Anyone in Jax?
I went to Dr. Webb and the Novus Group initially but then switched over to Dr. Baptista and Dr. Cwyes group. I really love them. I've had two appointments with them and they've been really supportive and helpful. I didn't have such a great experience with Novus Group and if you want to Private Message me I can give you the details. The other two ladies I'm friends with on LBT also went to Dr. B and Dr. C. They have both had great experiences with them and that's what made me switch.

Anyone in Jax?
Hi, I haven't been banded yet but I'm in the process. There are a couple of people on this site that went to the same group of doctors I'm seeing and have recently been banded.

Had surgery- changed insurance and now not covered
Hi, I'm not banded yet but I'm scheduled in August. I read a post yesterday from a bandster who was banded a couple of years ago and recently changed insurance and found out she's not covered for anything. Obviously, now my husband and I are re-thinking having the procedure we both work in jobs where our insurance changes every couple of years and I'm worried I wouldn't be covered if something happened and I needed the band removed (god forbid). Has anyone experienced this?

insurance changed - now what???
I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you but this really concerns me. I'm not scheduled yet for surgery and now i'm re-thinking it because of this.

Is anyone else working on their six month pre op diet?
I'm doing a 3 month multi disciplinary program. It seems like it's just dragging on. I know it's because I've already made the decision and feel like the years of obesity should be enough but you must jump through hoops. Mine will be done on July 22nd and then we submit the paperwork so I'm hoping for an August surgery. I just keep telling myself hopefully in 5 or 6 weeks I'll have a date.

I went to Dr. Webb initially through the Novus Center. I didn't like Novus so I switched to Dr. Baptista.

Can we please have the old homepage back?
Thanks I like the old page much better. I love the ability to see recent post and recent blogs along with new pics.

Maybe i can help :)
I have Aetna PPO and am completing the 3 month supervised diet. I'm getting conflicting reports on whether I need to go see my doctor once a month or twice a month for the 3 months. Initially I was told monthly visits with the doctor. Then today I met with my surgeon and they said it needs to be two visits with the doctor each month for the 3 months.

Looking for encouragement
It can take months to get the right adjustments. Go back to the doctor.

Shout to the Top!
Your blogs are always so entertaining and from someon who is not yet banded...they have in no way changed my decision but it's nice to know what to expect realistically.

Paperwrk sent to AETNA on 5/12, APPROVED on 5/13!!
I'm with Aetna and I'm doing my 3 month supervised physician weight loss. I did my first visit on April 24th, second visit on May 12 and scheduled for June 12th visit. DO you think this will work for Aetna? I read someowhere that it had to be around the same time each month. If so I need to schedule another visit for the end of May and end of June. We're shooting for a July surgery date.

Anyone with Lockheed Martin and Aetna get approved
I'm looking for people with Lockheed Martin and Aetna. My husband just switched contracts to Lockheed (aetno ppo 300) and we should get the enrollment papers this week. The problem is I've already inquired with our current insurance and they cover the surgery so I'm anxious to see if Aetna will. They of course won't tell me yet because I dont' have a group number today.

Did you insurance cover the psych eval and dietician?
Did you insurance cover the psych eval and dietician? I went to a center that does surgery and they want me to pay $1500 to cover the psych eval, dietician, pre/post op support and filing the insurance. Is this normal?

Need help in Jax, FL
I've gone to Novus (Memorial Hospital) but haven't checked out any other facilities. Do they all charge $1500 for pre/post care? THis is supposed to include the dietician and psych eval as well as dealing with the insurance. Before I spend that kind of money I want to know what your experience was like.
