  1. I am always freezing cold, such a difference from 4 years ago. Definately bring something to layer with. Right now it's a beautiful 75 and it's almost noon, I love it!! Since everything is inside we don't worry about what it's doing outside.
  2. We can't wait to meet you Patricia, it's going to be a blast!! Lots of us are coming solo so you will fit right in.
  3. The band can loosen up, especially if you are losing weight. Think of it like a "BELT" the more weight you lose the more holes on your belt you have to adjust. The same holds true for the band.
  4. Hey Kimmie, Just be kind and patient with yourself right now. You will learn to slow down and take smaller bites, it's a life saver. Let me know if there is anything I can help you with, I'm here for you.
  5. Dress up, Dress down, just don't be late :cursing:) We are going to dance our booties off, hey that will be a bonus "RIGHT"!! LOL
  6. I am wearing black crop pants, dressy shirt and boots. I am so excited you guys are getting pumped up for the conference. Because of "Ya'll" it's going to be amazing!!
  7. Wow you have done amazing Cblancha. Band erosion or slippage is caused from constant throwing up. If you are throwing up all the time you need to let your surgeon know because that is not normal. Practice the three golden rules and hopefully that will help you.
  8. I would start by taking smaller bites so it's easier to chew to liquid form, this should make it easier on you to eat. Taking an antacid is fine, but be sure to tell your surgeon about your reflux you want to keep him/her in the loop. Anytime you have a fill be easy on yourself because you getting use to your restriction. Just keep the golden rules close by and you should do great.
  9. You don't have to be banded to contribute to the clothing exchange. Bring what you don't think you will be wearing much longer and pick up some smaller sizes so you will be prepared once you start losing weight.
  10. Everyone who has signed up is on the list. All you need to do is go the registeration table to pick up your name tags. I am so excited and looking forward to meeting everyone.
  11. The Clothing exchange will be available for everyone who wants to participate. No purchasing of the clothes will take place. Whatever we have left over I will donate to a local women's shelter here in the DFW area.
  12. Hi, The hotel is The Wyndham DFW North. I look forward to meeting you at the conference.
  13. Hey YaYa, I bet your right. If you haven't really had to pay attention before now you are probably taking too big of a bite and not chewing well enough. Just take your time to chew and concentrate on the smaller bite and you should be good to go. Let us know how you do with this fill and let us know what you learned.
  14. We sure are. I have a closet full of clothes I will be bringing with me. If you can bring the clothes on hangers that would be wonderful. I am so glad Ike didn't slow you gals down. I can't wait to meet you!!
  15. Hey Rhonda, I received your registration and you are good to go. Pssst we will get your husband on the dance floor with you, don't you worry about that  I am looking forward to meeting you and watching your husband tear up the dance floor *LOL*.
  16. To make your reservation please call 877-999-3223 use "Banded Together" for the discount. Wyndham DFW Airport North 4441 W. John Carpenter Freeway Irving, Texas 75063
  17. Several folks are coming solo. Don't let that stop you, we will all be there to support and encourage each other. We hope to see you there!!
  18. Yes you can register late, that is not a problem.
  19. How many times have you had a fill; then bam you can no longer eat like you could before? I hear this from clients all the time “I get stuck all the time”. After years of being banded I completely understand this concept and the frustration that comes with it. I have discovered three golden rules to help minimize getting stuck. Golden Rule One- Take smaller bites. Trust me this is a new concept for us bandsters. However our pouch is not designed for the larger bite any longer so please take smaller bites; this will help you avoid getting stuck as much. Golden Rule Two- Chew your food to liquid form before you swallow. This is probably the hardest rule to follow; I know it was for me anyway. If you take too large of a bite and have to chew it to liquid form you are going to get frustrated, angry and dread eating. By following rule one makes rule two much easier to follow. Golden Rule Three- Don’t eat if you are stressed or angry. The band is very fickle and will tighten up on you if you are stressed or angry. When you sit down to eat; try to be as calm and relaxed as you can. A lot of us start feeling anxiety right before we eat because we are afraid of getting stuck. This is actually causing a double negative. We are worried about getting stuck before we even eat so we cause an adverse effect with our band. Think back to your pre-band days and how relaxed you were when you would sit down to eat a meal. There was no stress or anxiety about eating, well guess what it should be that way now as well. If you follow these three golden rules eating a meal should be much easier. Now of course if you are following “The Three Golden Rules” and you are still getting stuck you may very well be too tight. If this is the case contact your surgeon to have some of your fill removed. As you are learning to eat with your tool be kind and patient with yourself. There is a learning curve you need to overcome. It is a foreign concept to us learning how to eat again after all these years. The more you follow the golden rules the more enjoyable your journey will be.
  20. The show is available 24/7 via podcast, so hopefully you can catch it at a later time. I am hoping to be able to change the time, I have requested a time change from Blog Talk Radio.
  21. *LOL* You are the first one to notice it said buffet. I don't even know why it says buffet. It will actually be happy hour/appetizer food for the meet and greet. I am meeting with the Chef today to plan the menu and trust me the food is going to be healthy and band friendly. I will update the post and remove that dirty nasty word
