Let me just say you will fell better if you do NOT drink it with the bubbles still in it. It can give way much gas. I am not one to be able to burp so the gas was painful. I did try drinking a FRESCA my Soda Pop of Choice I had one and have not had another and it has been 9 months and I am down 97 pounds. I do not even think about soda today. Best wishes. imaluckydog

I agree with imaluckydog! I have not had a soda either in 8 months but one! I am down 79 lbs! It is all in the mind about wanting the soda! Get a Crystal Lite instead or something that you like and quickly drink it to get away from the desire! You will get past is soon, best thing is to stay hydrated! Remember "You can not change the Body, unless you first Change the Mind"!

I would like to say that one would be ok, as for me I crave Pepsi and had once had a half cup. It did not affect me and I still continued to loose my #s. I have been averaging 2.85 #s loss a week. I do monitor my calories along with grams of food, so I honestly think that a drink does not hurt every once in a while. I tried it, and this is how I felt so, I don't feel like I have cheated my diet plan with my lapband surgery. Besides diet drinks has zero zero zero everything. Just stay within the limits of what your band will hold at one setting. Be happy and smile, Have a drink every once in a while.

My doctor doesn't discourage us from having soda pop from time to time, after the initial healing from the surgery is complete. Some people can tolerate it better than others. For myself, I really enjoy a diet pepsi every now and then, so about every couple of weeks when it pops into my mind, I'll have one and enjoy every sip! I've never had any problems with it at all. My doctor is geared more towards balance rather than the whole good food / bad food perspective. This is working the best for me and my past relationship with food (either all or nothing). Talk to your doctor to see what his/her take on it is.
