  1. Tina- I'm so glad you got a fill. And Dr. Baggs is right, it's so important for all of us pre-ops to hear the good, the bad and the ugly of post-op life. It's vital that we know what we're getting in to. How can we really have informed consent if we don't know about post-op struggles? Spent a good 12 hours on the house today. Got most of the house painted. It's exhausting. My whole body hurts. I can't wait to be moved in! I haven't had time to exercise all week, but I keep getting 10,000+ steps each day. Hope you all have a lovely mother's day with your Mom/Kids etc.
  2. We're painting the house today. Stayed up till 1:30 getting everything ready, and there's still more to do this am. So tired, this weekend isn't going to be restful, and we're hoping to be moving in next weekend. I'm going to be exhausted continuously for 3 whole weeks. Not great, now I understand why they say moving is one of the top stressful events in a person's life... You're sleep deprived for weeks, and the strange toll it takes on your body. Up the ladder, down the ladder, move the ladder, repeate. Taping baseboards is a pain in the a**, literally. New puppy is super cute, he's so proud of himself when he jumps on the couch. I'm less than amused. So, painting/packing/moving and training a new puppy. GO ME! Hope you're all doing well!
  3. Howdy Folks! Not much time to post tonight. We got a new puppy today! Yay! He's pretty darn cute. I'll post pics soon. 'Night!
  4. It's my understanding that if you're having gall attacks, you need that out, heal and then have lap band. If you've had no gallbladder symptoms but they notice something wrong with it while they're in there for lap band they'll take it at that time. If you're having trouble with that pesky gallbladder, you're most likely going to wait for your band.
  5. Nowadays it's Richmond with the long wait and SSF that's quick!
  6. Morning all! Happy Birthday Candra! Pat, I noticed in your yard you have a plant trained on a trellis or wires or something, was that a fruit tree? I'm paying so much more attention to people's landscaping nowadays! Wishing everyone a day of good, healthy choices! And Coco- I'm glad you're up there safe! We want to see pictures. And I'm now picturing Robbie with you on his back, up in the trees. Lol.
  7. Any chance you'll have help with the kids? You're not going to be able to lift either child for a while. Talk to your surgeon about lifting restrictions after surgery. Even something like your child sitting on your lap is going to be difficult... those little elbows will get you right in the port, it's magnetic or something!
  8. Sherri- Welcome! All the docs to the sleeve at Richmond, and your prefered surgery doesn't have anything to do with your surgery date. That all depends on your pre-op weight loss and the timing of appts. Ash- Congrats on the surgery date! Chrissy- You go girl! I'm so excited for you. Ali- Hope you're not in pain with freaky dreams for much longer! I lost 4 lbs this week. That's what I like to see!
  9. So Ali, How was surgery? You're probably still in the hospital, but I hope you're doing well!
  10. It was lovely to see you all today! Candra- I'm so glad you made the trip. I've missed you! Mo- Girl, you've got some great legs! I saw those cute skinny jeans. You look great. Ashley- Thanks for the clothes! I tried on the maxi dress, and I know what you mean! It's a bit tight in the midsection... lol. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Donna- You're wonderful, but you know that! Pam- I'm glad you came! We should get together and walk again soon. Chrissy- You're awesome. I know you're gonna get those 3 lbs off. Hell, they're probably gone already! April- I had a great time talking with you today, I can't wait to go bounce for your bday! Nicole- Ah coco... I adore you girl! But I'll see you Tuesday and haul that fridge away. lol. Congrats to Christine! I know the last thing on your mind is checking lbt but Congrats on your new arrival! John, Tina, Reggie, Riley, I'm sorry we missed you today. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!
  11. I'll be there Saturday! Ashley-I'm so sorry for your wait! Only 12 patients per month? That seems low. Only 144 patients per year? Or is that just sleeve? That's craziness. Just keep with your diet and exercise plan. You can do this!
  12. Ali- Listen to your cd! All the post-op pros said it was super helpful.
  13. I found this today while reading lap-band blogs. (I spent hours reading blogs today) It's Dr. Oz's 10 Commandments for weight loss. Makes a lot of sense. We Tried It: Dr. Oz's 10 Commandments for Weight Loss - That's Fit
  14. Howdy! I just got back from a weight check at Kaiser. It's so much nicer now that they don't require an appt. They have a new nurse and she told me not to make an appt and the gals that check me in didn't say a word about it! Well, I went back to wearing my weigh-in dress and it worked like a charm. I don't remember what I weighed two weeks ago (and I forgot to update the ticker then) but I'm at least 4-5 lbs down since then (maybe more?). It's so nice seeing the scale go in the right direction again, makes the resistance muscle work harder too!
  15. Simple stuff, like "How many people are in the room right now?" and "Who is the president?"
  16. Lol John. You crack me up. Hey Candra! I'm glad you got to hang out with Coco & Soda! Totally jealous! (Did you guys get massages?) We went to a wedding yesterday, his best friend's. It was really nice, would have been better if the weather had cooperated. It was raining for hours! And it was an outdoor ceremony, with a lawn reception. There was a tent which kept us pretty dry, but the lawn started to get pretty muddy. We still had a great time, and when we left the sky was clear and you could see countless stars. I seem to have dropped the 6 lbs I gained somewhere. So that's nice to see! Still not where I want to be but I'm detoxing on the sugar, gets a little easier each day. (The favors last night were see's candy. This morning I found one someone had snuck in my purse and I threw it right in the trash.
  17. Way to go Chrissy! I was dropping weight like that when I first started the 1200 cal. I had to go use the scale at the gym because I didn't trust my own scale. I didn't think it was possible. Enjoy this time!
  18. Sooo happy for you Riley!
  19. I think the fill thing is changing a bit. Last year Dr Baggs was giving tons of tiny fills, Dr. Im would give infrequent but large fills, and I don't know what the other two were doing. It seems like they might be a lot more concerned with people being overfilled. I think they're all being a lot more conservative with fills. And you will have to go to Richmond for fills, sometimes they'll do them in vacaville or pinole. You should write to member services and tell them you want a fill center in Sacramento and you're not alone. If we all do that, perhaps we can change something. They don't know how bad we need it if we don't tell them.
  20. I go to Cal Fit in Elk Grove. I'm still pre-op, my orientation was 11 months ago. Wow, stings a bit when I realize how long ago that was! I also have Doc Fisher, he gave me a surgery goal of 84 lbs. I'm sitting right around 40 lbs lost. I'm about ready to go back in and ask him to reconsider, it's so much harder to lose now than it was 11 months ago.
  21. Lol John. Tell us how you really feel! Lol. Welcome Rachelle! How much did Doc Fisher require you lose before surgery? He gives every totally different amounts, I'm curious. I wouldn't start drinking shakes, Richmond is so against them. Of course, I do have an occasional shake. I like to have them on hand for emergencies, like those days I'm running super-late for work and have nothing in the fridge, or if I wake up late on a weekend, and have lunch plans. A shake will satisfy me for 1-2 hours, so keep that in mind. But don't start bad habits if you can avoid them! Rachelle- Do you belong to a gym in EG?
  22. Ali- Good luck with Liz tomorrow. You finally get a surgery date woohoo! I'm a little jealous but totally excited for you! Hope everyone had a wonderful day. Too bad the storm was so intense. April- How's your daughter? Is she still in Mexico?
  23. Nicole! Happy Bandaversary! You've done an amazing job! What an eventful year it's been.
  24. Maria- After the Point West meeting we're going to Sky High Sports for some bouncy trampoline goodness and to bid Canolie adieu. So come to the meeting! We miss you!
