    unkind drs

I think you should inform the company that employs the Dr. Think about him doing it to someone with fragile mental health causing them to spiral or worse. I agree that this person is a bully. People do that stuff because they continue to get away with it. I would've released the Crackin on him for sure.I would've asked/demanded to speak to to the office manager immediately. I would have TOTALLY shamed him. There have been occasions when people have erroneously mistaken my politeness for weakness, but never twice. I'm sure you'll do what's best for you, but I hate to think of him victimizing people one after another. He needs a reprimand. I'm really sorry your Dr. is so highly unprofessional & mean-spirited. This would have eroded my confidence in him. He sounds like a sadist.
  2. I think I took it several years ago, but it made me emotional & mood swingy. I also have a heart murmer (I was born with it), so I was afraid to use it in a long-term way. They took a diet drug called fen-phen off the market because it was giving people heart attacks or other heart issues. Phentermine was part of that. This drug scared me.
  3. i have fears for sure but I don't want to stay huge like I am currently. I am almost always hungry & can really put it away. I usually eat once a day. I'm looking forward to not being hungry all the time. That will help the cause. I start pre-op diet in the morning! 2 weeks until the surgery! Send good vibes!!!

    Juicing?

Juicing is supposed to be very healthy for us, but if you have a nutritionist, please run your ideas by that person. I personally will be juicing. I start my pre-op diet on Thur. So scary! Good luck to you.
  5. Thanks for sharing your story of victory. It is really encouraging and shows how this thing you have seemingly done for yourself and your health has a positive ripple effect into the world. When we improve ourselves, it makes the world a better place. Wishing you continued success.

2 weeks 3 days away from surgery!

Best of luck to you all. My date is July 24th. I'm really scared, but luckily, my Mother said she would go with me. At 1st I was going alone. I'm so grateful to my Mom. I start the liquid diet on Thur. I hope I can do it successfully. I'm having a problem with not drinking when I eat. I'm so use to washing it down, especially when it gets stuck. I don't eat on a regular schedule, so Its hard to get my drink in 30 min before. I'm going to have to work really hard on this one. I've been so emotional lately, which is not like me at all. I've been crying. The # of times I've cried in the last 10 yrs. you can count on one hand. I feel like something is wrong with me. I don't feel comfortable with this lack of emotional control. Even though I felt like a mutant for not being able to cry, I felt like that was normal and this isn't. I was thinking of going to the Dr., but when I go, nothing really happens. I got something from my insurance company stating that I need to lose weight due to Metabolic Syndrome, yet they won't pay for weight loss surgery, so Aetna, thanks for nothing. I hate our insurance. It is so terrible. The only reason I keep it is for a catastrophy. Thanks for listening. Sorry I am so emotional. I really don't know why I am and I hope its a phase or something.
  7. Glad everything is going smoothly for you and hoping it stays that way. My date is July 24th & I'm scared off and on.

Good luck to you & yours, Friend. My daughter's birthday is Oct 3rd as well.
  9. You look fantastic! This is my 1st time seeing a photo of you. I can't imagine how you would look with too much weight. You don't look anything like an over-weight person. Congrats!
  10. Please contact your Drs. before the 4th. Good luck, Ladies. I hope you feel better soon.
  11. Good luck, girls. Press through the struggle and you will come out on the other side with your victory. Good luck to you both.

    Complications With Band..Scare Tactics?

So scary. Surgery is serious though. She is right that a person needs to be mentally prepared for the lifestyle change. I see it as an opportunity to make health corrections in my body and restore my self-confidence and appearance. I have diabetes, neuropathy, macular degeneration, my feet, knees and back hurt. Sometimes people make innuendo to me or say straightforward mean, weight related things. I'm doing it because I think it will help me. I don't see how weighing 400 or 300 lbs can be healthy even for a young girl like her. I feel sad for her. Do what you think is right for you even though things aren't great for her. Be true to yourself.

    Need Food Inspiration

I've read suggestions of refried beans, beans, mashed potatoes, mashed veggies in general. Whatever you want to eat, put it in the blender, even the meat. Good luck. I'm sure there are many suggestions on the Internet.

How did you drink the vitamins?

I plan to invest in liquid vitamins. They are really expensive, but I think they will be worth it until I'm ready for solid food.

    Surgery in the morning!

Good luck to both of you who go tomorrow. Be blessed with success.
  17. I agree with what the ladies above wrote. Let me also say that you can probably find a lot of information on the internet and youtube videos. I will be in the same boat you're in because I'm having my surgery done in Mexico. I will have folllow up check ups done by a general practitioner rather than a bariatric Dr. Send good vibes. I hope my diabetes goes away.
  18. Congrats on your weight loss! But let me say, you don't have to tell them JACK. You're a grown woman. It seems to me you already have the tools to keep losing if that's what you want to do. If that's what you want to do, you don't owe them an explanation or apology and you don't need their permission. Follow your heart and listen to your inner voice and your body. You know whats best for you. The sooner you learn to trust yourself and your instincts, the more true to yourself & the better your life will be. Unlike you, I'm not young. I wish someone would have told me this when I was young. Be your own best friend. Be empowered. You may have outgrown the nutritionists now. If they don't that you make those decisions....Good luck to you.

    Got a Date!

Ha, ha. I was thinking you got a date w/ the opposite sex (or whomever you want to date). I guess I can tell where my mind is (LOL). My date is July 24th. We will be pre-opting & post-opting at the same time. I'm kinda scared about the recovery phase mostly. I will look forward to not always being hungry. I hope I can break the life-long habit of drinking with meals. I don't want to be fat anymore. Its giving me bad health & has ruined my confidence. Good luck in all your weight loss endeavors.
  20. I think you should have/eat what you want in moderation. If you want cake, have a bite or 2, but don't go hog wild because that defeats the purpose of the surgery. Maybe have a cakepop (75 cents at Starbucks) instead of a slice. Quality of life matters. We all might have financial goals but that doesn't mean we want to work only to pay bills & have no fun whatsoever for any reason. There is one diet guru that advocates having a "cheat" day. I would call it a "treat" day. You won't blow up if you treat yourself once or twice a month. Conversely, you'll also have to be content to lose weight more slowly. Eating cake does not help the cause of weight loss. If you are suffering you need to change something. You need to feel like you are having a full, abundant life & not a miserable, deprived existence. Good luck to you. Keep looking for the balance and you will find it.
  21. Glad things are going so smoothly for you. Please let me have the same good fortune on July 24th.

    Heavy lifting

I am apprehensive about the same issue. I'm like, who is going to carry my big a** purse? The answer? Me. The kids said they would help me put my classroom up, but you know how that is. Please go to the Dr. just to make sure it's not serious. Let us know what happens. Get well soon.
