  1. I would love a buddy! feel free to pm me. I am also new to this process, and have no one in real life to talk to about the process. I was banded 10/16/09 and I am feeling fine. The surgery was very smooth. I was so wrecked before, I feel silly now. Heidi
  2. hooray for you! I was banded on 10/16/09 and things have been going well, not the speedy weightloss you are having, but healing well. for mushy, I did a lot of tuna/mayo for Protein, canned chicken/mayo, veggie Soups
  3. I feel the same way in my desire for privacy. That would have really bothered me. I hope he will be more discrete from here on out
  4. I also really limited who I told about the surgery. Support is not created equal, and not everyone knows how to be supportive. I need people that know, to be my cheerleaders, not making boneheaded comments.
  5. H i Friends, my name is Heidi and I was banded in Mexico 10/16/09. I have a food addiction, and I need support, learning to channel my emotional eating into a more productive way of relieving stress. So far the healing process has gone well, but I have had a heap of stress lately and I feel this intense drive to eat, eat, eat. ugh.
  6. I am also a Mexican banded patient, looking forward to finding a good fill doc. I have heard really good things about Dr. Fitspatrick, but I really want fluo for my first fill.
  7. I was worried about the same thing, with my mother, so I made a point of sending her an e-mail saying "I am not sharing this with anyone" I hope she takes it to heart. I am so sorry you were "outed" in that way. That would have hurt my feelings
  8. I am also struggling wtih protien, and I find "Designer Whey" a good resource. It is only 100 calories per scoop and it offers 18grams per scoop, you mix it with 3 oz of water, so the serving size it right...
  9. Hi I had my surgery on 10/16/09 and am a two week liquid phase... it hasn't been that hard. today my port area is hurting, but prior to this I have had no pain... I would love a buddy to go through this with, feel free to pm me if you like!
  10. I had my surgery in Mexico 10/16, and i am feeling pretty good. I have had some reflux, which is a little scary, but I think it is from drinking too much at a time...
  11. I am in Portland, and wouldlove to meet other bandsters. Heidi
  12. Hi Heather, I was banded on 10/16, in Mexico, and while I felt good pretty much right away, it has been hard being back, and dealing with family meals. We went out on Friday, and i just sat there, drinking water... not the end of the world, but weird. I have not told many people about my surgery, so I can relate to how hare that would be, if someone "outed" me, against my wishes. I would love a buddy to get through this with, so feel free to pm me if you like. I hope you feel better soon. Heidi
  13. I am one week post op and things went very well. The hospital was clean & modern, the hotel was lovely. the only funky thing was the pick up and drop off- the van driver was an idiot, stopping at McDonalds for himself. WTH? and dropping us off way too early. I thought Dr. Kuri & his team were very good. People tend to gush and rave about their weightloss docs, and I am not that type. I paid and I expected good service, and got it. Very simple. I would recommend him to a friend. I had my mother go with me, and I did think that was helpful, had I felt crummy- I felt ok, but it was nice to have company
  14. feel free to e-mail me if you want details about my experience
  15. I had surgery 10/16/09 with Dr. Kuri in TJ and it went very well. I am feeling great one week post op, and the experience was very positive. The only bad thing, was the driver was really lame picking us up wayyyy too early for our return flight, in an effort to avoid making two trips. The hospital was very nice, clean and efficient, the doctors were good and the service excellent. I felt totally safe, secure and well cared for.
