  1. I was at the gym today and after changing into my regular clothes i was drying my hair - in front of these HUGE mirrors which i despise,, but I caught a side ways glance at myself and actually saw for the first time the changes my body is doing,, smaller - not a lot - im only down 36 lbs... but i saw that it was working and that is a huge HUGE thing for me.
  2. I cant beleive the nasty comment about this,, i thought it was cute lol made me laugh - and in a way was as silly sounding as trying your own fills sound to me.. just my 2 cents.... laugh a little.
  3. i am suprised they let you out of the hospital not able to keep liquid down, mine kept me and extra 3 hours because i was vomiting every time i sipped my water... make sure to take your water very slow, you might want to try some apple juice i know for as long as i can remember when my stomache was upset water was a big mistake. Try some sugar free hot cocoa too, the warmth will help the swelling go down. dehydration can come on fast - if its really been since the 11th that have not been able to keep liquid down i would head to the we for iv treatment sooner than tomorrow sometime...
  4. Im am wondering if anyone else has this problem, my previous post got me some good advice on possibly needing a slight unfill, however I am question that at this point - During the week, lunch break at work and dinner as soon as i get home dont go down well at all.. i end up stuck, pbing, hurting,, feeling horrible.. but i am off on saturdays and sunday, and home - I was able to eat a small sandwich on super duper thin bread toasted and had NO problem!!! I am wondering if going out to eat and eating at work dont work work for me because I am stressed or rushed or self conscious. It seems that if i have dinner 2-3 hours after getting home from work i am relaxed, can eat slower take my time and have no problem - fill after about 1/ cup of food .... I found today - after a huge fight with DH that getting upset and worked up causes me great discomfort in the center of my chest and where the band is.... Anyone else notice this happening ?
  5. my concern about not talking to your doc is IF something goes wrong and you didnt tell him will there be a liability problem,,, ?
  6. I would just ask your doc, he may say there is no need to take it out. you never know.
  7. I just want to thank you all for the posts,, i read them all and feel better about a few things i am going through - i have been sick with a cold, sinus drainage,, yuckky and my throat feels swollen and raw i thought it was pbing and food gettin stuck and a few instances of vomiting the past few days, but reading about post nasal drip tells me maybe that is causing problems for me - also it seem what i am calling vomiting really isnt - its pbing makes me feel tons better - also the going back to liquids aafter something being stuck, i was just saying before reading this that since i have had quite a few stuck issues the last few days i was going to go to liquids incase there was irratation from everything.. im babbling,, but thanks.. very good info here in the post.
  8. Your wife needs a attitude adjustment - she should be supposrtive and happy for the changes you have made and will continue to make - if my husband said something that made me feel they you do i would flip out.. crazy i tell you !!! 2 lbs a week is perfect - running is fabulous!!! I never exercised before this but i bought a gym membership 1 month ago and while i have not been in 3 days because of a horrible cold i was hitting it 5 days a week doing things i had never done, weights, eliptical.. and if i want a god damn cookie i have ONE!!! im sorry, but your wife needs to look in the mirror and ask herself why she would say anything hurtful to with the progress you are making,, shame on her!
  9. I had a fill on the 24th bringing me to 4cc - went back to weeks late to make sure all 4cc was there because they thought i might have a leak, at the time they added anothe 1cc bringing me to 5 that was on the 4th. since then i have been having a hell of a hard time - liquids are find if taken slowley - smooth soups like tomatoe are ok - anything solid resulst in pain, pb'ing a few instances of vomiting. I dont know if i am too tight, eating to fast or too much - I am full on 3 oz of yogurt - just not sure whether to call for an unfill or not. help please..i feel horrible
  10. I was missing 2.5cc - i went 2 weeks later for a fluid check and it was all there and it was all set.. nothing missing.
  11. Leslie where are you ??? I tried calling my office today because i had a question but they were closed as well for weather
  12. nope - thats why I have a dr.
  13. Wondering if anyone notices they can barley eat breakfast and lunch, in fact my breakfast is a shake that leaves me full for hours and lunch - regular food - i just can not do - but by dinner i am able to eat less than a cup with no issues.. i guess my lunch is going to have to be soup and mushie food. anyone else have this problem?
  14. i do a protein shake or oatmeal or cream of wheat.
  15. I had a fill on thursday that 1cc, 2 weeks before that i had 2cc -- i went from 2cc to 5cc in 2weeks, it was a bit much but i had lost fluid in dec at some point and i think my dr was trying to catch me up- However i had a hard time with liquid for 2 days then they got better and i was able to add mushies, they were hard but then got better - today i was able to eat some chicken breast... i am VERY tight,, i feel it the minute i swallow but its getting looser .. id wait a few days and keep trying the liquid.
  16. after that fill that brought mt to 5.5 i did liquid for 2 days and musie for 2 days , it was all good. I had this fill on tursday, I am still doing liquid however i had a little bit of chili last night but it was mostly the liquid part - i ate maybe 1 /4 cup and was full - there was a little discomfort as soon as i swallowed and i felt it stop in the middle of my chest but it went away pretty quickly and about 2 hrs later i was able to eat a rice cake - had the same discomfort but it went away . right after the fill i was able to drink the water they gave me but it took about 45 min.
  17. I think you have to take into account - and this is just my 2 cents - when people are posting about problems it is because they are looking for help - but when people are doing and feeling great they probably dont start threads that much - I dont think there are more regreters and people happy with their band - i think its just the *why* they are posting that makes it look that way sometimes.
  18. I honestly was not ready for a fill last week - I was only oging in to see if my band was leaking and when i was done he said I added another 1cc bringing me from 2cc to 5cc in 2 weeks - that is why i think i am incomfortable and can only get 2 or 3 bits down at a time. I am waiting it out though to see if in a few days swelling goes down and things loosen up,, my dr usually does fills 5-6 weeks apart but i think he was trying to play catch up with since i had lost 2.5 cc at some point - I rememeber right after my fill that brough me to 5.5 i had this same feeling for about a week then things got much better and i had good restriction for about 2 weeks then it went away -
  19. I had plantar Fasciitis for a while, i finally went to the dr and she sent me to physical therapy - it worked wonders!! the iced and massaged and taped my arch with special tape.. it felt better right away , it healed it and its been gone for 2 years.
  20. I have pain and sliming with every meal right now, but i had 2 fills in 2 week totally 3 cc.... i am doing liquid for a few days i am confidant it will get better.
  21. I started with a empty band on 10/13 got my first fill 5 weeks later 4cc - 5 weeks after that another.5 went for my third fill 2 weeks ago to fine that i was missing fluid - a whole 2.5cc -- left the office that day with 4 again and this past thursday went in again for a fluid check and thankfully all 4cc was there and he added another 1cc for a total of 5cc -- i am very tight right now struggling to drink my protein shake, just had 4 bits of thin oatmeal and im done -- i feel the restriction as soon as i swallow - honestly it borders on uncomfortable -- waiting it out to see if there is swelling that will go down in a few days or if i have an overfill now..
  22. I have no idea, I have harvard pilgram and they paid 100% of my surgery - the only our of pocket i had was 500 for the education class i had to take and copays at 10 bucks.. and even then the first 3 months the fill and follow up visits had no copay just had the first one yesterday.
  23. I can eat toasted bread - i can eat the bread on a tuna melt ( like grilled cheese) Bread and butter - sandwiches un toasted.. forget it
