    Been there done that.
For those who have never been stuck think yourself lucky, just don't think it is because you are following your Dr's rules. Most of us do that and it doesn't stop stuck episodes. The foods that Dr's recommend are actually the ones that are more likely to cause problems than the unhealthy, fattening foods that shouldn't be eaten on a regular basis.
I have been stuck on chicken, fish, watermelon, Tomato, lettuce etc.
The mistake most people make is that when they get stuck on something they then cut it out of their diets and end up living on a very small range of food. I still eat everything regardless of if it has given me a problem before. Restriction is not about restricting the type of foods that you can eat, it is about feeling satisfied on smaller portions.
If Papaya works for you then again count yourself as being lucky. I have tried and it does nothing for me.Generally the best option when you are stuck is to try to bring the offending item back up - that will give you relief from the discomfort which could otherwise go on for hours. If I have a really bad stuck episode I suck on crushed ice, it helps to reduce the swelling and seems to speed things along.
Good luck with finding out what works for you.

I agree that you are too tight and that you need some taken out so that you can eat a wider variety of foods. As you can see being too tight doesn't work, you don't lose. You are probably consuming more calories than you realise as calories are easy to drink.
Have a small unfill, start eating a wider variety of healthy foods and see what happens.

On my Dr's suggestion I made lots of homemade veggie Soups with Beans , lentils etc added for Protein and blended to liquid. They were healthy, yummy, satisfying and extra bonus they tasted like real food.(Probably because they are). In Aus we tend to focus more on proper, natural foods rather than commercial, processed, artificial ones

elcee got a reaction from RbL7FB in How Do I Deal With The Gas In My Core After Lap Band Surgery?
The gas is not inside your stomach/digestive system so things such as Gas X will have no effect. The gas is within the body cavity and lodges in all sorts of strange places - take the painkillers that your surgeon has prescribed - they are there to help you.

I believe that you can get the same result by vacuum sealing meat in a bag and then cooking it in hot Water. You may want to try looking that up on the net - a vacuum selaer might be a cheaper option.

Its entirely reconstructive, but a side effect will be a supermodel tummy.
After my ultra low bowel resection i was left with an ugly, twisted scar where my caesar scar used to be and a stoma of course. When the stoma was closed i had a new scar ( about as big as a port incision) and an upper abdominal bulge. Despite this huge op being laparoscopic, my abdominal wall has been severely weakened, and the fullness on my previously flat tummy Id thought was middle aged spread ( early menopause due to rafiation) is not my pear shaped bod beginning to store intraabdominal fat but rather muscle laxity brought on by wearing my intestine as an accessory for nine months.
I also had incisional hernias which were getting worse so my colorectal surgeon encouraged me to go and see a reconstructive plastic surgeon, who said a full abdominoplasty is the way to go. Because its reconstructive im looking at $5000 rather that $15000 which is more the norm here.
I never could have used my familys money for pure vanity as my tummy isnt that baf, but this is ncessary, henc guilt free. And Ive never really considered getting my boobs done because i couldnt see the point without the tummy work. Now as hu by has said, i may as well do it, so will save up and do that later this year. At present, the Tummy Tuck will be in the last week of march.
Im a tad scared. Ive had some truly traumatic surgeries in the last 12 months and have suffered a fair bit of depression at the damage my treatments have done to my body. This is going to be a big and painful one, but i think i will finally feel lime ive kicked cancer's ass!

Why should having a band stop you eating food from different cultures around the world? It doesn't choose what you eat - it is designed to help you feel satisfied with less. I eat italian, chinese, thai, mexican whatever , the band doesn't stop me doing that.
I used to be the world's fastest eater. I was always finished long before everyone else. I also didn't think I would be able to slow down but guess what once you have your band you do and it doesn't bother you because this becomes your new normal. I probably still eat a lot faster than many bandsters I know but It's a lot slower than previously. I finish after the rest of my family, not first.
It is normal to be scared before surgery. But you shouldn't go into it unless you are fully ready. The thing to be aware of is that the things that you are worried about now will not even bother you in a couple of months time.E.G You won't regret not being able to eat a huge meal because you will be satisfied with a small one etc

I actually find a soft poached egg on a slice of toasted wholemeal bread is a really satisfying Breakfast. Mixing Protein and carbs for me is more satisfying than just eating protein. Carbs are not the devil that many people make them out to be and they do have their place in a healthy balanced diet.

Meatballs aren't really mushy.Mushies are things like mashed vegies, tinned fish etc. Meatballs are really dry and hard . Try sucking on crushed ice, if you are swollen it will help to make the swelling go down.

You have been through so much and your strength and focus has understandably been on your children. You have now realised that to be the best you can be for your family you need to look after yourself too - something that a lot of parents forget.
Good luck in achieving your weight loss goals and healthier self and all the best wishes for your son.

Welcome to band world. Where things go creak and squeak and bump in the night ( and the rest of the day too). It is usually at it's loudest when you are in a room with other people and there is a lull in the conversation!

I hadn't realised that eggs were a liquid! They can be a really hard food to eat even when you are not too tight.
You may be too tight but it could just be that you are pushing the limits and not doing what you were told to do. Go back to the liquids and then take the next stage slowly. After a fill you have to get used to it and how to eat again. You may be eating faster than you think etc.

How many people have you spoken to?
How many people are on the sleeve support group as compared to the lapband support group?
How long have they had their bands/sleeves? Probably not too many people that have had a sleeve for 2 or more years.
I have a band , I am 100% happy and I believe myself to be successful.

You have already identified your problem and you already know the answer. Stop eating sliders and go for the correct foods which will fill you up properly and allow you to lose the weight.
It is hard. No one said that it would be easy. You have done wonderfully so far and would be considered to be more successful than the "AVERAGE" bandster. Remember the band is only designed to help you lose 60 - 70% of your excess weight.
Maybe you should give yourself a break for a couple of weeks and by that I don't mean eat anything and everything in sight. Enjoy what you have achieved so far, work at maintaining that and then refocus on losing when you feel you have the energy and committment. It isn't like it is a race. There is no fixed date by when you have to lose the weight, this is for life.

You know I do not think we mean to say things to hurt peoples' feelings. You just do not know the tone of the written word, was in wriiten in anger or trying to make a point that I have been there so here is my experience. People who are new either know everything or are feeling so lost and need to know everything. As someone who is more than 2 years post opt I STILL come here for support and advice. There are a few really nice people who have been banded more than 2 years and they have great advice and can point you in the right direction if you need help. There are a lot of people here and we all are different. I agree we should all be nice. I have had to say sorry a few times myself and it did not kill me. But I think our longeterm Bandsters deserve more respect than what they are given. And I am not talking about me I am still learning.
