tightness question
I wish I knew the answers. I am very tight in the morning and until about 2:00 pm or 3:00 pm. I can only get Water or coffee down me at that time. At about 2:00 I eat “Lunch” and later in the evening “Dinner”. I never can sleep so I am up until about 3:00 am or later. My husband goes to sleep around 10:00 pm and I have all those hours alone. And that is when I want to eat. I try to stick to sugar free Popcicles. But it is a struggle every night. But this week I am not going to have anything but water after 7:00 pm and see if it helps with my weightloss. Another Lapbander does that and she says it helps her. I was like that right after surgery and I am a year out this month and weightloss is slowing down to nothing. Good luck to you try to drink more water in the evening and see if it helps with real hunger. Head hunger is a totally different thing. I am sure that is my problem. Also if your “Dinner” meal contains too many carbs I think that can start you on a roll for the night, just craving more. Try a protien snack instead of a carb. Cheri

"god" wants me, needs me, shows me....
God judges His people not to destroy them, but to bring them to repentance, forgiveness, and redemption. Communion with God is the highest activity of which people are capable of. The Biblical doctrine of prayer, however, emphasizes God's character and the necessity of being in a right covenant relationship with Him. (Jn 4:24) and that God does not therefore automatically “hear” every prayer. (Is. 1:15).

Obama was not the choice of Christians. But he was the choice of the people. God did not come to vote. He gave free will to people and they went down to the polls and voted. And now look what we are stuck with.

What do I need to take along to the hospital?
You should be asleep is you have surgery in the morning! Be sure and take a pillow to hold up against your tummy for the ride home. I walked around for days with a pillow pressed up on my tummy. It helps with pain alot. Also I would take some chewable gasX and take some right after surgery.

"god" wants me, needs me, shows me....
I think when I read a thread that starts as this one did that it seems to draw me to it because it is human nature to defend those you love, so I read them and although I do not have the same knowledge as pattygreen does I still feel the need to defend what I too believe in. Just as you defend what you believe in. Is there a reason you feel the way you do? Always felt this way even as a kid?. If it is okay to ask. I read the Christian Bandsters thread too. I guess I am just not a debater, which is what these threads are all about I just seem to take it too personal. Cheri

"god" wants me, needs me, shows me....
Still waiting on the rant and rave on Santa! You are so hard to talk to. I am not trying to change your mind, but you won't change mine either. It is just hard to see people put down someone I owe my life to and depend on everyday to be put down all the time. This is someone I love. Can you understand that and respect that? If I understand and respect that you are not a believer. I really am a nice person but it hurts like is someone was talking about my husband or child. But God is most powerful and all knowing and He can take care of Himself. But I feel hate from your posts is that what you want to send? Cheri

Stalled at i year out help
Thanks everyone for the advice. I am going to run the bleachers at least 4 times a week and do the total gym the other 3 nights. I probably eat less than I should but I do try to stay away from all sliders 99.9% of the time. I am going to try changing everything up because even if the LapBand Dr. says 183lbs is good and I should be happy. My regular Dr would say that is not a healthy weight, but better . Any and all advice is welcome. I see a lot of people continue to lose after a year and that is what I want! Cheri

What my Dr. trying to hide?
I say be glad you have a Dr. who does fills slower so my only gives me .5cc at a time and each one except the 1st one has kicked me the butt. I have a 10cc band and I am a year out tomorrow and only have 4ccs and I am fighting with eating now. Cheri

Stalled at i year out help
Next week will be a year out for me. I started at 251 and now am at 183, so 67 lbs. I have been stalled out for a couple of months now. I workout almost everynight on the Total Gym about an hour. Twice a week I do the stairs at our high school football stadium that takes about an hour of going up and down stairs. I have a 10cc band and have 4ccs in it. I got a fill a month ago of .50cc and I was tight the first couple of weeks but now one day I am so tight that I gurgle when I drink and throw up and the next couple of days I can eat just fine and then here comes the tightness again. But here is the question; How are you still losing at this point of a year out. I know two people who have stopped losing at a year out also. I still want to lose 30 lbs more. My Dr considers me a sucess and pretty much said I had lost 65% of my excess weight and that is what I was told 50% of excess weight at the time of surgery. He went on to say I might lose 1 -2 lbs a month, yes I said a month here on out. That just kills me. I want to finish but I am trying and not much is happening. I might be too tight but I have throw-up a lot since I first got the band and I always have had floro at each office visit to make sure everything in in the right place and working right. I takes only a small amount of fill for me to feel restriction. I never have slimed but I do throw up more than I know I should but like I said I have done that since the beginning. If I have ever gotten stuck it ALWAYS has to come up it NEVER goes down. So anyone got some suggestions to get things moving. I still eat the same food I ate while I was losing weight and still working out, get my protien and drink all the Water. Any advice? The 3 of us want to hear it. Thanks!! Cheri :cursing::confused::scared2:

How do I break through a plateau?
You are tough, I pray I could find a way to get a band. Would have been nice if God just put it there. Would have saved me $13,000. Cheri:smile2:

Finally got my first fill today!!!
I am so happy for you! You have been waiting a long time. Maybe that is why you had so much trouble at first if you already had some fill at the time of surgery?

All for nothing
I too suffer from clinical depression. That was one reasons I had for getting the band. It could help me lose weight where nothing has totally gotten rid of the depression. Death also plays a large part of my depression. I told my husband I could not deal with both issues and he agreed. But you know in all our lives there are times when we just have to dig deep inside ourselves and find that inner strength that we like to believe is not there and use it daily to dig ourselve out of this pit. Yes you might not can fix your depression but if you are not in counseling please find one because it helps so much to get all of it out. Sometimes just speaking what you feel helps so much because it is no longer just in you . . . it is a spoken thought and you have shared it so it is not yours alone anymore. I think you should go visit your Doctor and see where you stand as far as fills and get started again. If you be honest with yourself the weight is only adding to you depression, I would think it did with me. I wish you so much luck and please have hope that you will get through all of this because you will. Think about what your Grandmother who you loved and loved you would want for you. She would not want you to be so unhappy. She would want you to enjoy living your life. I know it is tough but you sound like you have been strong in the past and I believe you can be again. You just have to take baby steps. Please keep us all posted and know you are not alone in the depression or the weightloss challenge. Cheri
