  1. The shakes make me sick too, since my surgery that is. There is a 15 fl.oz. drink called "Naked" it comes in a variety of flavors for different needs, although there are 3 or 4 that are high in Protein, 30g per 15oz bottle, I am only able to find one and it's called Protein zone; purple cap with a picture of fruit on the front Protein Zone | Naked juice | BevNET.com Product Review + Ordering. Here is what you get inside the protien zone: 2.25 apples, 1 banana, 1/2 orange, hint of coconut, and pineapple, whey and soy protein. Calories per bottle are 220, no added sugar no added artificial sweetners. So your getting your protein and some good fresh nutrition. It is fruity delicious without that disgusting telltale taste of whey or whatever those protien powder mixed drinks taste like. Nothing like it. If you can get 2 bottles down you've got 60 grams. I buy mine at a local supermarket "Stop n Shop". It will be found in the specialty refridgerator drink section or the healthfood section but it has to be refridgerated. I was hoping to find a place online to purchase it but no luck so far. Here is the Naked website: Welcome to Naked Juice *not cheap though a bit over $3.00 per bottle, but since this surgery I don't spend much on food and it's really very good nutrition. If you find a place online to order it please let me know.
  2. I'm eating dense solid protein where and when I can but still it barely comes to 1oz in weight! I'm 1 month and 4 days out. I hope I don't have any obstructions that may be causing me to only be able to eat such small amounts of food. I thought that the sleeve would accomodate at least 3oz.
  3. Thanks Susan, thanks VegasAngel, I do hope that easier will be the case for me. With so little food, I'm just so uptight and worried about getting in enough protein, nutrients and fluid. It's almost impossible and consumes my mind from the moment I awake to the moment I fall asleep.
  4. The thing that frustrates me about great dishes like this is that I'm only able to get about 2 oz. down. I made a home-made soup and had to freeze most of it. I divided some of it up into 4oz portions and left that in my fridge but even they were too large a portion for me to eat! That soup sounds great; makes 4 servings using 4 split chicken breasts, but are any of you able to eat 1 serving? My body just won't let me eat more than a few tsps. and then I know it's time to stop or else.:sad0: I'm not getting enough calories. Even a 1/4 cup would be nice.
  5. I ate pureed baby food fruit ready made in the jars around 2 weeks out. I'm 33 days out.Although I've progressed to some foods, it's only about 2oz. if even, that I can get down. Yesterday I tried a scrambled egg with a bit of muenster cheese melted on top. Although the cheese was Alpine Lace low fat, I couldn't eat it. After the 2nd tiny bite and chew, I realized it was not being received favorably. I ate bits at a time of the egg and halfway through, (strange pains), I had to get my body moving so I left the other half and walked around my apartment for about 20 minutes. I returned to finish the rest of the egg (to get the protein in of a whole egg), (by then cold); pulled off that cheese and finished the egg s l o w l y. I had to get my body moving again but was OK a few minutes later. Maybe melted chewy cheeses are hard to tolerate for a while. I really have to take time and I find it hard to adjust with such tiny amounts of food at any given time. I'm here now though and there is no turning back so I have to take it as it goes and hope that in time I'll be able to enjoy a little more variety, without fear.
  6. I am glad your mother is there for you.
  7. Your right I in no way mean to exclude or offend anyone who is not on my list, I am open to friendship with anyone here who wants to earnestly communicate and share.
  8. I have not been taking the calcium citrate supplements. They are on my list but I thought I could wait. I will try to pick some up tomorrow. Thanks all for this info. I've been taking prilosec at night, since my bouts with reflux were while lying in bed or asleep, I hope that's OK.
  9. I'm not sure if this is the right forum to broach this question, but can someone please tell me how I request friends? It must be under my nose but I just don't see the place to friend request. Thanks.
  10. Ah ha! So that's what that explosive watery poop was about, I had thought it was "par for the course".:bored0:

Tomorrow I'll be 28 days out. Does anyone know if I can eat a fresh tomato? I have a crabmeat spread that would be delicious with tomato.
  13. How can I tell if I'm lactose intolerant?
  14. Thanks for this Tiff. I am really having trouble with taste, texture and smell of "Whey" Protein shakes. I will try this one in Chocolate. I hope I like it as much as you do.
  15. Hi can you tell me what brand of Vitamins you are having good results with for hair/nail growth?? Thanks.
  16. Judy beautiful story. Your husband sounds like a great guy. It is a relief to know you are home now recovering.
  17. Thanks for putting this list of important books together. I really appreciate your effort.
  18. I so appreciate your posting this. I am having a very difficult post surgery adjustment time and although I am hesitant to speak about it as I do not want to discourage anybody, I most definitely need one on one therapy and a support group as well. Can anybody here give me some suggestions of what to look for in a therapist?
  19. *I do usually dilute my fruit juice actually by adding lots of ice...like I did in the hospital. I don't know what "O-Juice" is...are you referring to Orange Juice? If so I'm interested in knowing the answer. I have not yet had OJ. I have lost approx. 17lbs. since 9/16. Pre op I took of 15 on a whey shake diet 4 weeks prior to my surgery 9/15. Therefore in 20 days I have lost approx. 17lbs. This rapid weight loss I pray is temporary as I am eager to shed the excess, this is too fast a pace for me so I welcome the calories I get from drinking fresh 100% natural fruit juices.
  20. The only thing I could tolerate post surgery was 100% apple juice. My surgeon was more than happy and told me to keep drinking that and water if it was all I could take. He also told me that unlike other weight loss surgeries, the real sugar is not an issue for the sleeve. Of course if you are not wanting those carbs and don't mind artificial sweetner then that's another story. I personally have been drinking vitamin water not the 10 cal. one. Apple, cranberry, juice and water. I am losing weight so fast that it scares me. Point is that the little bit of carbs I get from the natural fruit juice doesn't seem to be slowing down weight loss.

    Good question!
  22. My hiatal hernia was repaired too. I had never before the surgery had acid reflux. I just don't know what to think. If I only could know that this too shall pass, but I've read so many cases where people must take medications to manage this. Thanks for sharing your experience and I'm soooooo glad you are not in discomfort. God bless.
