  1. I am going to say something that will probably get me blasted by a lot of people. I drink diet sodas. And am sitting here kinda buzzed on Mikes hard lemonade. No problem with band. Am down 60 pounds since January. So it is possible to drink sodas and alcohol. Now.....i wouldnt recomend it on a regular basis. Diet sodas can most likely expand your pouch. The carbonation can give brutal gas/burping. And the alcohol is empty calories. But my feeling is that anything in moderation is OK if you realize what you are doing.I rarely drink and only have diet pepsi (not coke) occasionaly. I have lost weight steadily and plan on keeping it up. But if I deny myself totally I am more likely to fail.
  2. I fly every week with work. Have had the band since Jan 20 2010 with no issues.
  3. I agree its not that easy. I travel with work also and am having issues. I have lost 60 pounds since January so its working but its hard. Eating on an expense account and being alone all the time makes making good choices difficult. You just have to try and do your best. Sorry I dont have a majic answer. The band helps me...tells me when to stop eating....but I feel your pain.
  4. I'm in....kinda a big goal but I want out of the 300+ range.
  5. I started at 377 and am down 50 pounds since January. Not quite 400 but I saw it coming. I am much happier now.
  6. I was banded the same date as you tamra. Congratulations on your start ...keep up the good work.
  7. Great job. I go thursday for my fist post band visit. Hoping for a decent loss!!
  8. I had mine Wednesday....its getting better everyday. Today is the best so far. Some pain but very tolerable.
  9. Me too on the 20th. I cant wait for it to happen.
  10. I laughed when I saw your post. Not at you but at myself. Never really made it a goal but it has been in the back of my mind. And this tells you how long I have been fighting the weight. I have been hauling a pair of jeans around for over 20 years that I bought and wore exactly once.I always wonder if I will fit in them again. They were the begining of there at the beigining of the weight gain....maybe at the end too.
  11. I agree second chances are great. Everything is lining up this time. Visit to cardiologist ok. Re-visit with surgeon ok. Pre admission testing ok. Just waiting for the 20th !!!
  12. Just wanted to say I am glad to be getting a second chance. Was supposed to be baned in the begining os September. That didnt work out because they discovered I had a-fib during the pre admission testing. So after getting cleared by the cardiologist last week I am now scheduled for 1/20/10. Was tough and kinda depressing for the last 4 months but I held my own. Am still down from alltime high but havent lost anything in the last few months. Am looking forward to my new life with the band.
  13. My date is 1/20/10. Been a long time for me. priginal date in September got pushed back. Am ready to get started !
  14. Well I am attemping to get surgery done again. First time didnt go to well....found out I was in a-fib during the pre-op testing so never got the surgery done. I got clearance from the cardiologist last week and have a surgery date of 1/20/10. I am hoping for better luck this time.
  15. Well today was supposed to be my date to get banded, but it didnt happen. Something came up with the pre admission testing, so am going to cardiologist again today. What really sucked is that surgeon called last night and told me they would have still done the surgery today if I wasnt on blood thinners. So its off to get test results today nad hopefully talk to the surgeons office about a new surgery date thats not to far off.
