  1. They also have an office in Stafford, Va. at the hospital. That is where I go now..and don't worry..i think I'm close to 9 ccs in my band as well...maybe 8? hmm....I am JUST now really getting restrictrion...maybe I'll lose some darn weight...it's been months! :cursing:
  2. I think it depends on what your putting out caloric wise...I went through fire school and did a bunch of extra stuff...1000-1200 calories of day didn't feel like anything to me, but I kept to that...I was way exhausted...definitely individually-based though...
  3. No..no..no..the best things about friends is they don't ALWAYS have to agree with you..you need someone to give you other points-of-views...respect your friend's opinions...but u don't have to like them one bit..if it's obvious you can't talk to her about the surgery find someone else to talk to...like all of us!!! lol.we can relate with you! don't give up your friends due to difference of opinions...but don't accept negative remarks either!
  4. I am a little over a yr. with my band. I told my surgeon this and he made me feel like it was my fault I was eating more on some days...and truthfully on some ways it is our fault..we do control what we eat...but even so the foods that are "supposed" to make us fuller do not ALWAYS have that affect...ugghh..darn you band! i got a fill, and i think i'm pretty high in my cc's now..so i DEF. fill a restriction..and the band is DEF. telling me no to foods it used to tell me yes too....trial and error...we will prevail..don't let the band beat you..:cursing:
  5. Yes, be careful when taking any kind of pills. I usually break mine in half, but there was one time that even the halfed pill hurt my chest pretty bad. I hope you feel better..We win some, we lose some..that time the band won.
  6. Hi. I'm actually going through the same thing. I took half a pill the other day and my chest has been hurting as well. It's noticeable throughout the day, but it's not so bad I need emergency attention..it's just annoying...Hopefully both of our pain will subside soon...
  7. I have to say that I am having the SAME exact problems with my throat...it started earlier today...I'm on my 2nd fill, and it's been about 3 weeks since I had my fill. God forbid, but it is Flu season..please, let us know what your surgeon said..I'm very curious to know!
  8. lol..alrighty! i haven't had that problem as of yet, but maybe chewing some gum will help me alleviate some of this left-over gas from surgery!! lol...take care
  9. You and i both are still fresh out of surgery. Scarring does not happen until 6-8 wks out of surgery. Coughing or sneezing hurts for myself. If you have a fill and you are continously coughing ask the dr. for an un-fill. If you do not have a fill and have a bad cold you may want to try a cough suppressant...No unnecessary pressure on that band lady!
  10. i agree, monitor your body, and eating habits until monday. there are stitches on the inside to help the band stay in place...this is not saying they have ripped, but to be careful of your movements during the healing process...i pray all is well!
  11. i was only told no gum BEFORE surgery..it cause 2 ounces of stomach acid to churn..that was surgery tho..ive had atleast 5 pieces of gum and i'm 9 days post-op..no problems...i even had a piece in my mouth talkn to the surgeon today...just be careful hun
  12. hey ladyjp.i'm 8 days post-op..i can tell u it is definitely normal..if u actually feel under all ur incisions u may feel some tightness..REMEMBER just because we are healing on the outside does not mean the swelling on the inside has gone down...and the port is somewhere on u girl!!! lol..stay calm..i'm moving around SOOO much and need to remember i had major surgery 8 days ago!! lol..
  13. hard stomach sounds normal..u are swollen on the inside of ur stomach PLUS extra gas that was added..adding mushies is a bad idea..dont forget u have swelling going on everywhere....i understand u about the hunger! lol..i'm 8 post-op and can't WAIT to eat some fooood!! lol..welcome to bandster hell buddy..hop on..and try some sugar free products!
  14. girl u are too much! lol..u betta ride that bike!! lol..im taking mine out when i stop being so sore!! lol
  15. ive been in that boat BEFORE i got my band..ive only been banded 3 days, but I can say it's not supposed to be easy, nor is it supposed to be extremely hard...we have to start all over...continue to increase exercise gradually and really take a look at what you're eating..if your diet is perfect, then focus on your exercise..if nothing happens after changes are made discuss it with your physician...every problem has a solution! hang in there!
