    Nine months

Nine months Wow what can I say but this LB Journey has been BETTER than any amusement park feeling my insurance could buy!! A lot can happen in 9 months. I lost the weight of a small child or young adult for that matter 97 pounds. Wow I FEEL AND LOOK SO DIFFERENT! I was banded on June 29, 2009. One month early to my surprise. I had all the pre-op work done and I was just doing my job of reading everything I could about LAP-BAND®. I was making sure I was an expert on the subject before I even got banded, Ha Ha LOL I knew absolutely nothing!!! That was of REAL importance to me and my amazing journey. YOU WILL LEARN DAILY!! All I knew was eat slow, chew your food well and PROTEIN first and fit all the water and liquids in you can but NOT with a meal. Let me just say there is way more than just this. I set some goals back in the day, now I will look back at my older blog and see what I have accomplished? My biggest goal was to go skiing this winter and I did about 10 times I did well and it was just like riding a bike it all comes back to you. I rode a bike too that is so much fun!!! I want to dance. Yes. I have been Dancing and it is so fun! I want to eat normal. Yes, I eat way normal! EAT FOOD. NOT TOO MUCH. MOSLTY PLANTS. I want to think normal. Yes, I think normal! I want to look normal. Yes, I look normal! I want to FEEL normal. Yes I FEEL normal! I want to see myself as NORMAL. Yes, I look at myself and I see normal! I want to feel sexy again. Yes, I feel sexy again! I want to look sexy again. Ok, I am working on it...... I want to buy clothes off the rack. Yes, I can buy off the rack! I want those clothes to FIT me. Yes, clothes fit me I am a size 12 / 14. I want to be looked at, not look through. Yes, people talk to me now and look at me! I want to be successful. Yes, I feel and I am successful! I want off blood pressure medicine. Yes, I am NOW OFF all Medicine! Yippee. I want off my sleep apnea machine. Yes, I am off my apnea machine! Yippee. I want my normal body back, the one I had when I met my husband. I am Working on it. I was NORMAL I DO remember how it feels. Yes, I must say I FEEL NORMAL again Thanks to my LAP-BAND® I HAVE FORGIVEN MYSELF. MANY TIMES I was invited to speak to a group of newbies and there were about 50 people with many questions. I was with a young man who had GBPS and was at his goal. I am not at goal yet but have been successful on my journey and work well with my band. I was able the thank my Doctors and give back to the program that has given so much me. Wishing you and all my FRIENDS the best on your journey. I am still learning everyday. imaluckydog

    2 days post-op

Lets just say I have had a SMILE on my face since my band date of JUNE 29,2009. I tried to follow all the LB rules. I walk a lot and get my protein in first and foremost. I think getting enough sleep has helped me. I would alway say "I going to bed to lose weight!" I lost all my weight while I was sleeping. Everyday I get up happy and ready to face the day of a new me. My new ME has lost 97 pounds in 9 months and I still have a smile on my face;-) Blogging has helped to me keep my paws out of the cookie jar. I set small but accomplishable goals. Best wishes on your journey imaluckydog

    Irrationally upset by crazy coments.....

Great Blog and comments I have been hanging at a great loss of 97 pounds but have not lost any weight in about 4 weeks. I get "are you still trying to lose?" Like heck yes!! Then they tell me what I should be doing!! LOL They do not know and I am not telling. I have been trying to let it go in one ear and out the other. Wishing Good luck to me and everyone else in this position where others feel the need to tell us what and how to do it. I am creating my own destiny one meal at a time. Thanks for sharing imaluckydog

At the risk of embarrassing myself....

Yup Yup Yup Been there had this!!! Working good nutrition in to your program must be roughage. Pureed or blended Broccoli soup has help to keep me regular. I only need about a 1/2 cup and I am good to go. It does give for a little gas but we have changed our eating habits so much our bodies are adjusting to he healthy foods now. For me I do not eat anything processed, it has helped my body and to keep me regular. I can also pinch a loaf like nobody's business. LOL I just do not have movements everyday. Best wishes, Love my band imaluckydog

    Day 5 postop

Crying is good!!! I have cried a lot it is healing. I am into LB 9 months now lost 97 pounds and holding for some unknown reason and I still cannot burp. I try and nothing. I have learned how to relax my throat and sometimes a little gurgle happens. It helps. It can be so frustrating I know. Enjoy your time off and take care of yourself. Your work seems to know that this is time for you. I found it hard to focus on me too. I was always doing and caring for others I too had a little let down. Blogging helped me keep my paws out of the cookie jar and my mind on other things like meeting new people and sharing LB experiences. Happy blogging and Best wishes on your LB journey. imaluckydog

I WANT WHAT I WANT!1,000 Bitty Baby Steps to get to that 100 lbs lost?

Count me in too... I want so much to be down 100 pounds by June 29 That is my one year. I think I can do it but I have been at a stand still for 4 weeks lost 97 and holding. I am eating very well and even had an un-fill about 2 weeks ago. Due to acid reflux at night all is well now but weight is not moving down. I have been up and have been exercising every morning and stepping it up in the afternoon. I am just letting my body figure out what it wants to do I guess. I sure do want to lose more. I have figured out my calorie intake and my protein intake for height, weight, and age I am doing it. I just need to be patient I guess. Hanging in imaluckydog

    5 days banded

If you lose hair it will probably be around the third month from the surgery date. I did not lose that much at all. It is a reaction from having a surgery. I have already noticed my hair is coming back. Do not stress out about that, that should be the least of your worries. Try EAS Myoplex Lite 20 g Protein get it at any grocery store and does not taste bad at all. Comes in all kinds of flavors I like the Strawberry the best But chocolate is my next fav... Get the protein in it helps to keep you full and builds and repairs your body which you need now as you are healing. Be knid to your self and get al lot of rest now. I took a trip to Disney at my two week point after surgery and I was just fine. Everyday you will feel a little better. Get out and walk as much as you can it will help to make you feel better. Best wishes imaluckydog

    Good days win!

Stress caused my band to tighten. I also got the acid reflux and they took a little out of my band. So much better now. I can sleep and No More Acid Reflux at night. I still must remember to eat slowly. That is a BIGGY for me. I was worried that taking a little out would be bad but in fact it has helped and I feel so much better. Best wishes I am going to Dr. Today too. I wish us both luck. imaluckydog

    Weekend before lap-band surgery...

I was also banded on a Monday. It will go well, I was very nervous as I was not even sure it would even happen. As it turned out I was banded a month early. :-) Try and get a good nights sleep I remember I went to bed hungry. Once banded the hunger feelings usually goes away. I was the last surgery of the day so I spent the night but was home by 9 the next morning. You will be sore, just rest and be kind to yourself this is your time to be pampered and heal. I will be here for you any time you have a question. I asked to be a friend you may have to click someplace to agree in upper right hand corner of this page. Anyway, I will be thinking about you tomorrow. Please wish me well when I go a talk to the pre band interested newbies. I am so nervous that is tomorrow night at 5 pm. We both have exciting days ahead. Best wishes to both of us. imaluckydog

    Blue Bird Day

What I did on my winter vacation! It was a cold Blue Bird Day and I did it!! Dreams do come true thanks to LB and all the support from this site. See first picture. This is my family and the shadow in front is my husband taking the picture. I am second from the left light blue helmet and black oversized slimming outfit. See me second picture. If you can see my smile it is bigger than the mountain . I felt young again and have now accomplished my first really BIG GOAL. I better think of another one real quick. It will have to be to go skiing again next weekend. I just loved it and can’t wait to do it again. My husband said I better get a smaller outfit soon. LOL I am just going to wait for the sales. I have to Thank my LB friends and ALL the determination it took to get to me this point. I still have a long way to go. Maybe not that long. I have found my head is starting to catch up with the way I am feeling. I am enjoying more physical energy these days, no more food cravings to speak of, and I seem to be satisfied for the most part with my foods. I am enjoying a sense of calm I am not used too. I am still as full as I have ever been. I go back to Dr. Feb 22, 2010. Now that does seem like a long time away. It was my choice, I have had two Dr. visits and have refused two fills. I am hoping that if I wait a good while I may need a fill then and if not I will pass again. I am Happy and Bandlandia is agreeing with me for today. I am just about 40 pounds away from what I think will be a good weight for me. I am just going to keep doing what I have been doing as it seems to work for me. Best wishes to all the newbies I was banded on June 29,2009 lost 77 pounds and for the most part I have followed the rules, be kind to yourself it is an amazing remarkable joyous journey. imaluckydog PS Thanks BG Love You

Best wishes it can happen to you and may all your dreams come true. Mine have so far. Banded June 29, 2009 lost 97 pounds. I went skiing this winter for first time in 21 years. It has been an amazing journey. I have not thrown up that much only when I made a mistake with my food. It is a journey that your Dr.s will take you on and will guide you thru the entire way. Plus just think of all of us out here ready and willing to coach. I have made so many wonderful friends and feel very safe talking (blogging) to each and everyone of them.
