Passing For Thin - Support Thread for Those Approaching Goal
I only buy sale items now and shop mostly at a resale shop. I take my clothes there and sell them. SO I get money to buy new clothese there. It is a really nice shop too, mostly "high" name brand at lower prices! I can not wait to know what size I really am going to be so I can buy some business suits. I have not worn one in about a year to work, and it is killing me! lol...

Not working
Carol I am sorry that you are having trouble with the band, but I am going to ask you what you mean by gimicks or tricks? There aren't gimmicks or tricks to get the band to work. MOST of the work is ours. Could you please explain this? I agree that you should not spend your life too tight. May I ask what your caloric count is per day? The band is not meant to make you loose weight automatically, we have to work it as well. I would do everything in my power to find another Dr. It sounds like you need more support than what they are giving you.

You've lost enough weight...
UGH. If I hear it one more time whoever says it is going to be sorry! One thing people don't think about is they do not see us without clothes...LOL for the most part anyways! :boink: I try to be polite and say well thanks, but I am not quite there. I had one person argue with me that I looked just fine, well unless she meant "DAMN FINE" it is not good enough for me! lol... Why do they think it is a compliment or nice? DO they think because we one had a problem with food that we have turned into anorexic people?? Geesh....it is my body get over it!

Need advice for kicking a sugar addiction
I am or was a sugar addict but I have found ways to cope Maud! I replaced sugar with high protien foods. I love cheese now, I never really did before. Those string cheese things ROCK! I use Splenda instead of sugar, it is pretty good. Somethings I can't evne tell it is not sugar. But the best advice is to get it out of the house, since it is an addiction you have to make sure there aren't things to tempt you around you, it si the ONLY way to do it! Good luck, we can all do it!

Anyone else over the "norm" of 40-60% loss?
Jachut--thanks I will do it! My goal is to be a hottie like you so I can wear a bikkinni too! lol... Chickie--my family is reaping rewards as well, I love that my kids now understand about what is healthy food and what is not! Brooke is doing much better with her ADHD without processed foods and sugars! WasA-I agree he has his head up his butt. He was the same Dr that told me I was loosing too fast! UGH, I hating his aftercare. Kaycee-that is what I thought exactly! This is my plan ladies, I am going to get back to working hard at the gym, not just walking which does qualify for exercise but obvisouly not working for me. Since the PS being shot down this year I guess I am more in a panic over these few pesky pounds. I am not going to change what I eat, I average 800-1300 calories per day so there is no need changing that. I brought my stuff to work out today after school and I think I am going to hire a Personal Fitness Coach to help direct me. I need these last 15 off for me. I want to feel that I did it! Even though I look good and have a healthy BMI I still feel I am not yet done. Maybe it is obsession on my part, but if it keeps me from obsessing with food I am ok with that! Wish me luck and thanks again for all the great points!

Seriously Thinking About Backing Out
I agree that just because you can't do that type of protien means you are a failure. Good protien is personal I believe! What works for one person may not work for another. It maybe that you are actually not ready right now. I think Long is right there is some underlying reason for wanting to back out. Most of us have second thoughts, I cna tell you 110% I thank God everyday I didn't back out on my surgery and I thought about it, but now I can't imagine my life overweight anymore! I hope you can figure out what you really want. Remember pre op is temporary, and we all did it. You can do it if you want to! Good luck! Hugs

It is amazing the size difference in panties now!! I just cleaned out the drawer today...rotfl....do I really need to keep size 13s now????? That is twice the size I wear now...lol...why did I wait so long???

Anyone else over the "norm" of 40-60% loss?
Thanks to both of you! YOU both have made great points! Julie--I agree that making food for others sucks! lol... Congratulatoins to you for becoming a distance runner!! And congrats to you for being at 97%! One thing I didn't think about was that they have my goal @ 142. At 6"0" I would look disgusting! I want to be about 165 or so. Ghost--thank so much for the reality check. Maybe that is what I really need and not a way to starve myself for a number?

Anyone else over the "norm" of 40-60% loss?
Hello all I am curious and need help. I am at 75% body fat loss. I have 15 or so pounds to make me happy. I haven't lost in about 1 month. My Dr told me that I am well over the norm of 40-60% for band paitents and that my body may shut down and no longer "allow" me to loose weight. Is there anyone here who has lost more than 75% of their excess fat or has your Dr told you that you are probly done and your body will not loose anymore? If you continued to loose how did you do it? Thanks in advance!

Steady losers ;-)
Kay--is it close to that time of the month at all? That is my first question. I do loosen up a bit after a fill but it usually takes me 2 or 3 weeks. If you are too tight and suffer through it you run the risk of hurting not only yourself but your band! THAT IS NOT WORHT IT! Just try to get back to basics and see if that helps. Exercise might be the key for you! Good luck sweetie!

10cc instead of AP..I'm pissed!
WOW! I am so sorry about this! I think definately you have an issue with the DR but you can work with your band. You can do it! Focus right now on you, stress is not good for the band at all! NOR is it good for you! :car: You can do this! Good luck to you!
