  1. Best wishes! How exciting to end the old year and start a new year with a new way of life! Karen
  2. Best wishes, can't help you, but maybe one of the suggestions can! Good luck! Karen
  3. I agree with what the others have said.Bandster hell! It is a time to relearn anything that you have done with eating in the past! Why are you testing your band? Sodas are nono, beer, Pasta, bread, rice? Stay away from those things, think Protein, veggies and then some carbs. But, carbs should be very low on your list of foods to eat. During bandster hell, back in 2009, I was at a pizza party for the grandkids after their Christmas concert. I had 1 piece of pizza, and then my 1st ever sliming and pb'ing started! Not a way to be at the Christmas party. Don't be like me, and I wasn't even trying to test my band! Best wishes!!Karen
  4. Awesome, get out of Lane Bryant, now!!!You need to be in a regular store!!Congrats!
  5. Different strokes, don't smoke either marijuana or regular tobacco! Smoke free for me!
  6. You are so right, I measure carefully who knows about my wls. Close friends, who I have known for years, know, but new friends mostly do not! I, like you, have heard people who think that wls is the easy way. I have a close friend that has been able to lose her weight on her own. She has many health issues and doctors that have given her no choice in the matter. But, she has done it without wls. Hurray for her, and she is one that knows about my band. However, she knows weightloss is not easy and wls is the answer for many. She would not have survived wls! Best wishes to everyone, Karen
  7. Welcome to the site. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! What a great way to start the New Year out! Best wishes, ngcarr. Karen
  8. What kind of pain are you talking about? Is it at the site of teh port, or is it other pain? If it is at the site of the port, it could be just reaction from teh fill. If you are having general pain, you should check with you physican or surgeon. Best wishes, karen
  9. So glad to hear terrydumont46. Best wishes for you and hubby, too!
  10. Not that I am aware. But as b-52 said, check with your doctor. For me, and most people, fills are easy. Best wishes, Karen
  11. Wow! You lost 10 lbs in one week and you are frustrated! Please don't be, now is the time for healing! Many surgeons, mine included, do not allow eating for the 1st 2 weeks, only liquids. Weightlosses vary as much as poeple do! don't judge yourself by others. best wishes, Karen
  12. Welcome luludemon99! Liek you, I seachered for soemoen to understand me. i have been here for 4 years, adn could not be happier. Any questions, I , or someone, will try to answer for you. Karen
  13. Everyone is different, what works for some, doesn't work for others. I have had 5 cc forever, anything more, and I even liquids don't pass through. I keep wanting more, as I have gained some wheight, but I knw I can't handle more. Some lucky folks have never had a fill, otehrs have fileld to teh brim, and don't feel restriction. Now, let me tell you, restriction is NOT something that will keep you from eating, it is just supposed to keep you from feeling hungry in less than 3 hours. Best wishes, don't hurt yourselves by making your band too tight! Karen
  14. HI Rosetta, I am married to a USA Italian. I am 65 years old, have been a lapbander for 4 years and 2 months. I have lost 100 lbs, and gaiend back some. i am trying real hard to stay under 1000 calories a day to jump start my own weightloss. I was not always fat, but afte my 30's adn a hysterectomy, I gradually gained weight to top 245. As a young girl I ws always"pleasingly plump, as they said back in the 50's) but always felt fatter than the other grls. I guess that you would say that I, too, wa at my last shore! I an't say that it was easy, fo rme it wsn't, but it sure was the best! Welcome to our site, Karen
  15. Wow, I have never heard of the drinkng wine with dinner thingy, but heh, its your surgeon rules to follow! My only thing is that alcohol hits me quicker! I am one cheap date, now, 1/2 a meal and 1 drink! Best wishes!!
  16. I hope that you are doing well. It has been a while since you wrote this! The icy one, that sounds fntastic a samll 1 minute timer. I never heard of it, but sounds good to me. It is a great way to pratice slow eating.

  20. That is pretty normal. If you are not walking or taking anything for gas do both! Gas-x is good and walking is better! Best wishes!

  22. Sorry Donna, I am glad that you finally have an answer. I will add you to my prayer list, too! Better the "devil" you know than the one you don't know! ((((hugs))) to you! I can only wish you healing prayes and support for our group! Karen
  23. slomeli84, you are currently in what is referred to as "bandster hell". This is the time after surgery and healing but before your 1st fill! Some very frustrating folks on here never need a fill! (I say this with a smile )! Most of us "normal" people need fills! You are doing good if you can go a few hours between meals. Just watch what you are putting into your mouth. Make sure that you are eating protain 1st, and then veggies and carbs. If you have not spoken with a nutritionist, you might want to for help. Best wishes, Karen
