OK, I'm not having a stroke. :-) First, my BP machine at home was reading high. It is high right now but not nearly as high as my machine was registering. Second, she told me to stop crushing the pill and to take it whole. It is not a large pill so it is going to be OK. Dr. Campos just returned my call and he said it was ok too. I think in the early stage they are afraid of it getting stuck going down. I have no problems with that at all. I can swallow just fine.

I love roasted vegetables. I also use little garlic on them. I also love vegetables on the BBQ. A couple of years ago costco had the greatest thing. It was a package of vegetables already cut for roasting/BBQing. It had portabellas, peppers, onions, squash all in one package so you didn't have to buy all those vegies and cut them up. It was a particularly good deal if you were cooking for one or two.

It is a very noticable loss.

On the net the Johns Hopkins hospital Vertical Sleeve diet guidelines has you on modified full liquids when you leave the hospital for two weeks. It is liquids plus ricotta, cottage cheese, yogurt, puddings.

That is a possibility. But it is only about once a day so I was calling it very loose stools. Not eating anything I didn't expect well formed stools. I am going to see my PCP as soon as the office opens. My reading this morning was 170/115. I has never, ever been that high. The reason I am on the meds is because it was creeping up to 140/90. I'm afraid I'm going to stroke out. Any suggests to tell her?

I take Diovan. It is still going crazy so if it doesn't normalize by morning it is off to the PCP. The pill is very small and I'm going to take it whole in the morning.

I've been checking it every couple of hours and it seems to be adjusting. This just started happening yesterday. I'm giving it until tomorrow to see if this new method works or I will call her.

Cutting it in half seems to be working. The blood pressure is dropping. I've decided that tomorrow I am going to take half in the morning and half in the afternoon and see how that works.

I showed them to Aceves and he said it was OK to crush them. It is not one of those capsules that are time released. It really is not a large pill. Much smaller than an M&M so I don't know why I can't take it whole but he is the one who told me to crush it. I didn't know if it is because he thought it would harm the staple line. I'll be a week out tomorrow.

:eek: I've screwed up. I should have talked to my PCP before the surgery about my blood pressure meds. The first days after the surgery I didn't take them in the hospital as my blood pressure was normal to a little under and I didn't want it to drop. Since I've been home I've dissolved the tablets and taken them. WRONG. My blood pressure is through the roof. It has never been this high. I went to the pharmacy and spoke to the pharmacist and she said I should never have dissolved them. This morning I just cut them in half and taken them. I'll see if that helps. She is not sure about it as it should be released slowly. Her suggestion is to monitor it the next day or so and if it still remains high to go to PCP and have her prescribe one that I can take 3 - 4 times a day until I can go back to taking my pill whole. So, my advice is to check with your PCP before your surgery to see if you need to make adjustments to your meds the first 30 days after surgery.

That goes for the entire Southwest Bubble. We all share the problems and then wonder why the states are going broke.

I disagree. It is the patient's responsibility to bring a translator.

Say what you will, the kids are very loving and affectionate with each other. They are also pretty well behaved and are being taught manners. It could be chaos.

A plastic surgeon donated a tummy tuck. Her hanging skin was worse than any ours could be. People can say what they might about her, but I've seen a few episodes and she is devoted to those children.

I understand that, but Aceves has such a thriving American business I thought he would have some nurses he either trained or were assigned to him. I was just surprised because everyone had told me in advance that they spoke enough English to communicate. I'm not complaining. Other than the IV problem it was all good. I'm feeling great. It is hard to believe I had major surgery a few short days ago. Did I tell you about the beautiful Peacock Blue poop you get when you get home?

You don't know how much I want to fire the lot of them and start from scratch. They are all corrupt or on their way to becoming corrupt. They stay there for a while and think they are above we mere mortal and have privileges.

In the middle of the night when things went sour with the IV the nurse did not speak a word of English and the other nurse on duty didn't either. In the morning the nurse spoke a little.

Well...as a mom of eight (and i have 7 in diaper due to their specialneeds) You have seven children with special needs? You deserve a reward. I know how much work a special needs child creates so I don't know how you manage with seven.

The husband is a whiney nebbish. I've never seen him use his own initiative to help out with the kids. He is passive agressive so she has to nag him to get anything done. If she weren't organized the household would be bedlam. She is a clean freak. I don't know them and don't say she is all sweetness and light, but 8 kids under 3 or 4 had to be a hell of a job. They are just now human beings who can actually do stuff for themselves.

They can go on all the dates they want as long as I'm not paying for it. Valentine's dinner in Chicago, theater in NYC. Please. They could have gone to the Kennedy Center in DC for theater.

I always say that I have no time to be sick. It doesn't fit into my schedule. :laugh:

One thing you need to do before you go is to contact your cell company. Even though we are mere miles from the border, it is international roaming. If you call ahead you can probably upgrade to a plan that includes Mexico and then go back to your old plan the next month. Otherwise it is $.99/minute.
