protein
Hi everyone.... Can anyone recommend a way to get m protein in daily. Is it best to get the protein powder and sprinkle on stuff thru out the day, or to drink the protein shakes? I like the EAS shakes, I know for sure..... is anything else better? Thanks! Any and All input welcome~Peggy

I take prozac and have had no problems. I've been banded a year feb 2011. I still take my prozac and calcium...just have to take them one at a time now, where i use to throw them all in and swallow. Good Luck!

Day 9 Pre Op
Hang in there Melissa. I was banded 2/4/10 and believe me, I had doubts about whether or not I was doing the right thing up to and including the day of surgery! I prayed a lot about it and believe God led me to the right decision. I am losing slower than I wanted, because I sometimes work better with my "tool" (the band) than I do at other times, but I am under 300 lbs now and haven't been there in well over 5 years! I wish you all the luck in the world! Prayers! Peggy

Struggling with pre-op diet
After the 1 week of my pre op diet, I too was thinking, what am I doing....headaches and starving....but it gets easier....I think my main problem was caffeine withdraw. On my pre op diet I was a protein shake for breakfast, one for lunch and 4 oz of fish or chicken with small amt of veggies for dinner. And water water water! Hang in there, I wish you luck! I was banded 2-4-10.....and I love my band! Peggy

I've finally done it!
Congrats! I am happy for you! And you have the right attitude! I was banded 8 days before my 45th birthday on 2/4/10....I LOVE my band....even when I have minor problems I love my band and the decision to be banded! My high weight was 351.....339.5 when I started trying to get approved and 317 the day of surgery. Now at 298.5......it had been well over 5 years since I was under 300. Even at my weight, people have said I walk straighter and prouder.....I wish you luck~Peggy

scanning the room....
This is SO true! I find that since surgery, I walk in a room less self conscious.... I feel really good about myself and I am only 3 months (as of May 4th) post op. I still weigh 298.5 lbs but it feels so much different from the 339! I have a long way to go, but I feel like I look really good! Good Luck!

2nd post op appt
Hey everyone! Todays the day for my 2nd post op appt with Dr Kaplan.......See how much I lost and if I get another fill! Nervous......but excited.....Right now I can still eat basically everything I could before surgery, except for pecans.....for some reason they give me MAJOR heartburn feelings.....I know with every fill it all changes, but I am in it for the long hall! Last Doc appt I was 308.......hoping for a 9 lb loss.....its been SO long since I've been under 300.....But I will be happy with whatever weight loss I have. I know I am losing by the way the clothes are fitting! Wish me luck fellow blogsters.......I will update you after! thanks Peggy

12/29/09 The Hardest Thing I've Ever Done For Myself
I know this post is a few months old, but I feel that God led me to it today! I was just trying to explain to all my co workers that were questioning the band-----what are you allowed to have, do you have to drink protein shakes for life? etc etc ....I told them, I can have anything I want within reason, only smaller amounts and protein first. But they made me doubt myself.....Your post brought me back to why "I" had the band.....it says it all. Thank you so much! Peggy
