    Bruising very easy?

Are you taking a baby aspirin every day? A lot of doctors tell patients to do that. I'm asking, because when I do, I bruise easily.... aspirin thins the blood.
  2. Hi All, I just watched on a video, that said, after the surgery and your intial weight loss, your metabolism changes..... Your hunger returns... HOLY CRAP BAT MAN !! So is this true? There is supposedly some sort of rebound effect? You loose a bunch, gain "some" back then your new normal weight is set. This is really confusing.. I am still researching and am concerned about years from now...... Oh I can't imagine how happy I will be at a 100 lbs of weight loss, but if my body simply doesn't want to stay that size, and hormones and metabolism start sabotaging me... What am I doing....I just WHACKED OFF 85% OF MY STOMACH - FOREVER !!! I know a lot of you are better at all the research than I am, you went through with it anyway and are living it now. Please help me understand..

  4. That's what I want to hear. !! Great news.
  5. I have gone for a consultation and started with my 6 months of insurance requirement visits, with True Results in Austin, TX... Wondering if anyone has heard good, bad, or anything on this facility. My husband's cousin, got a lap band installed there about a year ago and recommended them... I have heard from a few people, the large chain offices shouldn't be trusted. I can't find anything at all on them... None of the literature they have given me, has a surgeon's name on it. hummm L Like I need one more thing to stress/question about.
  6. If you have made the decision NOT to tell you had WLS, what do you do when you are among friends/family eating? ... Mom makes you a bday cake? What do I say? There are some family members (Mother-in-Law) that just feel " you just don't try", to take care of your weight. I know when I start loosing, people are going to want to know "how are you doing it ?"

A pound of cure..Dr Mathew Weiner

I've been watching his seminars on Youtube... I don't know enough yet to know what to do...
  8. I am still in the research phase and have started my 6 month pre op visits.... I saw something on Youtube (such great sharing going on there) that scared the crap out of me.... a doctor was saying after you loose a lot initially, your body will try to have a new metabolic set point and you will start to regain your hunger again.... and there are some people that gain more weight back, because your body's metabolizm is changing again.... Here's that slippery slope that I have fell down all my life...... This really scares me ya'll.... But I want so desperately to be thin. If I do such a DRASTIC PERMANENT surgery... I don't want to have to worry about regaining.... Absolutely scared out of my mind that I will be fat again, with a tiny stomach.... God please help me. Is this going to be yet another "diet" that I am going to fail at ??? I'm sure a lot of you have been researching this as well. Please let me know what you have discovered.

    New and Excited

Suzanne, this doesn't have anything to do with your surgery, but I have found some shoes that have really saved my feet....I wear them just about all the time and they are wonderful......they are called Think! They are made in Europe (Denmark?) but I only buy them now....That is what I walk in, because even my Tennis shoes used to hurt. Good Luck with everything.......I'm still one of the lurkers that keep hoping I can do this without the band...it's hopeless.
  14. I've been on liquid diets in the past and find that it is hard to get enough fiber to be able to "go". Do lap banders rely on laxatives?
