurt etc. After hearing all the chew chew chew comments, I'm a little scared to swallow a bite of pudding. Can stuff like that get stuck or does it slide on through? I've been taking BABY bites for the fear of the unknown.
  25. What was your first meal when you were free and clear of post-op rules? Were you scared to eat at first, thinking everythign would get stuck? Did the food go down smoothly?
