  1. Thanks sweetie - I'm going to talk to our insurance lady tomorrow and ask her what exactly is the cost to add it to our policy for the company... and go from there. If it's not so much, I'll consider paying for the additional cost if my boss will allow it. The part that bites is that we are a very small company and we don't get the best pricing. I'll keep ya'll posted. Hugs!!
  2. Found out today that my employer elected not to have this covered under our plan. The $15K is out of the question - I'm a single parent!! I'm very depressed now - guess it's not meant for me to be thin.
  3. Dr. Wilkenfeld - Conroe
  4. Sorry for your loss. I too suffered a huge loss - my dad died at 47 - I was 18 - heart attack. This is one reason I am hoping and praying my insurance will over the bad for me. I went to see Dr. Wilkenfeld. My BMI is 35.9 (202 lbs) and with my high blood pressure - I'm a candidate. Now just the hurry up and wait to see if UHC will cover me. I'll keep you in my prayers! Trish
  5. Jenna - thank you so much for thinking of me! My family and I just got back from a few days in Galveston!! Wish I could go this year - but no time available with my job! YUCK!! I'll keep this one in mind for next year - that would be so much fun! Hope ya'll have a great time!!!!!! Thanks again!!
  6. Gretta - try doing a search for Lapband of Texas - they say they have offices in Dallas/Fort Worth. Best of luck. I'm going to my first appointment tomorrow - I'm so nervous!!
  7. Thanks Terry!! I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but I think it may be too late!! I am getting excited about it and really looking forward to a brighter future!! Hope you and everyone reading this have a great 4th of July!!!
  8. Hi Wild - I have high blood pressure, pre-diabetic, sleep apnea, arthritis... boy if I was a horse - I'd been shot! LOL I had carpel tunnel surgery done last year and little did I know that condition is aggrivated by being overweight. From what I understand (and we'll find out) the blood pressure and pre-diabetic issue should do it for UHC. I've had a friend who went to Mexico for dental work and she was very pleased, I've just been a real chicken about going there. My appointment is with Dr. Wilkenfeld in Conroe next Thursday. Lapband of Texas. If you need his number - let me know!
  9. Thank you so much -you've made me feel so much better!!! I see you just had your surgery... I do hope you are feeling better and are doing well. Thanks again!!!!!!
  10. Dena & SallyJo - does UHC make you spend months going through supervised diets, phy evaluations, etc??
  11. Thanks Rachel...I'm pretty bull headed!! Best of luck to you with your surgery.. I'll keep you in my prayers!!!
  12. That is so good to hear!! Thanks SallyJo & Dena... I'm in Houston as well and am very excited about this opportunity. I figure if it's meant to be.. then I'll be approved.. if not.. then it's the old duct tape the mouth diet! Trish
  13. Hi - I'm Trish - I'm just in the beginning stages of this journey. I attended a seminar last week and have my first appointment next week. I have United Healthcare and am very nervous about getting approved. Any suggestions would be greatly appreicated. My BMI is 37-39.. depending on the scale! LOL I need to lose no less than 80 pounds and am hoping to get off of most of the meds I have to take. Wake up now.. I'm through!
