I did the request to change my user name,,, it's been 3 days,,, how long should this take?

Hey Ashley0814,,, we are 2 days apart,,, started my 2 week diet today! Getting sooooooooooo excited,,, I think that's what will make this liquid thing for 14 days seem ok :-)

My date is the 21st. Started the journey in March, did 6 months of pre-op testing, waited for insurance and now,,, here I am,,, started the liquid 2 week diet today!!!

ME TOO! I have 2 weeks to go,,, my surgery date is Oct. 21st. What's yours?

Well,,, 4 days till my pre-op appointment, 5 days till my 2 week liquid diet begins and 19 days till my surgery! yaaaaaaaaaaaaaa me! Haven't heard anything from my doc's office about the EKG so perhaps the heart doctor's paperwork from last year will be enough. I'm praying it is all fine and good and we are still on for Oct. 21st! Sorta like my new birthdate:-) The healthier and slimmer me!:thumbup:

Today was my physical and blood work. My EKG came back a little off,,, but I've had one in the office before and it does that. I went last year and had the full heart testing done with the heart doctor to make sure, so I'm hoping my surgeon will feel that is good to go. I have a surgery date of October 21st and I really want to get this thing done. I go for my pre-op appointment on the 6th and then on the 7th I will start the liquid with green veggi diet for the 2 weeks before surgery! WOW,,, lot's to think about and to mentally prepare for,,,,,,,,,,so excited and nervous,,, should have never watched the video of a lapband surgery!

October 21st at 1pm is my day and time to start the most important phase of this journey. I start the liquid diet on Oct. 7th,,, that should be fun! Just gotta keep the end results in mind and I'll do great!:scared2:

I think I'll be at Memorial Herm. as well. The insurance won't pay for them to do it at the new hospital on 290 at Huffmeister, that's where my doc's office is. Something about them being so new,,, it has to be a more established hospital,,, I'm sure it's some sort of insurance thing,,, don't know, don't care:-) I like Memorial Herm.,,, my last 2 babies were born there,,, great people! Got my surgery date,,, Oct. 21st. 7:30am:-) I'll have a physical with blood work done next Monday, the 28th. I'll see my surgeon for my pre-op appointment on Oct. 6th and I'll start my liquid diet then. yaaaaaaaaaaaa for me:-) Soooooooooo excited! I'm glad to hear that you are doing good! I can see where getting in and out of the bed would be uncomfortable. Maybe you can get the doc to give you your other meds in liquid form? Have you had to use the pain meds much?

I just got my date,,, OCTOBER 21st,,, 7:30 am!!! :-) I have a physical on Sept. 28th,,, my pre-op with my surgeon on Oct. 6th when I'll start my 2 week protein shake diet,,, YUM! :-)

Well, today I was adding up the days since my paperwork had gone to Cigna and I decided to just call them and see how their time frame was going. The guy said that I was approved and gave me an approval number! WOW,,, didn't know what to say, caught me off guard,,, in a most awesome way:-) It couldn't have come on a better day. After watching "The Biggest Looser" last night, I kept thinking today if I should go through with it or not. BUT,,, I said ta ta to all those thoughts when I got the confirmation from Cigna :thumbup: :crying: :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

Woo Hoo for YOU! So, did you stay a night in the hospital? Are you sleeping in the recliner because it hurts to lay down? The pills you are taking,,, pain pills? Wow,,, Hope I'm not asking too many questions,,, I'm just so excited to have someone to chat with that has just gone through the surgery as I'm getting ready to schedule mine. My approval couldn't have come at a better time,,, I was watching the Biggest Looser last night and I kept thinking perhaps I should cancel all this and just crash diet again,,, after my approval came in,,, all that went out, lol:-) Well, you rest up and feel better. I'll be praying for ya!

I just spoke to Cigna and I have my approval!!!!! WOO HOO!!!! :thumbdown: I called my doc's office so we can get this thing movin, lol:-) My thoughts are with you susan 0978,,, I'm sure you are out of surgery now and recovering quite nicely:-)

Clays,,, that sounds so familiar,,, is there one somewhere in Spring,,, or use to be? If I remember right,,, they had GREAT cheeseburgers! Well girl,,, this time tomorrow you will be on your way to a new you! I have a friend that is worried I might change afterward's,,, I told her I plan on it,,, I plan on changing right into those smaller clothes, lol:-) I'll keep you in my prayers tonight and tomorrow,,, enjoy that burger!

Nope, never been put to sleep,,, silly that it worries me hu, lol. I've heard people say their taste change after the band,,, I wonder why? I wish mine would change and I would just totally hate chocolate and bread, lol

It will be hard I'm sure,,, but just think about all those diets that we all get on,,, some of them are horrible and we stick with them only to loose a few pounds and gain them back,,, darn fat cells,,, just laying in wait for you to eat again, lol Just keep the thoughts of Christmas coming and getting to buy a smaller outfit,,, and then next spring and summer when we will all be wearing nice cool and cute shorts and tops!!! That will be the thing keeping me going,,, along with being thinner and more energetic to keep up with my little ones, lol:-)

You go girl,,,:biggrin: Go for that cheeseburger. From what I read,,, it's going to be a bumpy road for a few weeks after surgery, so splurge:-) I'm sure I will do the same thing, lol My doctor says I don't have to do the sleep study. He said that if I had a history of sleep trouble then he would ask for it,,, he also said no upper gi and I know a lot have to do that. I will have blood work and stuff like that. I did the 6 doctor appointments for 6 months, diatitian and psyc doc and a letter of need from my doctor before Dr. Wagoner's office would send in paperwork to Cigna. It's strange how so many doctor's require different things,,, makes me wonder if I wish he would require it,,, I'm terrified of being put to sleep, strange hu, lol,,,, all the stuff they are going to do to my tummy and the recovery pain stuff, and I'm worried about being put to sleep, lol Do you work? If so, how long have you taken off work? I'm hoping that a week will be ok,,, not to be completely recovered, but to be able to get around and drive.

I will keep you in my prayers that all goes smooth:thumbup: I'm still waiting,,, no letter yet,,, I keep telling myself I should start a very low cal diet to get myself started,,, but then I get that crazy mentality that,,, "O, this might be the last time I get to eat ALL my enchiladas" Crazy hu, lol Look forward to hearing more from yall!

Well,,, I've done all 6 months worth of pre-op requirements that included 1 doctor appointment each month for 6 months, I dietitian appointment and a psyc evaluation. Now, it's a waiting game for Cigna. I'm ok with this wait even though I'm very excited to get it done,,, it was harder I think waiting the 6 months and having to keep up with all the doc appointments. My surgeon says Cigna has UP TO 45 days to send the approval letter,,, I'm hoping for less time,,, especially since it's 45 business days! Hope to be back soon with more info:thumbup:

Hey all,,, I was hoping to find some banders in the Houston/Cypress area that are already banders or that may be getting banded very soon. My proposed date will be around the end of October. I'm waiting on my insurance to send my approval letter which is due in about 2 weeks. Cigna can take up to 45 days but Dr. Wagoners office says they have only been taking 30,,, sooooooo,,I'm getting excited:thumbup:,nervous:confused: and all sort of other emotions, lol:-) It would be great to have someone close that is going through the same thing,,, perhaps even get a local support group together and meet ever so often to talk about our experiences. Hope to chat with someone soon:-)
