That sounds very tasty! I will have to give it a try. If your son hasany more good recipes, he will have to share with you so you can share with us! Thank you for posting it. PiPat
  2. You will be fine. This time tomorrow you will be one of the banded!!! Try not to be nervous and breath deep. I will be praying for you and the surgeon. God blessings, Pat
  3. :thumbup:CHOCOLATE!!!!! Chocolate is very addictive! And I am addicted!! But just a taste makes me feel better, clears the cobwebs and things look brighter. LOL... I know now, that when I get home after surgery, there will be no television! All the food commercials! I never paid any attention to them before now. I do hope your cravings are soothed quickly. Pat
  4. Hello! I will be banded on 10/18. As I was reading the posts for everyone, I came across yours mentioning food getting stuck. I have that horror! I have a friend that had the Lapband a couple of years ago and she has given me alot of information. She said that pineapple juice is good to "unstick" the food. Just sip on it but it should help. I think we need to offer advice to one another. I surely hope someone will help me if I run into a problem. Take care and blessings (no such thing as luck) PitPat
  5. Angela, you may be young but you have a good head on your shoulders! I think if anyone could be a spokesperson for Lapband, you could! I am lot older than you. in fact, I'm a new GREAT grandmother (a very young 64 year old), but you could have been the very one to convience me on the Lapband. I'm like you, I don't want my 'plumbing' re-routed, or anything re-arranged. I've never asked for surgery until now. I know that if I add ten more pounds, I will not be able to carry our new baby across the room. And that is a very sad thought to me. I have a lot of miles ahead of me and more things to do than I can count. I'm ready to enjoy the rest of my life! I will have my surgery on 10/18. Since I live in a small town, i have to travel to Atlanta Ga. for surgery. But if that's what I have to do, I will. Please keep me in your prayers. Keep me updated with your progess. It looks like you are doing great!! Keep it up. We're in it for the long haul. We're just not going to have to 'haul' as much. Take care, Pat (PitPat)
  6. Congratulations on your band date!!!! I am being banded on the same day. I am so ready!!!! I want to see the world being a much smaller person and I want the world to see me as a normal size. I start my preop diet on the 11th. Keep me updated on your progress on this journey.
  7. We're all there with you! Do your research, listen to these on this website and find a very good understanding, well known and established surgeon. And make your decision. My surgery is 10/18 and I am ready now!!!! Keep us updated.
  8. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your brother-in-law. I have just read your updates or I would have already responded. I will keep your sister and family (and you, of course) in my prayers. It shows us that we need to be ready all the time because we don't know when God wants to bring us Home to Him. I hope your recovery is not hampered by this huge shock. God's blessings on your family.
  9. Congratulations to the three of us....I'm being banded on the 18th!!!!
  10. My surgery date is 10/18. I only have to do a week of Slim Fast before surgery. I will go 10/8 to talk to the anthesioligist (?sp). I'm nervous, excited, unsure, etc....... My emotions vary depending on the day. I'm just ready for it to be behind me. It seems like an eternity since I started. I put everything aside for about a month. My first great grandchild was born 9/10 and I got my appointment for my surgery date. So, here I go!:smile2:
  11. Congratulations!!! The 12th will be here before you know it! When do you start your pre-op diet?
  12. Hello Grams! Yes, it is good to see someone else 'over 60'. I am very interested in getting to know our October Bandsters. It helps to feel that you are a part of a group. We're on this journey together...so let's go!
  13. I am one of the October 2010 Bandsters!!! My surgery date is 10/18, at Emory in Atlanta Georgia. Is there anyone that is from Georgia or Alabama? Maybe I'm the only Southern Belle...But maybe not. I would love everyone's input about your upcoming surgery.
  14. You will be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow. Just think! In a couple of days you will be able to tell the rest of us how easy it is. YAH!!!! You will be just fine. I pray for you and the doctor. Take care.
  15. To be on the safe side, I would call the doctor's office early in the morning. They may let you have a swallow of water. But don't count on it. Maybe you should just sleep  a little later tomorrow. If you're like me, the more I think about it the worse it is. Hang in there. As they say, "You've come a long way, baby".
  16. You will do great! Just think....this time tomorrow you will be banded! WOW! We will have you in out thoughts and prayers. Let the rest of us hear from you when you feel up you it.
  17. You are doing great!!! I can only hope I will do half as well as you are! It is very encouraging to hear. Don't over-do....but congratulations on your road to a new life! I'll be right behind you.:crying:
  18. Thanks for the directions, Paigey! Sometimes I think someone should lead me around by the hand.LOL. I wish I was closer so that I could be involved with my fellow banders. It takes about an hour and forty-five minutes to get to Atlanta from here. That's why I won't be able to go to the nutrition classes that Emory has once a month. There is NO way I would travel around there at night!! It's bad enough in the daytime (ha! ha!). I am a small town girl. But thanks for the thought. I'm sure there will be many that woill love to be in a good group. I will be banded on 10/18. I am so ready. I appreciate any advice anyone can give me to make this journey easier. I really enjoy reading everyone's thoughts. Thank you again.
  19. Welcome! I am from Alabama, too! Just a little town on the Georgia line. You are ahead of lots of us! I wish I had already had my surgery. Hopefully, when I see the surgeon tomorrow, she will give me a date. I look forward to hearing about your progress! Keep me updated and I will do the same. Pat :rolleyes2:
  20. Hello to all! I am looking for anyone that has been banded, or will be, banded at Emory in Atlanta. I feel the need to talk with someone. I go tomorrow (9/22) to see the surgeon and set up my surgery date. I'm getting nervous. :blink:Help!
  21. You will be in my prayers. May God calm your fears and negative thoughts. Looking forward to hearing from you soon. PitPat:wink:
  22. I'm still 'learning' and I use the term not knowing what I am doing...LOL. After I leave this page, I my not find it again. But I keep reading.
  23. Bless your heart!!! Even going through all that you are still encouraging us. I hope tomorrow will be much better for you. Thank you for taking the time and effort to let us hear from you. You are in my prayers. Hope to hear from you tomorrow. sleep well, PitPat:thumbup:
  24. Congratulations!! I hope it will be that easy for the rest of us. :couch2: You make it sound like a walk in the park and that is very encouraging. I pray you will feel this good tomorrow. Rest well. PitPat
