  1. I had my TT done April 2012... i was self pay and so worth the money. I was lucky that i lost slow and didn't need thighs or arms done. I do believe that had in not had had multiple surgeries in the past i could have lived with the stomach also. But after two c-sections, hysterectomy, gallbladder and the band... my muscles were shot it was well worth the 8k.... no drains, no staples. he removed the extra skin, tighten the muscles, did a little back contouring.... stitched the inside and glued the outside. Super happy with my "almost invisible" scare. I was back at work in 2 weeks... Grant you i have a desk job... but for me.. this was a pretty pain-free surgery. Which i would do again in a heartbeat.
  2. Yesterday.... breakfast was only coffee, lunch was one cup of Lima Beans, snack was 6 Jordan almonds, 6oz of Mt. Dew (bad i know). Supper 1/2 cup of home made chili with 6 saltines and snack was 3 girl scout samoas. no exercise due to the fact that i had the grandkids and it was 30 degrees here in Louisiana... I know some of you are saying,... that's not cold.... hell if it an't... lol
  3. so for those women that "loved" 50 shades and want a really erotic read. Read The sleeping Beauty Trilogy ... by A.N. Roquelaure AKA Anne Rice. No they are not vampire books... Im not by any means an Anne Rice fan... I read these book back in the early 90ies, you know when they were in paperback (which i still have). Im re reading them now because she has a fourth book coming out next month. Yes, the sex is graphic and explicit, so if that bothers you, please don't read them. They are NOT for the faint-of-heart. She dives right in from the first pages......But the story wouldn't work any other way. She brings you right along with Beauty into another world, and you can't help but be drawn in by the tempting surrealism. A great escape, in my opinion. It's only for those who enjoy good erotic fiction (this would probably fall into the S&M/Bondage genre).
  4. Im an advid reader and will read most anything if it keeps my interest... I read these because everyone said how good they were... i mistakenly bought all three.... had i read the first one first... i would have never wasted my money on the remaining two... Lexie.... don't waist your time. I read all three in hopes that they would get better... let me sum up all three... Girl meet boy, girl is a virgin...(of course she is), boy become obsessed with her because she wants noting to do with him, she has self esteem issues.... they break down the wall... become intimate... he confides in her his "secrete" ... she is excepting..... (now this is how the remainder of the books go) She does something that pi$$es him off, he punishes her in some sexual way, she forgives him... repeat... repeat... repeat. They were the most boring, predictable book i had read in a long while (Danielle Steele books are like this) I have been asked numerous times to go see the movie with girlfriends and i say... I didn't like the book, why would i waist money on the movie.
  5. Dannii.... Im a little confused.. did you have surgery already?
  6. Chai.... if you don't want anyone to know..... TELL NO ONE. people like to gossip... Even your bestest friends with eventually tell. Especially when they are large people too. When you start losing.. and people start noticing and those people hear and get jealous.... you can bet you last dollar the will say.....Well i could lose too if i had WLS.... then that's all it takes. Just be prepared with an answer... Smile when you do. My standard answer was.... I'm watching what i eat , controlling my portions and exercising.... Which are all completely true. Now when people ask me.... hey, how's your day.... i say... I'M Fabulous.. Thanks Even to my A** hole husband....... Because I am...
  7. im over 5 years post op... and at first when people would say that, it would hurt my feelings. Now it's a whole new ball game... When someone dares to say that WLS is the easy way out ... I turn to them and say Oh really, tell me what you think you know about WLS.... That normally catches them way off guard. I love watching them back stroke.... Then i say.. Well, im free tomorrow for you to follow me around and if it's so easy, you will have no trouble adhering to all the rules that i have to..... Such as... No drinking with meals.. EVER!! No straws... small plates, small utensils, chewing and chewing till your jaw hurts. Eating so slow that by the time your finished it's all cold. to just name a few. then at 5 you can come to the gym with me and exercise... if that don't work i just tell them to "f" off and mind their own damn business.
  8. That was my question also.... who is billing you? I sure in the hell would not pay them. If its the hospital, most of them are really great about working out a payment plan... and another good thing is they are not allow to charge intrest... I agree, the band is a lot of maintenance. When i had mine done, i got one year of fill or 7, which ever came first. Of course the 7 came first... just try your best to get back on track... it really is worth the effort. Remember a 38 lb loss is better than any gain...
  9. haven't.... but i really want too My husbands says thats for "young girls"
  10. Thanks.... i really appreciate you guys letting me in. today is my restart day.... My goal is to not eat any junk and exercise at least 30 min. each day. Mind sharing any of the meal plans ya'll are doing? I don't have a fit bit.... wish i did. If i were to buy one, what would be the recommendation?
  11. I was having the same problem. I woke up every morning and had to drink gavascon extra strength. And it did help. Breakfast was coffee and yogurt or breakfast bar. I could always keep that down lunch something fast. Normally a potato or Soup. But only a few bites. My vice is Mt dew. I can't live with out it. Most of the time I could keep all that Down, but not always Supper, now this is mostly eating out and almost always ended up with me in the bathroom throwing up. Every thing from supper and sometimes lunch would come up There for i knew I was too tight but being hard headed I refuse too go get and unfill. I had never had one (except when I had my TT). So this past Wednesday I gave In And went. I feel so much better. No reflux no heartburn and I have not thrown up since. I'm not saying that this is your problem, but don't be stubborn like me. I'm glad that I didn't do any damage too my band. So please go and see him/her. Good luck
  12. Would you guys mind another person? I was banded 11/09. And got too 143 at my lowest. Two years ago my husband also lost his job. It has been a tough road. He is back at work but is now home every night (ugh). It's no secret he has not supported me on this journey. Now with him home, he sabotages me every chance he gets. From the crap food we eat (out mostly because it's only the two of us at home now). To the snack that he buys. I use to go to the gym after work, but now he wants me to come home "and be with him". This is just his way of keeping me from going. In turn I am now at 160. Which I know is not bad but I felt so much better in the 140ies. So for the first time in two years Wednesday I went to the dr and got a 1cc unfill. I was way too tight and struggled with eating everything. I feel so much better. I have even lost 2lbs already. I really need the help and would appreciate your support Thanks Chris
  13. I'm glad I had my LB surgery. For me it was the best choice. Like I said before my husband has never been supportive. It has been a hard road that's for sure. Would I have done better with his support.... I don't think so. Would it have been a happier road.... Yes. We still struggle everyday. Five years ago a veteran bander told me that if you have a good marriage to start with you should be ok. I thought back then we did. But I have come to realize that we don't. And for now we are hanging on by a thread. I hope you all the luck in the world and I hope you keep us all posted. Chris
  14. My husband didn't want me to have surgery either. But I did it any way. He thought the same thing.... That I wasn't that big and I did t have health issues. He said.... You can do it if you really want to. He just didn't understand how hard it is. He like your husband is very insecure. He didn't have a weight problem he is s 6'4". So fast forward three years and 80lb lighter he HATES that I lost weight said that my losing weight was the worst thing ever. He hates men looking at me and the attention I get. I would suggest that you do some couple counseling if he will. If not the probability of yall lasting is slim. My husband won't go and as a result our marriage is in trouble after 24 years. But it m so glad I did it anyway..... For me and no one else. Good luck
  15. I bought mine from a company in the UK. I know it's scary, but I have bought lots and have never been disappointed. Once I had to return a bra, but it was because I didn't read the discription. I sent it back with no problem. Belle Lingerie: Womens Lingerie, Big Bras, Plus Size Bras, Bikini www.belle-lingerie.co.uk/
  16. It was a great visit. He took out 1cc and I can feel the diff already. He thinks the marriage issues I'm having is contributing to my reflux and weight gain
  17. Omg. I know exacting how you feel. In fact I'm on my way to dr now to get back on track
  18. you own them NOTHING.... no explanation. it's no of there business. I felt the same way when i had surgery. That i had to hid what i was doing. My standard answer to .... Wow, you have lost some weight, how did you do it..... I simply said, I watch everything i eat, cut down my portions and started exercising..... which was the truth. and then i walked away.... unless it was one of the bitches that use to say bad things about fat people, but who has now gained weight..... To them i would say... the same thing, but i added...Wow you have put on some pounds... what happened to you? Watch there face and the expression, flip my hair....and walk away.... boop!!
  19. im re reading The Beauty Trilogy..... by Ann Rice AKA A.N. Roquelaure..... She wrote these books in 1983, 84 and 85. Best Erotica i have ever read. Makes 50 Shades read like childs play.... the last of the books is being released in April... so im re reading.
  20. so i just went back and re read this thread.... i miss these fun days.... Hey... any knew "progress" lol
  21. i really wish i could say that it got better.... but no, if anything it got worse. So i was pretty vague with my post.... so let me explain better. We have been married 24 years. And in those years he has seen my weight go from 100lb to my highest at 230. He never said anything about me getting fat, but our "relationship" was strained to say the least. He never wanted me to have surgery, but i did it for me... No one else. When the weight started coming off i have to say it got better. He was "interested" in me again. Went from twice a year... to twice or more a week.... I was in heaven. I loved all the attention. But then other men started noticing me and he saw that... and didn't like it one bit. He has even said that me losing weight was the worse thing ever. We are back to once every three months or so... which is terrible because i woke up one morning with the drive of an 18 year old boy... lol. But i hang in there.... for how long, im really not sure anymore. I think it must be wonderful to have a spouse that supports you and encourages you.... so too all of you that have that.. i envy you..... I know that Envy if the Thief of happiness.... but i do.
  22. good for you blue... i need to do the same... miss ya
  23. I feel great.... happy everyday with the choice to have the LB done.
  24. Oh... my beautiful CG.... you are such an inspiration too so many... myself included. I remember the first time someone said that to me... OMG it hurt so bad....Of course i left and went sit at my desk and cried... Then i sat an pondered... my response for the next person that said that too me. So now i just catch them off guard and say.... O really, and why is that? And when they say, I didn't need a surg to do all the work for me.... I say... good for you... neither did I. Then i say... the band doesn't stop you from eating and it doesn't drag my ass to the gym.... I do all that. My band is no more to me than a person that Does WW, Jenny Craig, Nutra-system... etc. With out counting the points, buying the "food" or taking diet pills.... Nothing works... Dahhhh. Only things that do are eating right and exercising.... Fast forward to a few years later...in the grocery store.... Me, looking fabulous... lol... Happens to run into that person.. I am now a size 6-8...... She is now a much larger size (i won't say the size to not offend). But it is double digits.... She says wow Chris you look great, you have lost so much weight, that LB really worked for you.... I said, well thank you Cindy, yes the LB has been a great tool, but i have worked my ass off in the gym 5 days a week. But thanks for noticing. (me doing the eye scan... up and down looking at her and say)... But what happen too you..... You use to be so skinny. How much have you gained..? She just looked at me .... I then looked at her and said.... You know, i go to the YMCA M-F... Maybe you should start joining me. She looked at me and said... we'll see.... I said.... you have a great day now... Smiled and sashayed off. Karma.... creaked up on her and bit her right in the A$$.....
