  1. Happy 29th Birthday montynic!

  2. Happy 28th Birthday montynic!

  3. Nope. No luck yet! My second fill is on Wednesday, 7/7. I have only lost 5 lbs since surgery on 4/1. I have no restriction and am hungry all the time! I'm sorry to hear you are losing your willpower to keep it up... is your doctor at least willing to work with you about getting fills more frequently?

  4. How is it going Nicole? Any luck yet?? I am loosing my willpower to keep it up and can and do eat anything I want :-(

  5. Congrats on reaching Onederland!!! Glad to hear you are doing so well. Keep up the great work.

    April bandsters

I lost 28lbs on the pre-op diet and have not lost a single pound since my surgery on 4/1. I have had 1 fill (5cc) but do not have any restriction whatsoever. My doctor requires 6 weeks between fills, so my next one is not until 7/8. At this point, I would be ecstatic to see a loss of even 1lb! Congrats to everyone who are dong so well. Keep up the great work!
  7. The fill was easy enough, but I didn't get any restriction from it and my doctor requires 6 weeks between fills. My next fill is not until 7/8. I still haven't lost any weight since surgery on 4/1 (but I haven't gained either). Congrats on the 7lbs! I am exercising daily and averaging about 10 cups of water per day. I eat oatmeal for breakfast on most days. Lunch is either some form of salad (with tuna or chicken) or one of the recipes I got from bariatriceating.com . I typically cook chicken or fish for dinner, with veggies on the side. I am still adding a scoop of Isopure protein powder to my morning coffee to make sure I am getting enough protein. I snack on either a slice of cheese, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, or a spoon of peanut butter. Glad to hear things are going well for you! Enjoy your month of no classes! ~Nicole

  8. Hey Nicole what's going on with ya? How was the fill? I just had my 2nd fill yesterday. It went ok. I am down 7 lbs. next week starts a month of no classes for me. I should be able to post more. Are you exercising? I am not getting that much in. What about foods? What are you eating? I could get a cup to 1.5 cups in at a time, but after yesterday I'm not sure how much I can eat. I'll come off the creamy foods tomorrow. I normally do Greek yogurt and some type of berries for breakfast. One of my crockpot creations for lunch and the same for dinner. Snacking on cashews and kashi granola bars. My downfall is salsa and tortilla chips. I drink a couple of protein shots and lots of water during the day. Hope all is going well for you. Patty

  9. Wow I can't believe you have to wait that long between fills! The 4cc lasted about 3 days before I felt like my appetite was increasing again or I mean porportions. I went Wed to dr and he put .50 this time in band and told me to just come back again next week because the week after next he will be on vacation. Normally I suppose to go very 2wks at least for the first two mo. i think. I do feel fuller again. Had my first somewhat puke thing come up and noticed that I can't eat as much....I guess I will know by next week if it goes away or remains the same. I feel for ya. It has to be hard to wait. Take care and hopefully it will come sooner for ya. My doctor confuses me sometimes. He tells me that you don't want to go by feeling fuller sooner....I didn't pay for the band to just say i have it...otherwise what is the point of having it...oh well. Take care!

  10. Glad to hear you are finally feeling full faster! 5cc did nothing for me. I can't even tell they added anything to the band. The doctor requires 6 weeks between fills, so I have 4 more weeks until I can get another one. Good luck at your next fill. Hope you reach the green zone!

  11. Glad to hear from you! sorry it took me a bit to respond. I was feeling down and probably more mad at myself for even being down know that this is a journey. I have no patience and its a struggle to loose weight and then be in fear that your going to gain it back because your not feeling full fast enough! So how is the 5cc doing for ya? I got 1cc added today and so I have a total of 4cc in my band now and finally feeling full faster. I will probably get addl 1cc added next wed until I get to the green zone! Anyways glad your doing ok! Good luck and talk to you soon hopefully!!!!!!!!

  12. Fill went very well. I was still hungry that night but I was on clear liquids (didn't plan on that). I'm in love with the band right now and I hope that this fill last a long time. Scale is on the move and I'm having godd restriction. I hoep you're doing as well. I can't wait to see eveyone's progress at the end of June. We should really see it by then. Have a great day.

    What am I doing wrong?

First of all, you are not doing anything wrong. You are not alone in your frustration. I understand it completely because I have been there. In fact, the only difference in our stories is that I live in Grass Valley, CA instead of Idaho (but I still have the snow problem). I was banded on 4/1. I lost 27lbs on my self-inflicted pre-op diet, which put me at 298 on surgery day. Since that day, I have not lost any weight. In fact, I have gained and re-lost the same 15lbs over and over again. As of this morning, I am at 298 again. I have never experienced restriction. Today was my first fill (5 cc's) and I'm hoping that will get the scale moving. I can definitely feel the difference already. I am having to sip beverages more slowly and it felt like my migraine medication almost got stuck this evening. Restriction is the key! Make sure to get enough Protein. (I average 100-110g protein per day and 800-1,000 calories.) If you are looking for low-calorie, high protein meals, bariatriceating.com has excellent recipes. Hang in there!
  14. I completely sympathize with you on Bandster Hell!!!! I got my first fill today (5cc's). I'm hoping my scale will start to move now. How did your fill go?

  15. Bandster Hell indeed!!!! I got my first fill today (5cc's). I'm hoping my scale will start moving now. I'm anxious to hear how yours goes on the 28th. Hang in there. We can do this!
