    Goal!!!!!!

 It's been 10 months since my surgery. I can't believe it. I met my weight loss goal last month, but I never thought I would be below it! I am skinnier now than I have been since junior high. What a feeling. I must admit, I miss sitting down for a big meal now and then:sad0:, but nothing can replace the thrill I feel when I go shopping with my daughter and try on the same clothes as her! Size 4! Wow! My biggest problem now is maintaining my weight. And I don't mean gaining it back, I mean stop losing. Did I just say that???? I've said it before, but I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!!
  4. For me, it's a balancing act. Old habits could creep in, but I also gained 5lbs on vacation, and once I got home back to my eating plan, I lost it within 6 days. It's weird, and my surgeon told me to expect a 10lb bounce around up and down after I hit my year surgeriversary which is June 3rd. So I kind of see what he is talking about.

  5. My nut recommended 1500-1800 calories a day. Limit white carbs to 80grams, up the protein to 80-100, and stay low fat since I had my stupid gallbladder removed and can't eat full fat stuff anymore. I eat lots of veggies, and pita chips. I am finally able to eat avocados and peanut butter again so I think those healthy fats are helping me maintain. Since February 4th, I've dropped 13lbs. The gallbladder surgery sent me into losing again.I still have amazing restriction, and still eat by the rules 90% of the time, but sometimes I'll eat more potatoes, pasta or rice and some veggies at some meals just because that's what my body is craving. I've gotten over head hunger. I still make the best choice when it comes to snacks, but I splurge a couple times a week.

  6. Hey chickee, I'm 27lbs below goal. My nut increased my carbs, and calories. I have to eat a minimum of 1500 calories on average, and get in about 60-80 grams of carbs per day. If I eat fruit, I go way over that, but I'm still getting in about 60-100grams of protein. It's tough because I still lose a couple here and there. I have to honestly graze now to stop losing. I am even eating white carbs to stop the lose, my body is in overdrive it seems. I even had to quit cardio and heavy working out, and just focus on muscle building.

Congrats on getting to goal. Maintenance is tough for me. I found losing much easier. But, now I just eat whatever I want, and quit stressing over stuff. So, far I'm holding steady around 123lbs. I want to gain back up to about 128-130, but I think my body is comfortable right where it's at.

  7. Hey Rosie! Sorry I haven't been online for months. Congrats on your weight loss. I bet you look great! I have lost 86 lbs. and am 15lbs under my goal. My problem now is how to stop losing and just maintain. NEVER thought that would be an issue! Well, take care and send a hi to your dad for me!

  8. Tiff! WOW! I havent been on in ages! You look awesome! Question for you...one I NEVER thought I would ask anyone...I'm 15lbs under my goal, and I don't WANT to lose anymore, but it is still coming off. What do I do to maintain? OMG...did I really just ask that!? PS just updated my ticker...still can't believe I passed my goal.

Want to track your progress? This is awesome

Hi Tiffany! Haven't posted for a while. New Job, New House, REACHED MY GOAL!!!!! Great site to monitor your progress. Hope everyone looks it over. It is one way to see your progress from all different angles!
  10. Hey Sleeve Sister!

How are you doing! It's been a long time. I saw your picture. You look amazing! I have thought about you a lot. I am so happy for you.

I've lost 96lbs! I can't believe it. I have just about 10lbs more to go. It is amazing that only 9 months ago I weighed about 100lbs more.

I'm so sorry I haven't been in touch. I lost my cell phone which had your number. But we just got a new computer and I can get online again much easier.

Hope to hear from you soon.

    Love Rose

  11. Hello,

I came across a response you put into the low bmi forum. I'm considering VSG with a low bmi of 31. I was just wondering what your experience has been like? Where did you have the procedure? Did you have any complications being such a low bmi? How fast did the weight come off? Do you have a hard time with not being able to eat?

Any insight you could provide would be SOOO appreciated.

Article on people keeping WLS "secret"

I chose not to tell anyone except my son who took me to Mexico. I am also a very private person. I have since told my daughter, and a few co-workers. I don't really care what people think about my choice to have the surgery, I just don't particularly want to be the butt of rumors at work. When people ask me how I've lost all the weight, I choose whether I want to say "low carbs, high protein" or "I had WLS," depending on who asks. Neither is a lie. But if I choose to tell, I do make sure they know it's NOT the band!

    VSG at "low" BMI?

I also had a BMI in the low 30"s and had the sleeve. I am now 6 lbs from goal and never once regretted what I did! I had my surgery in mexico.

Need some opinions - New Hairstyle

Tiff, I've been out of the loop lately, but I LOVE your hair! You look great! I need a new "do" too but I'm a chicken. I am always unhappy with new haircuts. By the way, my daughter also has a huge forehead, so big that her brothers named it! They call it "Glara Mc Fly" Haha
