I am so sorry I missed this thread,, this practice is absolutly disgusting, and I can not believe it is still going on in this day and age. I thought that even junkies gave this practice up!!! These Doctors make big bucks, I find it hard to believe that that Doctors practice is in such jeopordy that they need to cut corners that tight!! That seems to be such an unsafe practice, have you heard of other people from the same Doc, with the same complaint???

I all so have UHC,,,and just like all of you every time I call them it's a cold shoulder,,,I really feel like telling them that if the do not want to be in the customer service dept. they should quit and get the *ell out!!

My we are "BITTER" today no?? Let me start,, I am a man, 38 years old. And had a bad scare,this year before I started my LB journey. And I had my first (2) mamograms. Emberassing? Hell yeh, the nurse thad did it said "I have had more problems getting smaller women in here",, well I guess it's a good thing I have bigger "BOOBS" than some women...380 lbs acount for something. Then when both mamograms came back negative,, I got to have an ultrasound done on my boobs,,,,,yeh that was fun....explained these to my really confused insurance carrier. Plenty more embarassment. Hope I cheered you up Bitter!!

I'm looking forward mostly to keeping up with my 3 & 4 year olds!!!!! And looking down and seeing something I haven't seen in years,,,,my toes!!!

About 10 miles North of Greenfield,,,which is North of Springfield,,,the town I live in actualy borders Vermont, 3/4 of a mile from my house. I know you guy's/gals are all near Boston,,thats over 2 hours away.

I worked as a cook/Chef for a long time, the worst people in the world are the ones that BELIEVE they should have gotten more than they had expected,, even though what they were to get was SPELLED right out to a "T". I guess I'm a little insecure about the way people take me,, sometimes when I try to say whats on my mind,,, something totaly different comes out. I'm glad your feeling better, though I can't for the life of me think where you can get a script filled on a Sunday,:cry :cry :cry , unless you got a WALGREENS or something around. Hehehehe,, or get a STREET SCRIPT, hehehehe),,Kidding!!!

As day's go on,,, I'm sure it'll eas up a bit,,, it's tough for me to give much support, as I have yet to get my date, but rest asured you wouldn't have been given the LAP-BAND if you couldn't have handled the operation,,You know you can do it, same with your Doc.,,, and your H.P. (I say Higher Power as I am unsure who/what you believe in to pray to, and really am not trying to offend anyone this morning) Best of luck to you today Larry. I'm going to see Dr. Haagg in Springfield,, no date set as of yet, but I'm seeing the dietition, and the Phyc. things are moving right along,, so fast I only have time to be scared about 1/2 the time. Best of luck to all.

I'm glad your doin well,, just take it easy a while,, remember what all the "JOCKS" in school used to say, "No Pain, No Gain",,, God,I used to hate to hear that,(LOL)but we can use certain things to our bennifits. I know a little bit, though I worked in an Italian resturant. The thing with WOK's is that they are made to SEAR your foods, the good ones will normaly be made of stainless steel,,, in a resturant they are cast iron, and they have special gas stoves made with a large hole for the WOK to sit down into. You actualy need to use a lot of oil in a WOK, so as to get a good sear on all your foods and get them flavors mixed right around. They do make TEFLON ones that are electric,, though as a cook/Chef I may not get it for cooking porposes,,, but as someone trying to keep their weight down YES I would,, as a bit of olive oil goes a long way in teflon,, same with cooking spray. Julie,,, I believe that you need to do what makes you happy. Not realy where the money is. Of course another 6 figures would be nice,, is that where your happieness is going to be?? Realy I'm not trying to sound like an ass,,, but further down the road,, is that job going to make you happier?? Or will you "just be more comfortable in your misery". Thanks Crisp,,,, and everyone else. I never thought I would say it. But I have found it is much easier to be supportive than to do it. I have sat here, and given words of encouragement, and meant them with all of my heart. And I knew, that when I would start my journey, I would sllliiiidddde right on through, with no problems. Well I have started, and all though I know I am doing the right thing, my family and friends are behind me, brimming with support, I am scared, I am terrified. I've laid in bed at night and giggled like a little school girl thinking of friends that I'll see in the future, that don't know I'm doing this,,wonering about their faces when they see me. And I have laid there an shaken with fear,,and cried at the unknown. And I have stood up in here and declared that "I WILL DO THIS!!!!!" But now I have started this, and am so aprehensive. And I know I need to,, have to,,got to, got to, got to do this,,, and I will,,, but I have been knocked down a couple of rungs, and may not be soooo quick to say how easy this is gonna be.

Hi,, I'm Jim,,,I didn't start gaining weight until after high school, (1986) But have been over weight for at least 15 years,,I'm married, and between myself and my ife have 5 children ranging from 22yrs-3yrs old. Life is grand!!! I feel on top of the world, but for all this weight, I could be no happier! I think that it could be my family,,, and the fact that everything with Dr. Haag is starting to come together. I have had my 1st appointment with him, and am making the appointments with the Phyc. and the Dietitions. I'm looking forward to all of it, and meeting everyone around here too.

Great to hear it rainbow,,, I'm starting to get more and more excited/nervous as time goes by,,,,,it's really great to hear how well everyone is doing!!

Thanks so much every one for your support, all went really well at the appointment. I did find out, though, that my ins. will not pay for the dietition (SP?) anyone have any idea what that will run? Or how many visits I'll need to do? BLUEHILL- Thanks for letting me bend your ear

I was thinking it may,,, due to the nature of my job, I would need to be out of work until I was fully healed.

Woooo Hooooo, My first appointment with Dr. Haag is tomorrow morning !!! I'm so happy this is rolling!! Also I have some weird stuff going through my head, like what if he won't do it because he don't like me? or I answer something the way he don't like,,or worse yet, what if he does not like where I'm employed?? Really that is the biggest one,,, it's sort of very controversial,,,,,uuuuggggghhhhh what do I do???

I got my first appointment with Dr. Haag on Aug 30,,,and I really can't wait to do this,,,, I'm kinda scared and excited all at the same time.
