  1. So glad to hear you are mending and feeling better too. I really feel this is why I had the surgery to FEEL better and I do too. God knows right where we need to be and he will keep us there too. Have a good day.

  2. :thumbup:Hey Girl! Don't be discouraged, it is just LIFE happening. You will get through this and God will help you, he is there always. He knows the things that will happen to us before we do. I never did get acid reflux after the surgery, but I sure did before. I have heard others that have had a lot of it afterwards. A friend of mine had pneumonia and was vomitting a lot and that will cause the band to slip or move and may cause surgery so you don't want that! You will overcome this and be strong and get that added weight back off again, I just know it. I will keep you in my daily prayers and want to see you well and in good spirits soon.

Something I want to share with you.

Lord, I trust you. I have said, "You are my God", My life is in your hands. Psalm 31:14-15 NCV

Lord I place my seconds, minutes, hours and days in your hands. God I thank you for restoring my hope for the future and Lord build up my friend today and give her strength for tomorrow and the future. AMEN

  3. Hey I am like you I love the pot roast! Roast period, yummy, if I can't have much food then give me the food I love!!?? Right? I substituted the potatoes with asparagus and brussel sprouts at the last minute, still had the carrots and they are soooo goood in the soup portion. Just miss the Southern Corn Bread that went with it! LOL but If I ate the bread, then I would not be able to hold the stew. I am looking forward to fall, it is my favorite time of year.

  4. I know about the baking thing on rainy days, I wanted to bake some brownies so bad. But I didn't. Learning the way of the band. I like your avatar photo! You have a lovely smile. Best wishes.

  5. Hi, Hope you are doing well. I am slow go, but still going!

  6. Thanks Debra, love to see you on here and your recipes and blog!

  7. Thanks again, this is a path we are all trodding, just not alone! Glad you had the hernia now? Just kiddin, I had one too and the Dr. fixed it at the same time as my band, did not even know it!

  8. Thanks Sandra~I feel led down this path, but not alone!

  9. Thanks so much for your feedback on my post today! We are all walking a path, may it be right and good and blessed.

  10. Hi, It may have been the purpose of timing that gave you a reall good "replacement" walking buddy today. You had good alone time with God! We are all on the same journey in life, this is a good path for us!

  11. Just wanted to day you look awesome, keeping it off now will be easier with the band. I am one year out and counting the pounds away too! Hope I lose and look like you in a year!!! God Bless.

  12. Thanks so much for your sweet comments, I welcome them anytime! I know you are excited and scared and that is certainly natural, I had to keep telling myself, "This is what you wanted, what you have waited for" Then I prayed and all my fears left me, I was certain this Band was for me and my lifetime, what I would have left. I have been so much happier these past months, even tho they have been a new challenge for me. I am more positive about what I know, want to do, and just life in general. A whole new life and outlook on life await you, God Bless you and I will be praying for you on the 11th! Welcome aboard, lets keep in touch.

  13. Hi, Thanks for the sweet comments and Bandiversary Wishes. I feel so blessed, and I love this site. Ya'll really inspire me!!! I just turned 58 and sure wish I had done something in my 40's too. The band was not available in the US and I did not want the Gastric Bypass it was so dangerous at that time. I would love to have enjoyed more activities with my children, that being heavy prevented me from doing, or I was too ashamed of my body to do with them. I was an active Mom with them, but reserved. I feel so glad that I have a chance to do some of those things with my grandchildren, they will think I am a silly granny, but fun here I come! Have a wonderful day!

  14. Thanks so much for your kind wishes on my Bandiversary! This site is wonderful for inspiration. The Lord has really helped me to get a grip on my life, the lapband has helped me to regain my confidence and desire to plunge forward with my life and live it to the fullest each day. Have a wonderful weekend.

  15. Thanks for your sweet Bandiversary wishes, you all inspire me too, this is a great site! God Bless whoever started it! Hope all is going well with you have a great weekend.

  16. Thanks for your sweet comments for my Bandiversary! I think blogging is a way for us to look back and see where we have come from. I was definately afraid to post photos, but now glad I did. Looking back, it is getting harder and harder to remember that person I used to be. Thankful for that! LOL

  17. Thanks so much for your sweet wishes. I truly trust that the Lord is on my side, he has helped me through so much this past year. Hope all is going well with you.

  18. Thank you so much Ken for your nice comments on my Bandiversary. I started logging my food once again yesterday, which is hard for me to get in the habit of doing. I just don't want to! Ha! But I will because that really forces me to look at what I am eating. I want to lose about 25 more lbs and then maintain. I have a year to do that in my goal. God is on my side so I feel I will make it!

  19. Thanks so much for your kind comments, I have come so far, but with a long road ahead and want more from this change. It will come, I believe it too. I am a work in progress as we all are. Tomorrow it will be one year since my surgery and I am down about 90 lbs or so, give or take a few lbs for the up and downs in my life, I can live with this loss. Hope all is going well for you too!

  20. Hi, Following your Blog! My daughter is also a Teacher. I have another daughter getting married in October and I have to get busy losing some more weight and order my dress. I have to challenge myself some more. I need to get back to writing the food I eat down and more water too.

  21. I too slow down and people ask me what size are you now? How much do you weigh? Rather that give them a play by play which is really none of their business, I just say, I am getting to the size I want to be! Faster than I thought possible, and I weigh 91 lbs less than I did a year ago. Just be general, they won't press the issue too much then. I did not want to dissapoint my Dr. and I wanted to lose 10 lbs per month on avg. But you CAN'T! When your body has dropped about 50% of its excess body fat, you WILL SLOW down and you won't be able to help it! I am losing 4-5 lbs per month now, and that is OK with me. Tell them this is a three year journey. The band does the most for you the first year, but for three years you can expect weight loss to occur if you follow a sensible eating plan. I am looking forward to year three now with great anticipation and I am going to work harder at toning up now too. Best Wishes!

  22. I think it is very BRAVE in annoucing that you had the surgery! Cute Blog name too! Love it! I told almost everyone because I was so happy for ME~~and I have never regretted it. MOST everyone was very supportive, except those few who would be jealous, but never were very complementary before either, so I just moved on! God is so good and provides me with daily encouragement! And I love this site too, because it gives us a place to share a common thread and vent as well. Welcome aboard, I am praying for you continued health and success!

  23. Thanks for my birthday wishes! It was a great one! Had a little biscuit instead of cake last night at Red Lobster, I just LOVE those tasty things, but I ate at it slow so it would not get stuck! I was happy on my birthday! NOW Back to the losing game! Low Carbs, High Protein!

  24. Thanks so much for your Birthday well wishes. I did have some cake, not too much the day before my birthday, but last night at Red Lobster, I went for a biscuit instead, I LOVE those little things. They are so darn tasty! LOL I ate it slow as to not clog up anything. I had shrimp scampi and crab legs, very good! I too do not feel shame, real life will always happen and we will fit into it nicely! God Bless you!

  25. Thanks so much for my birthday wishes. I had a great day, went shopping with a friend out to dinner and to a movie. Saw Knight and Day, it was a cute movie! Gained a lb this morning, but ate at Red Lobster! It was so good, no cake, but I did sneak one of those little biscuits! Hey, it was my Birthday, right?
