Can someone tell me how much do you eat each meal? Post sugery?
i don't during the liquid phase you are really measuring your ounces/grams by meal... it is the total per day. 70g of Protein and 64oz of Water per day... which for me means i am pretty much sipping on something all day. did you surgeon have you see a nutritionist? maybe give them a call?

Telling Friends
i am telling pretty much everyone i share my life with. if it is someone i don't feel is positive or supportive in general -- i don't tell them right out. the support i have gotten has been positive and overwhelming. and i think part of that has to do with how positive i am about myself. my confidence about my deicisions in life leave very little room for the peanut gallery.

How soon did you return to work?
i had my surgery on monday and on thursday i was at work after a 4 hour work related road trip (someone else drove). today is one week post-op and i am working fulltime. i really haven't had a full day of rest since day 3 post-op. it is what it is.

Any November 2009 Bandsters??
that is how my room was. in my morphine euphoric state i asked the nurse if it was a room reserved for famous people. she said it was large for the bariatric people... duh. i told her i rather we pretend for the night that i was a rockstar. i could hear her laughing all the way down the hall! :tt2:

What did/ do you tell people about your weight loss
since being banded on monday i am much more confident in telling people. last night i had some people over for book club and when i mentioned it everyone one was so excited and supportive. big grins. thumbs up. hugs. the support and love is becoming overwhelming at times. i enjoy socializing but consider myself somewhat of a loner. as long as i have my daughter with me -- i am happy. it just never occurred to me until this week how much people really care about me. and i never really "needed" it --- but it is sure nice to have it now. one thing i have realized is that i am probably the most obese person in my social circles. so i think my friends and acquaintances are supportive because they only see it about me and not about themselves. and more to that point...they only person who is not supportive is my sister who i keep my distance from anyways due to her overall negativity. and yep, she is someone who struggles with her obesity. still not sure what i will say at work since i work but i will deal with that as it comes. and that has more to do with the cut throat environment i work in with all guys.

What did/ do you tell people about your weight loss
work people --- a couple know beforehand. everyone else will get the star jones treatment: "diet and pilates". if they figure it out -- good for them. overweight people i will tell the truth. i finally made the decision after 3 years of waffling back and forth because someone (actually at work) told me she had the surgery when i asked her about her weightloss and she encouraged me to go see her surgeon. i am grateful to her for her honesty in helping me save my life. i hope to do the same for someone else. family and friends will know as the situation arises. so far everyone has been very supportive.

What will I be able to eat at Disneyworld parks?
disney is very good about accomodating special diets. either ask to speak to the chef at any restaurant (including counter service) and they will make you what you need how you need it. or you can email specialdiets@disneyworld.com ahead of time and talk to them about it. i have done this numerous times for my gluten intolerance and they have always been responsive. i will most likely be up there thanksgiving weekend and i will just be starting mushies around then!

Any November 2009 Bandsters??
welcome. i also have suffered from PCOS for about 10 years. i got pregnant with my duaghter 5 years ago on Actos. it is kind of a well kept secret. i have also been gluten-free for about a year and that has really helped with the pain. 10 years ago i would sit at my desk and just clench it and cry the pain was so bad. i could barely function. now i forget i have it. good luck!

Surgeon not having me stay overnight...Should I be worried?
my surgeon seems to make it our choice (beforehand) with him having the ultimate say after surgery. i have requested to go home the same day. i rather be in the comfort of my own home by myself.

Gluten Free
looking for Soups and Protein Shakes that work for GF folks. i am on pre-op liquids right now and the hidden gluten is killing me and i don't want to be this uncomfortable post-op when there will be other things to be uncomfortable about. thanks in advance.

Any November 2009 Bandsters??
my mom usually does thanksgiving at her house --- so fortunately i am safe there. although i am usually responsible for the sides and specific family ethnic stuff. i should be starting mushie foods right around then so i guess in my mind it makes the idea bearable. i already warned mom that i may take off and do disney world thanksgiving just to avoid eating at a dinner table...
