Day 9 Pre Op

May 11th is my surgery date. It's coming upon us quickly. I've struggled with this and have given it over to GOD to give the final answer as to if (and yes it is a yes) I'm going to have the surgery. It's been 9 days of frustration and self struggle as to if this diet is for me. The diet, itself doesn't bother me. It's the idea of the surgery being a lifetime decision. I barely know how I feel from year to year on issues. How can I make a lifetime decision and really know it's gonna be the right one for me. Let me hear from my brothers and sisters out there as to if you have struggled in this specific area as I have. Let's pray it's the right decision. Best of luck to all out there.

Hi there....I have yet to be banded, nor do I have a surgery date set (although I'm hoping for early August - provided everything works out with the insurance). However, the way I see it is that with any diet, it will be a lifelong commitment. Obviously, if you are needing a band, it means that you have some sort of weight issue.....so whether you have the band or not, it is going to require a lifelong commitment of exercise and diet. That is no different than having the band in my opinion. Anyways, best of luck with your surgery! I'm jealous that you will be banded soon! I CANNOT WAIT! :cursing:

Hang in there Melissa. I was banded 2/4/10 and believe me, I had doubts about whether or not I was doing the right thing up to and including the day of surgery! I prayed a lot about it and believe God led me to the right decision. I am losing slower than I wanted, because I sometimes work better with my "tool" (the band) than I do at other times, but I am under 300 lbs now and haven't been there in well over 5 years! I wish you all the luck in the world! Prayers! Peggy

Hi Jennay, Thanks for your interest and feedback. I can use that kind of encouragement. Best of luck with your banding. It will be here in no time.
