  1. I wondered about that, but it's awful low and I don't have any incisions in that area, so that's why I was worried. It still may be gas. How do you get this stuff out? The gas-x strips aren't cutting it. I feel so bloated!
  2. I was banded yesterday by Dr. Oldham from Georgetown. Had my surgery in Mayfield. They fly in once a month to Jackson Purchase Medical Center.
  3. I am 2 days post-op and have a sharp pain in my lower left side around where my ovary would be down in my pelvis. I think maybe it is gas, but it's been there all day! Anyone experience this??
  4. OH...forgot to tell everyone that GNC has the 100% Whey Protein powder on sale at buy one, get one half off. It's not too bad if you use 1% or skim milk, lots of ice cubes, and a couple teaspoons of splenda in the blender!!
  5. Hello...my name is Christi and I'm from Missouri. I get my band on Friday the 27th. Glad I found this forum, the Febs look like a great bunch of supportive people! I have been on the "low carb" diet for 2 weeks and starving the whole time. Just not enough food that is easy enough to eat! I think I have lost a few lbs., maybe 5 or 6, don't understand why not more. I have to go on clear liquids Thursday, day before surgery. Then Friday is the big day. Not really too nervous, I've read everything I can get my hands on and watched hours of video on youtube of the actual surgery and also from people who have had it. I also have all my post-op food bought. I guess my biggest fear is the fear of failure. What if I get this band, and still want to eat all that yummy junk that I'm used to eating? What if I do good for a while, then go back to my old bad habits? And not really looking forward to excercise either, but I know I have to do it. I really want to look better, so I am up for anything at this point. The way I look at it is...I have tried life this way for long enough and it's just not working for me. Time for a new plan.
  6. Hello everyone! This is my first post and I am scheduled to be banded on Friday, February 27, 2009 which is only 5 days away and I find myself very worried about this liver shrinking thing. The day I went in for my patient education and to see all the different resource people in the office, the nutrionist was out that day. She said that we would get in touch by email to discuss everything, but I don't really remember talking to her. Then Friday Feb. 13th, I had my last day of patient education, and they barely touched on the subject. They just mentioned that we should be trying to shrink the liver, and that there was more information in the big book they gave us. Honestly, this is all it said...that I should be on a diet which is a combination of the Atkins and South Beach Diet...to think meats, cheese, salad, some vegetables, etc. and that for more information to go online. Although I've done pretty well on the low-carb end of the deal, I think I have been eating too much fat, and I didn't know not to, because I have been on Atkins before, and read the book, and it doesn't exactly stress low fat. I called the nutrionist last week because I was worried that I am not doing a very good job, and she just said for me to get the lean cuisine meals. Now I am really worried that I won't get my band this next Friday, because I know I have not done this right. I don't know what to do. I think I will just go on all protein shakes for the next 5 days. Anyone think that will help??
