  1. Well, I have two BM's today. Both came on quick, and after not having one for 3 days lets just say that when nature calls I am gonna answer happily. In other news, I have really not consumed all that much today but continue to feel very full and gassy. Had some jello (maybe like 3/4 a cup), had one cup of edensoy chocolate soymilk, and a little clear liquid protein supplement stuff here and there. Slept most of the day, and am almost out of liquid pain meds. (Which really stinks since tomorrow is Sunday). Tomorrow my kids and Dh are going to climb Mount Monadnock! Very ambitious.

  4. reading these posts is great....(i'm only 4 days post op)
  5. I am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience... I had taken off all the bandaides from my tummy, (left the steri-strips alone of couse) I am very very sore still, and find most of my soreness on my left side. My large dressing/gauge area (where i think my port is?) is the most tender, swollen, and painful. The weird thing is that to the left an inch from where the dressing/bandaides are is where i feel a definite firmness. Naturally Im paranoid that something is wrong, and that the port flipped or somehow moved significantly to the left. I don't have a follow up with my surgeon until Wednesday (5 days away)... Should I worry? Otherwise things are good. I have been drinking chicken broth, k20 pink lemonade protein drink (delicious), edensoy chocolate soy milk, muscle milk, carnation instant breakfast, and have had a little jello here and there as well. I have no interest whatsoever yet in yogurts, cream soups, etc. Clear liquids, and full liquid protein supplements have been great. Today I managed to stay awake a few different times for 1-2 hour increments. I am currently utterly exaughsted and about ready to go back to sleep... Oh yeah did I mention that getting in and out of bed is very unpleaseant? And forgot lying anything but flat on your back.. Oh well. Angela

  7. first order of business is to announce the following: k20 (kellogs) Protein Water mix.. really yummy:tongue:. tastes exactly like regular pink lemonade, i highly recommend it! I'll aoligize ahead of time for my writing... I am slipping back into a pain medicated haze... and articulation isn't the easiest. im 3 days post op, and have slept almost the entire time:sleep:. the longest i've been awake is an hour... (right now in fact) i've been pretty regular with the liquid pain meds... very, very sore and achy through my midsection. its been excruitating getting up from having been lying down in bed, and likewise when lying down from having been sitting. But, I am learning tricks and it's getting easier, not harder. i have a TOn of gas in my tummy... i'm an enormous balloon. Everytime a fart of burp comes along I get a little too excited, and tend to make an announcement to the whole house:rolleyes2: from what i have been told a did have a hiatal hernia repaired during the procedure. Also, they had the band all fitted, when the "camera guy" apparently poked the band with a sharp instrument and popped it! So my surgeon had to remove the thing, and replace it! So my surgery was almost 4 hrs long, instead of 3. I did get a shower today, which was lovely. Painful, but lovely. Ok, thats it for now. Amh
