  1. When I used Medifast I liked the Hot Chocolate it was very good and full of protein. I drank it in the summer or winter.
  2. Found an old post of yours. How did your surgery go? How are you feeling? Hope all is well with you.
  3. I know you must be excited about your surgery date. I was banded in July and have been very happy with the process. Hope you will be too. I will be happy to talk to you any time.
  4. I only have 2cc and seem to be fine that is only my first fill. They say sometimes it takes some time to kick in even up to 2 weeks so hang in there maybe restriction will come. Let us know. Drink lots and lots of water. If you like coffee with FF creamer and some equal that kills any hunger I have.
  5. My Dr says no cokes whatsoever and I am reading 4 different books about Lap band and they also say no cokes. Some say the carbonation is bad for the pouch. Trust me if I thought there was a way to drink it I would but I do not want to waste my money spent. There should be some information if you go under the search section and type in drinking cokes and check posts.
  6. The band will help you with that habit. But it is better to do it the easy way and start now. So you will not get food stuck. Do not be disgusted with yourself just realize we all eat some types of food faster than others. I am banded and I have noticed if I eat watermelon I eat too fast and always get these really bad hicups that warn me to slow down now. You and I both need to build our self esteem, it will help both of us throught this process.
  7. I hope you have someone to be a supporter even just one person that makes it alot easier. Or after surgery go to a Lap Band support group in your area. I am only 8 weeks post op but I am so happy with how the whole thing works. Eating is easy and the weight comes off for me at only 2 lbs a week but I will take that. I know everyone says this but it was one of the best things I have ever did. I was self pay so mine process was really fast. It is a little scary but I hate Dr. and hospitals. Sometimes I think that is why I only had one child because I would have to go to the hospital again. I work out every night on my total gym and walk when I can find someone to go with me, but perfer being inside. Let us know how the seminar goes and if you are going to go for it.
  8. I agree with everything Restless Monkey said. I went to counseling for 2½ years for my depression and have learned some coping skills that I try to use. But when my husband and I discussed the surgery we talked about the possibliity that I might have to return to counseling if need be to cope with any new emotional things that might bother me since my “friend” would be around less and less
  9. Good for you!! 6 years have you had any problems? Any advice for someone 8 weeks post op? Thanks!
  10. What an encouraging story. You should be so proud of all you have accomplished. I can't wait for my turn to be where you are.
  11. Wow you have done really good!! And you are feeling good about yourself and life that is GREAT!! Good Luck!
  12. From what I understand the psychotherapy session is to see if you will be able to follow the guidelines for the band. I did not have to go to one because I was self pay but I read that on here. I have clinical depression and have taken meds about 5 years for it. I did not notice it get worse after surgery. If anything I was filled with hope concerning my weight. I am 8 weeks post op today, and my depression has not changed because of the surgery for better of worse. I might have mourned my lost of diet coke but that is about all. I am doing good and have not had any problems with the band at all. One I got a piece of banana stuck for a minute but coughted a few times and up it come no problem. Now I do think that as an emotional eater that you will miss your friend . . . if your friend, is food like mine was. That does take some willpower. I am an emotional eater and just like any lifestyle change you have to make changes in how you act when you want to eat for emotional reasons. But it has been eaiser than I thought it would be. I hope that help some.
  13. WOW!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! You have done GREAT! You should be so proud of yourself!!!
  14. I was banded in July and have had no problems of any kind with my band. I can not feel the band but can feel the port. It does not hurt I just know where it is so if I touch there I can feel it. It is the best thing I ever did concerning my weight:rolleyes:
  15. I found this for you. “My liver shrink diet was low fat, low carb, and low calorie (and low taste LOL) with shakes and 1 meal. I think you're on the right track with a "lean Atkins" type of diet.” Go up under SEARCH and type in help shrinking liver and mark POSTS and it will bring up people's post about shrink your liver. Hope that helps!!!
  16. I am in Hitchcock out by you! I am 7½ weeks post op. I am happy for you that your getting this surgery if that is what you want. It has been great for me, I have had no problems so far and hope I don't. I have had only one fill so far and lost about 23 lbs so far. I did not have to do a pre op diet because I was self pay and the Dr. did not require it. Are you going locally or in Houston. I went to Dr. Spivak in Houston I loved him, but I need a support group to go to close by. His meeting are in downtown Houston at night. I have not gone yet. Feel free to private message me with any thing I can help you with. I do not know about the insurance process, but there are a lot of helpful people on this board. Keep in touch!
  17. Oh I agree, thats what I mean it does not matter how many hands touch it they are still the “Inspired Words” of God. God inspires people to do things even when they do not know what they are doing. God works through many people for His purpose. Also I agree it is only our job to spread the good news and the Holy Spirit does the rest. I try to do my part but shy away more than I should. I have enjoyed this thread.
  18. I totally agree. I love Him so. No one could ever convince me He does not exist. I don't think I could convince someone else He does exists, they have to believe, I can only tell them what I know is real to me! I will alway believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God regardless of how many hands it went through in tranlation, I feel it says what He intented it to say. :sneaky:
  19. Oh feel free to private message me anytime. With any question if I don't know it we can find it somewhere on this board.
  20. Your surgery date is one day after my 49th birthday, I bet you are excited. You're starting on a whole new journey.
  21. Welcome!! Have you had your surgery yet? I am 7 weeks post op. I have only had one fill so far, and have just lost 22 lbs so far but hoping it will pick up some. You will like the people here they are very nice, sometimes it gets a little heated but most times it is fun and informative, Welcome!
  22. I know there is a God for He lives within my heart!!
  23. I think you will feel good afterwards. It is some work but I think well worth the work knowing hopefully you will never see what you lose this time. Good Luck to you! Also congratulations on the weight you already lost!!!
  24. Glad you enjoyed that big steak and the cake was a good ending. I should have had some cake!!! After I was banded we had 3 Birthday parties in that month and 2 in August, that was a lot of cake to pass up. But I did. Do you have family that are supportive of the surgery? That always helps. I know this sound “girly” but also be sure to take a pillow with you for the ride home (bumps) to hold against your tummy in the car and when you are walking, it really does help. I walked with mine for 3 days when I did my 30 minutes walk.
  25. I am doing good. I am down 22 lbs since surgery and have had no problems at all. I have only had one fill but look to have another one soon. I do love my band and look forward to the future.
