  1. I think it's the food in your stomach causing problems for sure. If you stop eating right before you go to bed you should be fine.
  2. Onderland is when the first number of your weight is a 1- you are out of the 200's. A milestone for many people.
  3. Sorry you are having a hard time. That's great you are motivated to get back on track. Logging your food is a great idea. You may be surprised at how many calories your taking in. I would reduce fat and carbs as well. I have eggs almost evey morning and lean meat and a veggie for dinner. I snack on nuts, beeries and lowfat cheese sticks. Excersise is a huge piece of the puzzle. It comes down to calories in, calories out. When you burn 36000 more than you take in you loose weight. Start out slow and gradually increas your speed/duration. You can do it! Keep up posted on how your doing.
  4. Wow! 5' at 100 pounds. I am 4'11" and weight around 115. I wear size 0 at banana republic and chicos. In regular petites I wear a size 4. I cannot even begin to imagine being under a hundred pounds. My BMI is 23-anything below 25 is in the normal range.
  5. Another thing to think about is that they put saline in your iv at the hospital. I wonder if that's why the scale hasn't moved, water retention. I know it's discouraging to be taking in so little and not see the scale move. Just know that if you keep doing all the right things it will eventually. Keep us posted on how your doing!
  6. I took pictures in my bathing suit- I made a scrapbook. The psychologist involved with my wls team suggested taking a picture once a month- I added the suit and the scrapbook. She emphasized not to look at the pics with judgement, just give your brain a chance to keep up with your changing body.
  7. I have been successful in loosing my excess weight, but the band hasn't been the tool I hoped for. In the process of getting fills/unfills I spent a lot of time either hungry (especially come late afternoon) or getting sick. There didn't seem to be much of a happy medium. I was in a good place for about a month here and there. After maintaining my weight loss for a few months I decided to have a large unfill. I wanted to be able to eat in the morning, before the unfill I was too tight for solids until lunch time, and eat some rice, bread, pasta. Would I do the band again? Probably not. I wish I had given it one more shot on my own, I hadn't "dieted" or excersised in years before I got banded in Nov. 09. Anyway, now my struggle is maintaining my weight loss. I weigh in every day and have managed to stay within about a 5 pound range.
  8. I think you have a good plan. You may have swelling from the fill. After my first fill I got in the car and threw up the water they had me drink. I probably should have gone right back in but I didn't. Couldn't keep anything down that night, but in the morning I was fine. If your still having trouble, call on Monday for sure. If your really tight, it may help to water down the protien drinks, it worked for me. Hope you feel better soon!
  9. you are doing awsome! Keep up the good work.
  10. Yes, call your doc. You want to make sure the surgery is safe. You have the rest of your life a head of you, the few weeks it might take to reschedule is nothing compared to that. I imagine you are very anxcious to get it done- I know I was. Hope you can still go through with it!
  11. When I was loosing, and my band fairly tight, I had a protien shake each morning for breakfast. I highly reccomend that. You should also be eating lunch, you want to keep your metabolism "revved up". How about scammbled eggs or tuna, refried beans, chili, soup for lunch. Something soft should stay down fine. Make sure you are getting all your protien in, even if that means 1 more shake before bed. I know its kind of counterintuitive, but I think you need to eat something through out the day. It may actually help you loose weight by keeping your metabolism high. Good luck!
  12. Don't wait too long to think about an unfill. When I was too tight I suffered much longer than neccessary thinking it was swelling. After an unfill, I had good restriction. I wouldn't give it more than about 3 days and see if your better.
  13. My doc. said liquids for one week, mushies for one week and then solid food. I had no problems. I ate a lot of cottage cheese and apple sauce when I was on mushies. Mashed potatoes and refried Beans are ideas too. My suggestions have lots of carbs, but now is the time for healing, not weight loss. Once your on solids I highly reccomend a low carb diet. Congrats on your surgery!
  14. Are you excersising? If not, I highly reccomend you start. It has so many benefits, just one being weight loss. Start out slow and gradually increase your intensity/duration. It is a huge piece of the puzzle. I think doing shakes and one meal is a great way to get back on track, I do that sometimes. Be sure it is a low carb/lowfat shake. I swear by a diet low in carbs and fat and high in protien. I lost 107 pounds in about 10 months. Good luck!
  15. I agree with above, a protien shake seems to be working for you. When I had my band tighter and was loosing, I couldn't eat in the morning either. I did a protien shake for breakfast every morning for almost a year.
  16. Glad you got a fill and it's working. I think dropping a pant size by Aug. is a realistic goal. Especially if you are excersising and eating lowcarb/lowfat/high protien. Sounds like your back on track, good for you! Keep up the good work.
  17. Hi again, I just did a BMI calculater with your height and doc's goal weight. It puts you at 25- healthy weight is between 18-24.9. Of course you need to do what's best for you, BMI is just a guideline. You want to reach a weight you can maintain. You are right, set small goals along the way. Reward yourself (not with food of course) for hitting those goals. Good luck!
  18. I think you want to get yourself into a healthy BMI (body mass index). You can find a calculater online- just google it. You put in your height and weight and it gives a BMI. I would put in the 174 and see what it comes up with. I think loosing about 125 with the band is doable- I lost 107. It takes work (good food choices, excersise) but it can be done.
  19. My doctor did fills once a month, even sooner if I wanted one. I would go to your doc. and explain how much your eating and how hungry you are. You might even want to keep a journal. With all that data, he may just be willing to give you a fill.
  20. That is awsome! I remember how excited I was to get off my meds. Congratulations and keep up the good work!
  21. Awsome! Fitting in too smaller clothes is just the best feeling. I think it's even better, or at least as good as, seeing the scale move. Keep up the good work!
  22. I have a few thoughts. The first one is too get rid of the junk in your house. If it's not there you can't pick at it. Another is to start excersising if you haven't already. Not only is it helpfull for weight loss there is something about it that helps with food choices. You have come so far, don't stop now!
  23. My 2 cents is to get into a regular excersisie routine. It is a huge piece of the puzzle. There are so many benefits, just one being weight loss. Start out slow and gradually increase your duration/intensity. You can do it! Best wishes.
  24. I was on protein shakes right away after surgery. Every doctor seems to do things a little differently. I had no problems.
  25. I think you are very lucky your body responds so well to weights. Can you afford to hire a personal trainer? Even if it's just for a couple weeks they could give you some help in toning muscle, but not bulking up. I would think if you lighten the weights you are using you will be happier with the results, but I am no proffesional in weight training. Hope this helps and best wishes.
