  1. Whos Great work on the weight loss! You are fantastic! Who will you partner up with next year for the MB? D, Really see about Chicago in 09. HP, you too. It was more fun than I can tell you. Oh, D, the mountain bike is really my old hybrid that I cleaned up and decorated for the MB. It's a Trek, like who knew? Anyway, it's in good shape and the GF bought a mountain bike a few months back. Where she lives is a huge mountain biking park...so we were thinking of giving it a shot. And after riding the MB I can see where some skill building would help our time next year. Happy Wednesday.
  2. My biketh and I just don't have time for each other. Grad school eats more of my time than you'd imagine. If I could fart around while at work and cycle then I'd be able to fit it in like I do hanging out on LBT, but I can't. Last year while I was doing the undergrad work it was easier and less time consuming, it just was. I seriously don't watch TV and play only one night a week. I sometimes ride, but normally I catch up with friends. Going to the gym takes less time. I do plan on hitting the bike next season again like I did last year. Also, getting on my mountain bike has me wanting to explore that too. So I shall do it again. Thine interest in my cycling is endearing.
  3. Heather- You won't lose your band! I just know it. You might need to have a complete unfill so you can heal something. Many folks do that. There are steps between having problems and having it removed... Hang in there an let us know what transpires. Juli
  4. I still found mud in my ear this morning...who knew?! I think that's the last of it! It was so much fun! Can't wait till next year.
  5. D, You just need to plan a week in Chicago for your family vacation next August. Or maybe just a weekend by yourself, to hang with the LBT girls. We'd have a great time. Did you like the updated slide show? I still want to get more pics of Stacy in there....it's pretty fun indeed.
  6. Yeah, I get my BS on the 17th of August, which is super soon. I'll be getting my MBA on Mother's Day next May. I'm one happy woman. I wonder what kind of connection there is to weight loss and returning to school...there has to be one. Like a new attitude that anything is possible?
  7. If you want a good laugh, hit the Muddy Buddy link in my signature and see what I did with my LBT pal Stacy yesterday in Chicago. She's my partner in crime and other silly things. Juli
  8. I've updated the slide show pictures if you want to check them out again. It's linked in my signature.
  9. BTW, if you all did the MB next year, we could be a group of four...dress similar and support each other. D, you'd come to Chicago for it? HP, how about you? Are you interested in running?
  10. www.muddybuddy.com As you can see, I'm farting around with homework. Actually, I'm getting stuff done. Got to go pick up the kiddo. I took today off to travel and get stuff done. Whew. I rode the Mega Bus from here to Chicago. That was an experience. I was on the bus for 8 hours, getting off of it at 6:30 this morning. Ugh! www.megabus.com It wasn't horrible, but I don't see me choosing to do it again soon, at least not overnight!
  11. It doesn't matter how quickly or slowly you let the air out of the ballon, it's never going to be as small as it was before you inflated it. But it's not about how quickly you get to the goal, it's how comfortable, how well you manage the process of getting to the goal fits your life. Good luck.
  12. Good looking fish DD has there D. You get that goal!!!
  13. You ran 3 or 2 miles, one mile at a time so they said. Some miles were longer than others. They had hoses to wash up with, but I didn't get that clean. Hard to pick up your stomach and hose under it a. in a crowd and b. with your clothes on. I exploded dirt and grime in the hotel bathroom. Stacy camped. I don't camp. The shirts same Rome 88 or something like that. They had yellow in them which matched the shorts and tube socks. You two should join us next year. It was a blast indeed! Stacy, I can't open your myspace pics. Help a girl out. I will send you all 109 photos Alison shot asap. Many are redundant but cool non the less.
  14. What happens when you take two women who met on this message board who are both a little crazy and competetive and live with in a few hours of each other? You create some nutty opportunities to Celebrate your new found fitness, even if it's crawling through a mud pit. For your viewing pleasure, OH Juli and Babygrl1234 at the Chicago Muddy Buddy race yesterday August 3rd. 18. Thanks, It was fun. I just couldn't get started with homework until I got this out there. XO everyone. And thanks D for the inspiration for the slide show!

Pun intended.
  20. Juli is just fine. hehehe. BG had the harder part of the race. She was amazing!!! I've just been traveling and it's my finals' week so my head has been in a book as much as possible. I'll post pictures as soon as I can, but like I said I'm studying a lot in the next few days. But soon, promise. But quickly, the ride was rough in spots but the course was mostly dry. There were some "you gotta walk up these hills" and a few "You had better walk down these hills or you will break your neck." The obstacles weren't horrible. The rock wall took me a few times but I did get up and over. The slide was the best it was 20 feet up a rope wall and down an inflatable slide. It was fun. The A frame thing was a challege and the balance beam needs work. But I did them all and there are no pictures to prove it. However there are pictures of the mud, the start and the finish. I'm so happy to have done it and can't wait for next year. Now, I need to read the next few pages...lots of catching up to do to see what BG and the rest of you have been saying!
  21. I head out on the bus Mega Bus that is, not Grey Hound, in 30 minutes. I'm really psyched. My trainer called yesterday and left me the best message about how I've got what it takes to do this...mind over matter and all that encouraging stuff. Stacy and I are going to have a blast to be sure. Can't wait to share with you what we discover about ourselves.
  22. Charles I suppose I'm an old timer at this point as I was banded in 07. Seems like you've gotten an ear full, I won't add to what has been said aside from I eat pretty much everything in moderation. There are few things I don't such as grapes because chewing the skins are a pain in the butt. Skins on peppers, apples and potatoes tend to be tricky. All the simple white carbs go down, but only a bit at a time and they don't fuel me well so I avoid them. I think you find more women than men on this forum because men don't engage in weight loss as much as women and they don't generally need the community support like women do. You'd probably find the same ratios at a Weight Watcher's meeting. Good luck to you, Please use LBT to determine what's right for you.
  23. What they all said. That sounds just completely wrong. It's not a race it's about learning to eat differently in way that will keep you healthy and sane for the rest of your life.
  24. Gwen, Look at you go so close to goal! Thanks for the words of encouragement. I really appreciate them. I have to say I've seen renewed weight loss recently because well, I started behaving like someone who wants to lose weight. Not behaving like someone who was resting on her laurals while at the same time talking like she wasn't. So nice of you to notice. I really do want to get to goal sometime in January. Or where I'm at in January will be goal. LOL. Rock that vacation chica. I have one more hellish week of Finance then I get a week off. We are taking the little one to Disney during that week off. I also took the remaining two days not in Florida off from work, because I want a VACATION. There's a huge wine attached to that!!!!!!!! Have a good weekend everyone. See you on the Marchies' August pages!
  25. LBT- That's no fun, but what more can you do but take care of what needs to be taken care of. Fooey... here's to a speedy recovery! J
