  1. At my Doctor appointment yesterday he said: 4oz Protein at meals. I am to evaluate 10 minutes after eating that to see if I am statisfied. If not, I guess I'll get a fill on June 2nd. No red meat, bread, rice, potatoes, gum, soda or high calorie drinks. I'm suppose to eat every 2-4 hours. The appointment lasted no more than 5 minutes. In & out.
  2. No fill for me. Have to go back to the Doc on the 2nd. He told me to eat 4 oz of protein (chicken, turkey, fish- no red meat) then evaluate if I'm truly hungry after that. He also said no bread, potatoes, rice or pasta. Having a food scale is law, according to him. There was something else he said that I wanted to share, but I'm completely blanking on it. If I remember I'll come back and share. So what things have you been told?
  3. Going to be a crazy couple of days here at work. I go to see my Doc tomorrow. Not sure if I'll be given a fill or not. I will update Wednesday. I hope to be able to come at least read all the posts in between working crappy jobs.
  4. I agree JT, take whatever positive responses you get as proof. Sometime the scale doesn't reflect all the changes. Feel free to remind me of that next time I'm whining about the scale
  5. 288- lost what I gained last week. I'll take that! Haven't had a fill yet. Can eat pretty much whatever I want, except hot dog buns
  6. I totally agree with you on food being a day to day thing. I think it could be hour by hour for some. From what I've read, if you have a band problem you would know it. It sounds like it's very painful and NOTHING stays down. NSV for me- my jeans are baggy!! Now mind you they are the largest size I have worn. But who cares, because they are loose!!
  7. Happy Belated bday JT!! I ordered Water when I went out and it wasn't until half way through eating that I realized that I was drinking while eating. My sister was with me and she said my eyes got huge and I just stared at my drink. I didn't think I was that shocked, but clearly I was. After that I pushed the glass to her side of the table. It was interesting to see how easily I slipped back into old habits. Though before would've been a fully loaded soda So how is everyone's weight loss going now that you're on regular foods? I gained last week, but I think I'm going to be down those pounds at tomorrow's weigh in. I'm not asking this in a competion way, trust me I'm not that kinda girl.
  8. Ling, Tere & Thin- Congrats!! Thanks so much for sharing your NSVs. I'm so happy for all of us! My NSV is that I can see the weight loss in my face. My clothes are looser but unfortunately they were really tight to begin with. I don't expect to change sizes for another 20lbs or more. But that is ok because I don't have money to spend on clothes. Though I am looking forward to shopping in my own closet in my "skinny clothes" section.
  9. My bad experience is that I thought I was doing so well that I could have a bite of a hot dog bun. BIG MISTAKE! About an hour later I was miserable. If I hadn't read/heard all the horror stories about things getting stuck, I would've thought I was having a heart attack. It was AWFUL, everything everyone says and worse! OMG, it was just miserable. The bad time lasted about 30-40 minutes. I went for a walk and that seemed to help. I pray that I never experience that again.
  10. Jen- that is too cool! I'm so happy for you! I went to Chilli's for lunch with my daughter. I ate 2 chicken strips, chewed well and part of my mashed potatoes. In the past I would scarfed down the whole thing along with basket of chips/salsa. I ate a lot of crappy stuff this weekend. We had a family party on Saturday and went to the Cub's game yesterday. Aside from one bad thing, which I'll describe in a minute, I did really well. I was so tempted to drink some Pepsi, but I didn't! I was very proud of myself. Though I ate an awful lot throughout the day. I'm going to post this on the confession thread as well. I go back to the Doc next Tuesday. I find out about a fill then. Aside from the above incident I've been able to eat whatever I want. I've made myself stop eating, but I swear I could eat a lot more if I tried.
  11. "This weeks single loss winner is WannaB1/2theWoman with 11.8lb!! and joint runners up JayTee and Band Groupie with 3lb each! :cool2:" Congrats to all!! Thanks again Ling for doing this and for your pep talks. You Rock Babe!
  12. Moonbeam- I'm with you! Ling & everyone else thank you so much for support, positive thoughts and success stories!
  13. Ugh! I gained this week due to poor food choices. I am not this person! I refuse to fail.
  14. 291
  15. Thanks Angie. I'm doing much better now.
  16. I'm not a happy camper. I've been to the bathroom about 10 times since getting to work. This is not fun! I think the refried beans I've been eating for days have made my digestive track go bonkers. I don't think this is a band issue, more of a food tolerance issue. All I know is it's miserable!
  17. Glad to hear all is well!
  18. Thanks for the support and pep talk Ladies! I'm offically in bandster hell. I'm truly HUNGRY not head hunger. Today I'm working on solving that issue. I microwave my refried beans for 2-3 minutes with Mild Green Salsa mixed in. At home I add shredded cheddar. I stir the mixture several times while it's heating up. One time I didn't and had some crunchy bits, not good. I love love love my beans
  19. Oh Hannah, ((((HUGS)))) I'm so sorry that you're feeling so down. I've been where you are after other life changing events in my life (death of daughter, death of old love, husband's health issues, etc.). You've been given great advice here from others. The only thing I want to add is maybe counseling. I personally feel that therapy, counseling, venting to someone who is there to listen 100% to you, is the absolute greatest gift you can give yourself. I've talked to professionals (seeing one currently to help with life banded and changes it will bring), pastor and regular Doctor. Maybe your school as a nurse or counselor you can talk to. Or better yet are there weight loss support groups near you?
  20. Loud burper here , never was before (unless very pregnant). But it does feel good once it's over.
  21. That's awesome KMG, congrats!
  22. Still haven't made it to the gym. But I have been walking 1 mile each way from work/train. Plus did a bunch of yardwork this weekend. I'm paying the proce today with a very sore knee. I pray losing weight helps with arthritis. I like being active.
  23. Congrats Band Groupie!! I like to make a big fuss too
  24. Well I've totally ignored my Doc's rules. I was suppose to be on full liquids for another week. But I simply couldn't stand not eating and have no energy. So I made the move to mushies, refried beans and gaucamole. I really screwed up this morning and ate 1/2 blueberry muffin. I shouldn't have done that and feel such tremendous guilt.
  25. I have five incesions as well. My port strips fell off first. I still have two with stips on. I just wait for them to fall off on their own. I'm not a picker, if anything I'm an anti-picker, so I have no desire to touch them . But the ones that are off look ok, brusied but fine looking.
