    September 2009 Band Date

Kimberly, you are going to do GREAT in MX! I am getting more and more excited as the hours tick on... the nerves haven't really set in. It's been really nice going over everyones story, and although we are different people, the experiences are about the same. So I have an idea of what is ahead, I feel prepared and am ready to start this journey... I've got the rest of my life ahead of me, I might as well enjoy it! The liquids? I am used to it, it stinks when the family is having something yummy for dinner, like my fav chinese food, but I know I will one day get to eat some of that in the future (just in significantly fewer quantities). The interesting things about being on a high protein liquid diet for me is after the first 4 days, it becomes more difficult to consume that much because I end up not being "hungry". I just couldn't imagine being on a liquid diet for the rest of my life... that would *STINK*

    Best protein powder?

I am a HUGE fan of Syntrax Nectar Protein powder (got it online) They are fruit flavors vs vanilla or chocolate or "strawberry" - blech. My personal fav. is the carribean cooler, is like a pina colada to me. I do like the apple, I'm gonna try the fuzzy navel and cherry flavors next. The plus for me is that it is about 23 gms protein, 0 carbs and only 90 calories.
  5. Congrats on your surgery date! Only days away - WOO~HOO!!! :D

Just looking at our huge list of Surgery peeps... hope all is going well for everyone and your surgeries!
  7. UGH - so yesterday I came down with something nasty, was throwing up what little I was drinking... by the end of the day I was starving, but had a sensitive tummy. Was able to get some gatorade in me and some saltines. I know I am supposed to be on high protein liquds, but my body would have revolted. So back to the liquids today, and am doing fine. Looking forward to Thursday!!!!!

I am just so excited for all of us Sapphire Banditos and our new birthdays. If I had a tail, it would be wagglin'
  9. I was having dinner with my grandparents a couple of weeks back. They were visiting from out of town. She proceeded to tell me that she has had a hard time keeping weight off her entire life, and has probably lost 200 lbs in her 76 yrs on this planet, but she's doing it, by-golly. She continued to tell me that my cousin has tried very hard and has been successful at keeping her weight off, and said "your cousin would be big too if she let herself go" - Like I'm purposefully let myself go, like I haven't tried like mad to get this weight off, like I am taking the easy road - HA... Water off a ducks back, baby! I told my parents, they got all wide eyed and said "she said that?" - I love my parents!
  10. Woo~Hoo! Congrats Kimo - and welcome to the losers bench!

    Never Again...

What a fantastic post! As I read over this post for the past 20 minutes, I laughed, I cried, I found myself in so many of you. Thinking I was REALLY Fat at a size 16... and here I sit squeezing myself into a 22/24, with belly chub hanging everywhere... would love to be in a 16. (ok, confession, I'm actually wearing pregnancy pants today *sigh* :blushing:) Looking forward to next year when I can enjoy rollercoster rides! Like some of you who carry your weight well... when I was delivering my second daughter, the nurse was shocked I weighed 271 at that time, asked me where I was hiding it... kinda made me feel a little better at that moment. Never again... will I get backhanded comments from my grandmother that I have just "let myself go" Never again... will be shy of having pictures taken of me
  12. I was wondering the same thing... good to know

oooh-oooh-oooh! Put me on!! September 17th!
  14. Yup... liquid diet... woo-hoo . I know it's all for the best though. Makes the liver smaller, easier to work around... don't want to create any additional problems for my surgeon... so drink, drink, drink... then pee, pee, pee... and for good measure... pee some more ... which reminds me...
  15. How are things going? You still gonna go through with everything? You know we will be here to support you! I can't do it on my own either, I need this tool.

  16. Where in Southern OR are you? I am in Brookings... I'll be getting banded next Thurs (9/17/09) up in Coos Bay with Dr Tersigni.

  17. YA~HOO!!! We will have the same band-day! Yeah -US!!! :blushing:

OMGoodness!! I am so excited for all of us here. To all of you going in today and by the end of this week - my prayers and thoughts to you for skilled hands and speedy recovery! I am on day 2 of my pre-op liquid diet... yipee (not :frown:) o-well, it is for the better. Already down 2 lbs... which reminds me, I need to go drink some more water... My favorite protein poweder to date is the Syntax Nectar Protein Powder . Yummy fruity flavors (I especially like the "Tropical Cooler" - kinda like Pina Colada) Has 23 gms of protein, 90 calories and 0 carbs per scoop. Mixes really well with water - and I am really impressed with the flavor! Makes it easy to get my protein in liquid form!
