  1. I am also getting banded on August 24th - have my final appt with dr. and nutritionist next friday. seems like mostly what I read is that people have more trouble with the liquid diet than the surgery. Sure hope the surgery is as easy as everyone says! It's so good to hear about everyone's weight loss. Makes me excited!
  2. Thanks guys! I feel a little better - I guess I still get amazed that people are just so negative. I had my pre-op testing and spoke to the nurses and the anest. and feel better about the surgery itself. How long will it be before I can start lifting my grandchildren again - they are only 1,3 and 5 and I know that I am going to have a hard time not catering to them!
  3. Hi Everyone - I'm getting banded on 8/24 and I must admit I'm really scared. I had a really bad surgical experience in the past - almost died , so this goes to show you how much I really want this. It's a little hard though - husband and sons, daughter-in-law, family members are all thin. Glad I found this site cause as much as they all love me - I'm not sure that they can really understand all I'm in for. I've got about 100 lbs. to loose and fear failure - just like all the past diets. Plus people can be a little tough - told a girl at work about my upcoming surgery - she said "oh yea, I know someone that did that - it didn't work" another girl said "well my husband and I looked into it - but you only loose weight right at first because you are on liquids" Whew - I need some serious positive feed back , so bring it on bandsters! I really want to succeed.:frown: Want2bligter!
