Hang in there. You can do it. I was on a 7 day pre-op diet and the first 2 days were the worst. Keep yourself busy and it helped me to keep people I knew and trusted around me. Makes it less tempting to cheat if you know they will see you and call you on it. I ended up losing 12.5 lbs that week. You can do it!
  2. I am in the same situation. I am 2.5 weeks post op. I felt restriction until about 4-5 days ago. I am just trying to watch what I consume. I get a fill 1/14. Hopefully that will help. I wish I had more advice for you. Good luck.
  3. 60lbs. That is Awesome!!! Sorry to hear you were sick after your fill. I don't think I could have went 4 weeks. I have my first fill on Jan 14th. I am nervous but excited! Seems right now I can eat alot and am hungry alot. I am guessing that is because my swelling is going down. I just keep telling myself to hang on for 8 more days. :tt2:
  4. Yes I had complications with the anethesia the first time and could not stop throwing up. I am not a puker so I could not figure out why I was throwing up non stop. My Dr. took all the fluid out of my band the day after surgery. He said it came with a little in it. That helped for a couple of hours and then I was back to throwing up. He admitted me into the hospital the next day and did a barium swallow and could see that because of all the vomiting I had herniated part of my stomach over the band. The second surgery was a piece of cake though!
  5. Hi! I was also banded on 12/17 and rebanded on 12/20. I still have some discomfort especially if I have drank too much or eaten a bit too much. Mine is mostly under my left ribcage. I also felt restriction until about 4 days ago and now I feel no restriction. People say that is normal though. Your swelling is going down and that swelling was causing the restriction. I have my first fill on 1/14. I am hoping that gives me a little restriction again.
  6. Hi Ky Gurl! I just wanted to let you know that I took the plunge and had my surgery!!! I had my surgery 12/17 but had a few complications and had to go back in for a 2nd surgery 12/20 but am doing great now. I have lost 23 lbs so far. How are you doing?
  7. When did you have your surgery? My biggest fear is that I will not be successful. I was always thin until I started birth control pills. Then I gained weight like crazy. Shortly afterwards I was diagnosed with poly cystic ovarian syndrome(PCOS). That was 6.5 years ago. I workout like crazy and watch what I eat but despite all of my efforts and diets my weight continues to creep up. Do you know anybody who has had lapband that has PCOS?
  8. I am considering lap band. Would you recommend it? I really want to have it done but I am scared.
