    Making progress, slowly but surely!

So, just a quick update to remember. I have had my 4th fill. I am up to 6cc's now and I feel great. My weight is down to 192 and it keeps going down. Boot camp three mornings a week is making a huge difference and making me want to exercise more. The restriction is great. I will say i do have trouble almost daily with either sliming and/or PB'ing. Its almost like i have the first bite syndrome. Once i get over the 1st bite, i may have to run to the bathroom. Then after I am fine to finish my meal. I eat about a cup three times a day, i have 1 protein shake and 1 greek yogurt. Thats my days and I feel great! I am off to the beach for a week and I hope to continue to exercise on my own and eat good choices. We will see!! So, lets see: Started this journey at 224. Today I am at 192. Not too bad!!

    Amazing

I think that its just amazing that having lost over 25 pounds since starting this whole journey, i still cringe at looking at pictures of me. I mean, 25 pounds is a lot of weight! Its my 2 year old to be exact. I had my big 30 birthday party last weekend and i thought i looked damn good. I had on a new dress (in a smaller size), new shoes, and all new jewelry. I felt good until I saw the pictures. Ughhh. Oh well. I have had 3 fills thus far making it 5.5 cc's. I go for my next this Tuesday. Hopefully I will be up to 6 CC's at that point. I haven't really experienced anything of restriction although I did PB for the first time last week on a piece of pita bread. Weirdest feeling ever. So glad I was home! Weight as of this morning: 196.5. Sllloooowly creeping downward. Its a lot slower than I thought but thats mainly my own fault for not following the rules to a tee. I started a boot camp class a couple of weeks ago. Its 3 mornings a week for about 45 minutes. Feels good! Hopefully it will help tone up my jiggly parts!!
  5. Hey Jilly...Im now down 36 pounds..and im frustrated as well...It is sooooo hard...I havent had a fill yet and that is due to my weight loss..my doc feels i dont need one..but right now...i can eat everything as well...Its funny..we are going through the same thing...i can get down 75% of what i use to be able to get down...and my family is curious as to why as well...i get 2ccs put into my band on monday...hopefully that helps...im trying to just practice self control...its hard though...keep your head up...you'll make more progress..im sure of it...keep me posted as well!

  6. H All. I just received my 2nd fill yesterday. I have 6cc's in a 10cc band. Since then, liquids are going down slow and its a bit painful. I litterally have to take tiny sips. Also, a new development is when I started on yogurt today, i have this gurgling in my throat with every bite. I have also slimed a bit too. Is this what restriction is? When things are very slow to go down and the back of my throat is gurgling? Is it supposed to be uncomfortable when swallowing. Its the weirdest thing. I am terrified to eat anything solid right now. Oh, and taking my vitamins produced a ton of gurgling as well. I just dont want to go get an unfil. No pb'ing yet.
  7. HI Juicy!

I am doing okay. A little frustrated on the weightloss front. Its def partly my own fault. But, the band is letting me eat anything and everything. its horrible. I go for my 2nd fill today so hopefully things will change and the scale will get moving with some better food choices and exercise. This is hard! Good for you with your progress.

I just thought that the band would fix my head hunger because i would be so motivated to follow the rules with seeing results on the scale. WRONG! This is a lot harder and also, it doesnt help when my family are wondering why i am not losing anymore and how i can eat like i do. Frustrating.

We will see what happens after this fill.

Have a great day. its going to be in the 90's today here in Boston! Good luck and keep me posted!

  8. Hey Jilly...it is amazing that we are feeling the same way...its nice to see how someone that got banded around the same time you did is doing...im at total of 33 pounds lost...i lost 7 of those pounds before the band...so i have lost 26 pounds after...I hope all is well with you...i read your last blog and i did the same thing...my surgeon was furious and told me i shouldnt had graduated to solids so early...i get my first fill in the beginning of june...how are you feeling..keep me posted..ttys

    Could this be....

I am also waiting for that fullness. I had it a day after my fill and thats it. Food is also getting stuck with me too. Thats hurts and is so uncomfortable. Good luck and hang in there!! I will be doing the same!

    Slacking and First Fill

Its been quite a while since I last posted and thats partly because I didn't want to own up to my bad eating habits! Yikes! Accountability is huge and its time I start realizing it. Towards the end of my 2nd stage of pured foods, i graduated myself to solids. I discovered I could eat anything and everything and I did. I have been on such a strict diet to lose the pre-op weight and then having the surgery and doing liquids and then mush, i went crazy on solids. No more folks! I had my first fill yesterday. I stepped on the scale and saw 204. Now, i had no idea where i was weight-wise because i also avoided the scale. 204 is not acceptable. Weird thing is that I stepped on the scale today and saw 199. So, with the fills, i have to be on fluids for 24 hours and then can start slowly back into solids. I have to follow all the band rules to the T. Today i have had a protein shake and thats it. I am now just starting to get hungry. I can feel the liquid going down. A weird feeling. Back on track! I am going to start following the rules, taking smaller bites, choosing better foods and up my exercising. I need to get that scale moving.
  11. Wow girl that is AWESOME!! YAY Congrats! How long did you stay off work. I think we pretty much have the same job! I am also a Real Estate Admin. I planned on doing my surgery like Wed or Thursday and then going back to work on Monday! Awww I'm excited for you!! Keep up the great work!

  12. Hi Jilly:

I have been walking about 40 minutes every day and every other day I have been doing the elipitical for 30 minutes. So today I weigh myself and it reads that I gained 3 lbs. NOT POSSIBLE...is it? I don't understand I barely make it to 1000 calories a day. My husband says its muscle but I am sick of that excuse...so anyway I go to my 1st doctors appointment today. You should be so happy to be under the 200 lb mark...that is so awesome! I am sure once we both get fills that perhaps we will feel something???

  13. Oooh! 9 days. Thats right around the corner. Very exciting. The liquid diet is a killer! I was so emotional on it and I missed food. Take it day by day. What helpedme get through it was drinking crystal light and thinking about what I am going to look/feel like this summer and if I cheat, I am going to slow everything down. Seemed to work for me, again keeping the positive attitude. Its hard though!! Being down over 11 pounds feels sooo great!! Good luck and keep me posted!

  14. Hey! Aren't you so glad the surgery is over?? I am! I am not feeling any tightness. Never did in fact... I wonder what thats about. Your port is connected to muscle so I bet thats why you still feel pain there. That was the last spot to heal for me. I can't do a sit-up quite yet but walking and doing everyday activities is fine and I feel nothing. Good job on the 11 pounds!! Doesnt it feel great? I went shopping last night and was suprised I am not in a smaller size yet. I have lost 24 pounds in all and my current size is too big but the smaller size is to small. Isnt that always the way.

My weightloss has slowed down tremendously since starting the pured stage. has yours?

  15. Hi! I am doing great! I am 2.5 weeks from surgery and already down 11.5 pounds. It was a peice of cake. Already healed and feeling good. Sometimes I forget I even had surgery.

How are you doing with that silly 6 mo. diet?? How much longer do you have to go. What a pain that is!
