So this is the story of a yo-yo weightster.  In high school I never really struggled with weight issues.  I was very active so my eating habits didn't really make too much of a difference.  I was between a size 6-8, which for my height was on the slender side.  Then college saw the weight slowly go up...then a few years after college I was up to a size 20.  That was during the phen-phen craze.  So I went on phentermine and lost down to about 160 which was about a size 10.  I married then in 1998.  My husband of now 11 + years has the metabolism of a teenager.  He weighed 125 when we married...stick thin and could eat an entire pepperoni pizza and not gain an ounce.  Of course if I looked at it, I gained...so here we are two beautiful children later.  At my highest weight ever.....what to do.  Weight watchers - tried it, Nutrisystem - tried it, Meridia - tried it....saw the television commercial for lapband...what would I do if I lost the weight.   Started researching it in January 2009.  Finally in June when I went to my ob/gyn and my blood pressure was up for the first time ever, I made the call.  I just went to the lapband website and used the find a physician option.   I called and was told you had to attend the seminar before you could even be seen by the doctor.  So they put me on the waiting list for the seminar.  I finally got the call and went to the seminar in August.  Now I am going to be a December Bandster - 12/18/09.  I am beyond thrilled that there is hope.  I call it my 2nd lease on life.  Energy to play with my kids, the ability to shop without having to go to the plus size section (with the limited options they have), being able to walk in to a crowded room and not feel like everyone is looking at me.  For the first time in 11 years I actually have put my photo up here...I want the reminder of the person I am now, the person I get completely down in the dumps when I see that fat face...the double chin, it makes me truly saddened.  But....I WILL NOT be that person anymore, and I can't wait until I can put up a monthly "end" picture each month to show and see comparison the new person I am becoming.  Best of luck to each of you, no matter where you are in your lap band journey....contemplating the surgery, pre-surgery appts, post-surgery.  You are all beautiful people and I wish you MUCH MUCH success!!!   Lets do this!
