  1. Please don't mistake my post .... i'm deff. not judging you and if it came across that way... im sorry.... I was just making sure i read that right. I have the band... What happened that you got your out if you don't mind me asking
  2. @@Band07 So you had the band, then sleeve and now your going for BP? My sister in law had her first band (2008 i think) done in Mexico... 4cc and it didn't work our for her at all. she didn't lose anything, in fact, she got bigger. So a few years later, she had her band removed and a new one put in place (it was around 2010ish). she lost a few... but not anything to brag about. 2012ish she had that band removed and got the GB done... she has done really well with this. She reached her goal weight in about a year. Now on the flip side, I have had 5 other friends that had GB... All of them lost extreme amounts of weight..... All of them regained it with in 4 years after surgery. Just saying...
  3. @@Rizzle01 Might i suggest... and this is only a suggestion... as a person who has had her band for 5 years..... Before you make the decision to get it removed.... have all the fill taken out first. This will tell you if you really have your eating under control. I would hate for you to work so hard to lose your weight only to re gain it back. Especially that you are self pay... When i had my TT, the PS removed all the fill, it was the first time in years that i could eat "normally" (by other people's standards). That is when I.. Me... no one else.... Realized that I NEED MY BAND. I found myself eating things i had not eaten in years... Hot dogs on a bun... Hamburger on a bun... Grits pizza (thick crust and i ate the crust)... Then i realized all these things i had stopped eating because of the band... Was a great thing... They are all bad for us. So, back to my LB Dr. i went for a 5cc fill... So don't get caught up in.... this is only temporary... Take it day by day. and in the end, make the choice that is right for you.
  4. Well I hated my lose skin and im so happy with my TT. My husband didn't want me to have it... not because he is ok with the skin, but because he hates the "attention" that comes with it. I was luck in that i didn't have bat wings and the boobs started as a 44H and are still a 34H... No deflating at all... I do wish some would have gone away. But it is what it is.
  5. I absolutely love Eureka Springs..... it's about 10 hours from me.... Hot springs is nice too. A few years back we rode the Harley up there... great ride.. Except for the chicken shit smell... hehe... NW Ar has a lot of chicken farms...
  6. Ak.... congrats on deciding to make a change in your life. I re read my post and im terrible in grammer... lol.... but it made me cry a little... to think back at how sad i really was. And too admit, i have started feeling that way again.... Not that i am "fat" by normal standards, im still a size 8. But i have put back 20 and feel defeated somewhat. Scared.. too. Scared of the unknown, of the what if's.... What if i can't get my ass back in gear and do what i know i can. Depressed because i have no support at home with my husband. Who just yesterday said that my LB was a "hobby"... can you believe that... A Hobby... He hates that im no longer "fat"... he said.... your not fat, your thick.... where other men will tell me im Hot, beautiful, sexy... not him... im thick. We went through a time where sex was great... 2-3 times a week... which was a vast improvement from 1-2 a YEAR... We are now back at 1-2 a month.... if im lucky. So as you can see... my problems have not been with the band... it's me. My emotions, me letting people get in my head when i was at what i felt was my best and they said.... Your too thin, you look sick and your face look sunk in.... Stopped going to the gym because my husband refused to pay for membership and every time i went to go... something always comes up.... Shame on me for letting him get away with that... I hope that you have a great support system at home... it makes things so much easier. I have been lucky (knock wood) that i have had no major issues with my band and have only had one unfill 1cc ever. I do feel better and my eating is getting back on track. So i know as soon as i get back to exercising... i will lose this 20... hell maybe 30. I wish you all the luck in the world and hope i didn't discourage you...... WLS is a God send for me no matter what...
  7. What types of sweets are you craving? One thing I did when I had a craving such chocolate. I bought the best chocolate I could afford. Broke off one piece put it in my mouth and sucked on it slowly. Let it melt. By the time it was gone so was my craving When cooking. Keep something at arms reach. Tonight while cooking i had watermelon cut up. This stops me from eating items out of habit
  8. One night I went to bed a 40-something year old and woke up and 19 year old horny boy. Lol
  9. yep yep yep..... 5 years out and still do this. Mostly when i have forgotten to eat all day and now im starving and i eat too fast... Like last night... I need to get back to cutting my bites in pinky finger nail size... that helped me.
  10. What a great story... done that.... Been there, on accident and on purpose. I really had to go and the line was so long in the womans bathroom... so i went in the mens.... They didn't mind. Hey, when you got to go, you got to go.
  11. @B-52..... you have always been one of my favorite people here.... Thanks for sticking around
  12. i liked that we could have a side private chat if you wanted...
  13. So im not the only person that has thought that..... I love the race and dream of going on there...
  14. Glad to read that you are doing great. I like you had minimal pain. I had a reg. TT 2/15/12. My PS didn't do drains... Which i was glad for. I could not be happier with the results. Im not sure how you feel about tats.... but my friend and fellow Lapbander... Lellow has some amazing pic of how she covered her scar with tats... It's not for everyone... but i think she look HOT.. Go look at her before and after pics...... Wishing you continued success...
  15. Same thing happened to my friend Lori... except she had not had the band before.... But she had the sleeve done and something happened that she had to get a stent in... She too had a long stay in the hospital, and came out... 60-70 lbs lighter. She was one of those people that busted her ass in the gym and could not lose weight. Now what she was eating behind doors.... i don't know. But one would think she would lose something... any who. She decided on the sleeve, which i completely supported. She is doing much better now. She has lost prob. 150lbs or more. Looks great except for all the loose skin due to the rapid weight loss. I know if anything happened to my band i would sell a kidney to get the sleeve... i will do what ever it takes. but I would do the sleeve.... I pray i never have to make that decision.
  16. I wish Alex would bring back the chat room.... OMG the words that were written in there.... Nothing was off limits. Now some of us just chat on Yahoo... Some of the best post are when the men invade or the women invade the "special room".
  17. We use to have some pretty steamy convo in the chat room. I miss that room. Lol. A few of us had a group called lapband nymphs..... Bunch of horny women. Man I miss that group. Lol
  18. steve.... I understand ..... same thing happened to me after my TT and i could look down and see my Precious... i was sooo happy... I said.. Well hello there, long time no see. Here's an old post for yall from the "old Lapband group" http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/171887-is-it-true-what-they-say/
  19. Just wanted to say hello.... Elode... can i join in on the trouble making?
  20. I worry about this all the time..... I know going in that it was a possibility. and i still am hoping for the best. My mentor and friend had the same thing happen... But she was having issues. She would get a fill and couldn't hold anything down... but if she got it removed... she could eat anything... I had a fill and did great... then all of a sudden i was having trouble keeping supper down. Breakfast was good, lunch ok... but by the time supper came around... what ever i ate came back up and took lunch with it... it was like i was backing up. Anyway, i went and got 1cc removed and i do feel much better... i can eat and no reflux for throwing up. So, i guess for now i will keep my fingers crossed. Plus my new insurance won't cover removal or sleeve... so i just have to keep it in the Lords hands... and pray for the best
  21. you just wrote exactly how i felt.... after my weight loss i was in pretty good shape... My arms, legs, breast were pretty good. Meaning i didn't have bat wings, saggy thighs and my breast cup size stayed the same..... My issue was the stomach. After two babies, and multiple surgeries my stomach was beat the hell up. I was fortunate that i didn't' have stretch marks on the top of my stomach... all were in the Pelvic area. I too struggled with the "unknown", in fact i posted something a while back about this very thing... I went back and forth with should i or shouldn't i .... And my husband didn't want me to have PS either. Then one day i thought.... I didn't give up all the thing i gave up, bust my ass at the gym everyday to still not be completely happy with my body.... And i wanted to wear a bikini... DAMN-IT.... So i did it... i had my TT.... i have not regretted it not one single day. Next to WLS it was the best gift i gave myself. I wish you luck with your decision.... which ever you make Now do i still look at my self and say... I WISH.... hell yes i do. Im almost 47 and the wrinkles are showing more and the grays are coming faster... but i have to say... all in all, im good with me.
  22. Sleveee... how did you know something was wrong with your band?
  23. I swear you read my mind.....lmao
  24. Love this post.... Lets seeing come from a a very large family. My dad has 20 brothers and sisters... I survived rape at 13. I had a child, got married and divorced before I finished high school. Which I know is nothing to brag about but I learned to survive. He was a drug and alcoholic who cheated from day one. Put myself through collage while raising a kid alone. Fast forward..... Last year I knocked a few things off my bucket list.... I got my concealed carry weapons license and became a certified range instructor. And stared in my very first play at our local theater. I was Barbara in Murder most fouled up. I had the best time. I have two grandkids that most people think are mind. Lol This year I plan to sky dive
