  1. I'll be there Saturday! I'm not looking forward to this weekend. We have a graduation party on Friday, visiting my boyfriend's family in San Jose on Saturday and another graduation party in San Francisco on Sunday. We do our own little tour of California. I'm so worried about what I'm going to eat. Every other time we've gone to stay with his family we have fast food or we go out to dinner. The boyfriend is trying to do the pre-op diet with me so I feel like I should bring an ice chest with food for us, but I just don't know. I weighed myself at the gym the other day. I guess my scale at home isn't broken. I really have lost this much weight! Can't wait to meet you guys on Saturday!
  2. I'm doing better with the diet already. I'm less hungry between meals. I even went to my friend's son's 6th birthday party and was able to resist the nachos, hot dogs and everything else. It wasn't time for my next meal, so I didn't eat. It was a big win for me today. Yay!
  3. Candra I feel your pain with the diet! I'm struggling a little because I was always snacking. Now I can't even have a snack of fruit or something "It always starts with a piece of fruit" lol. I keep getting way full on my meal and then hungry a few hours later. I don't know if it's just the head hunger or what, but I'm fighting with myself saying "It's good to be hungry!" I also don't quite believe my scale, I think it might be broken or something. I'm so glad to have found this group on here, I feel like I'm already staying on track better than I would have on my own.
  4. I had orientation today. I'm really pleased with it too. I've been to 2 other bariatric orientations and this one was by far the best! Dr. Fisher was there, and he'll be my surgeon. I go for my surgeon appt in 3 weeks! It seems so fast. Overall I think today went well. My boyfriend came with me and is super supportive. He's even going to do the pre-op diet so he can lose a little more weight and I don't have to cook 2 different dinners for us! I'm a little nervous about the whole thing but I'm also excited. I also got to meet Candra today! It's great to know someone is going through it all at the same time!
  5. I'm starting my journey to a smaller, healthier me. I have my orientation at Kaiser Richmond tomorrow morning. I know what to expect there, I've been to the orientation with Dr. Machado of Mercy San Juan and the one for UC Davis. Now I have Kaiser and from what I can tell, it's going to be a really good fit. Just reading all the posts from the other ladies who went through Kaiser Richmond makes me feel a lot better. When I did the UC Davis orientation, the surgeons were very much against the lap band. I felt like I had to defend myself and convince the surgeon and he basically told me. "I will not do a lap band, but you can have gastric bypass". As frusterating as that was to hear, I'm ready to re-dedicate myself to the cause! I'm not telling anyone, just my boyfriend and my mom & dad. It's not that I'm ashamed, but I kinda am. I'm ashamed that I've let my weight get so out of control. I'm ashamed that I can't do this on my own. But I'm ready to work hard and I feel like it's the best time to do it. People at work are all trying to be healthier, my family is trying to be healther and so are my friends. It's like all the pieces have to fall into place. The journey begins tommorrow.

  7. Hello again Ladies! My name is Heather. And I've thought about LAP for a few years. I've even been to 2 other orientations with different insurances each time. Now I'm with Kaiser and I have orientation on Tuesday, so Candra I'll see you there!
  8. Howdy Ladies! I'm new to the program, I have my orientation at Richmond on 5/12. I'm glad there's a thread here with Sac/Richmond people!
