  1. My scale moved a little this morning. I've lost two pounds since Monday morning. 231 Now just one more to be at goal, but I need a few more because I'll be wearing clothes. Should I make an appt to have Bev weigh me next week? I'm sure I'll be ready! I so want a surgery date right now!! I'll be eating as close as possible to zero carbs until I get my date. This week I stuck to much lower carbs and it helped a lot.

  3. Shylady, I don't know anything about insurance companies or appeals because I have Kaiser, but I wanted to come and give you a virtual hug. This will all work out. You've done everything you were suppposed to. If I were you, I'd start a new topic about appeals or search the forum for information. You want to get as much response as possible. I'm sure there are others that went through the appeal process and are now sitting on the Loser's Bench. Hang in there!
  4. Josephine, can I ask what size sleeve you have? Thanks!
  5. Good Morning! I'm so sorry I missed the meeting last night. If I knew it was going to be Liz I would have swam there if necessary. Kicking myself now. Oh well, hopefully I'll have a meeting with her very soon. Scale still at 231.4 this morning. I know I'll be at goal next week. I wonder if I should make an appointment with Bev for next week to get weighed. Tamra, how you feeling this morning? Running late, couldn't fall asleep last night so slept till 6:15. Time to run! Have a fun day everyone and stay dry!
  6. Every program is different. My doctor doesn't want me drinking protein shakes, either before or after surgery. I have to admit that I've been having some to help me get to my pre-surgery goal weight.
  7. Tiffy, you're gonna give the term "hot mama" a run for it's money! Congratulations!! We'll miss you while you're off baby making.
  8. Tamra, I'm so happy to see you up and posting. YAY YAY YAY!!! In a few days you'll be flying around with so much energy. Congrats on being down so low? Yup, we all want to know, the the MOM finally kick in last night? Mo, I'm glad you didn't go either tonight! I just didn't want to be there and have it start pouring again. I live close to home and just wanted to get in and be warm and snuggy tonight. Riley, so cool that you spoke at Kaiser today! Hi to everyone!! I'm cutting way back on the carbs to get to my goal so I can go see Liz. I hope to be down a little morning tomorrow!
  9. Ash, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Tamra, wake up and come talk to us! Nicole, I'm so happy to read that the surgeries are being scheduled in Feb/March. I should be able to get weighed next week, then call for a Liz appt. Mo... I didn't make it to Kaiser tonight. Weather is too bad and I was starving so decided to come home to make dinner and chill.
  10. My doc said he's going to use a 40 on me. I may ask him about that next time I see him. But truth be told, there really is very little difference.
  11. YAY!!! What wonderful news. I can't wait until you're home and can tell us your surgery story!
  12. Quit talking to your mom. We're all worriers. She'll try to convince you that it's a sign when in reality it's just a storm. Operating rooms have tons of generators. They don't stop mid-surgery. Yours is a quick procedure so don't worry.
  13. Oh honey, I'm so sorry. You know they'll get it all back up and running and you'll be first on Dr. Baggs agenda. Can you find a way to laugh about this?
  14. YAY Tamra! Doing the happy dance for you.
  15. Good Morning Everyone! Tamra, you probably won't read this, but I woke up at 5am and started sending lovely healing thoughts your way. I know that you're going to do terrific! I'm inching my way towards an appointment with Liz. Monday - 233.2 Tuesday - 231.6 Wednesday - 231.4 I'm hoping to go get weighed in soon. I need to be at 237 at home so that I'll be 230 with clothes on. Have a fabulous day everyone! Could someone please send me a PM when you hear from Tamra? I'd really appreciate it.
  16. Hypn, A woman in my office had the gallbladder removal with my surgeon, a month after me. She didn't have problems with any food except Chili. My first weeks after surgery were scrambled eggs and well toasted sprouted wheat bread. I kept it very simple. We're all different, so expect the best and you'll create a wonderful outcome for yourself. We're all here to support you.
  17. Thanks, I think I'll buy some now so that I'll be on a good routine for Sleeving.
  18. Marci, thanks. I know I'll be fine. I just want to work from home so that I can nap and relax as needed. I too love my Kindle. I'm on an account with friends so that we can share books. I played with a friends Wii and it was fun, but I don't think I'd use it much. It seems like something I'd get tired of. Now Beatles Guitar Hero, that's another story! :thumbup1:
  19. I get my plain nonfat Fage at Costco in a quart size for $6.99.
  20. Tamra, what fun to come home from work and read all your updates. 6:30 will be here before you know it, then surgery will be over and you'll be on your way home. I fractured my ankle on Thanksgiving 2007 and July 2008 had a long surgery to fix everything. Then November 2009 had my gallbladder out. I came through both like a champ so I'm not at all worried about you. I know you were feeling a little nervous but you're going to do fine. Surgery at your young age is a snap! It sounds like Maria gave you a great rundown of what to expect. I bet that MOM will kick in at some point and you'll feel like a new woman. Has your mom already taken your daughter? I'll say lots of prayers for you in the morning when I wake up!
  21. Hello Hypn, I had my gallbladder removed on 11/2/09. I'll tell you what my surgeon said. "Eat low fat and you won't have any problems post op". She said that when someone eats a lot of fat, they get diarrhea that can last forever. (that was probably to scare me). But I did notice that if I ate something fatty I ended up right in the bathroom for awhile. That lasted for about a month, then I forgot all about it. I took the week of surgery off work to just hang out and recover. Did you ask them why they need to do the surgery "open"?
  22. Deedee, I loved having my Kindle for my gallbladder surgery last November. So light and easy to hold. I was just thinking last night how much i'll appreciate it after my Sleeve surgery! I'm planning to work from home for two weeks after surgery. That way I can work/get paid and still nap whenever I need to. I'm hoping to have surgery on a Thursday and start back working the following Monday. That said.... sometimes the best laid plans don't turn out like we expect. I can always take another sick day if necessary.
  23. Tiffy, this is wonderful news!! Have you posted anywhere the supplements that you're taking? I think that would be a good resource for us pre-ops.
  24. Excited, I'm glad you found something that works. I drink the Muscle Milk Light for breakfast. Easy to take to the office. I buy it at Costco by the case. They're only $1.37 each that way. I don't have to do a liquid diet pre-op but I'm trying to do more protein shakes right now to get to my pre-surgery goal so that i can get a surgery date.
  25. I know some of you are looking for a little more support. It never hurts to add more along this journey. A place where I hang out on OH is a forum called Lightweights. It's for people with a starting BMI of 35-40ish. Mine was a little over 40 but I asked to join and was welcomed there. The nice thing is that it's for all WLS, not just Band or Sleeve. So if any of you would like to join me over there.... cool! ObesityHelp - Gastric Bypass, LAP-BAND
