  1. Hi Patty, I wanted to see how you were doing? Did you have slippage on your band? I am so sorry I have not written, it seems like the days are flying by. I am doing ok but have hit a big stand still. I found outthat chips and dip go through the band quite well and with all the cookouts we go to I have had a struggle. I am down about 31 lbs but it is so frustrating. I need to get back on track. Please let me know how you are. You have been in my prayers. Kara
  2. Hi pvtash61, I wanted to check in and see how things are going with the plateau that you hit. I am in exactly the same boat. I think I am eating around the band. I hope that you are doing well. It really helpe me to see the tips adn comments on this post and hope that everyone is well.
  3. Hi Summertime! Congratulations 42lbs is great! I am down 25 lbs. I am struggling to find my sweet spot and having trouble getting food stuck. I have had it happen several times where I PB and throw up for a few hours. Hopefully I will find the sweet spot soon. Keep up the good work!
  4. Hi Julie, The reason you may not feel anything now is that they can't get all the air out of the band during surgery. There is a little bit left. When they do your first fill the saline displaces that small amount of air and you may not feel like you had a fill in 7-10 days. That is what my doctor said to me. I am at the same point and have my second fill scheduled for April 7th. Hope this helps. Kara
  5. Hi Sharon, I feel exactly like you do. French Fries and bread get stuck so bad. I also feel like my upper stomach is stretched. I got my first fill on March 9th. I felt great nad was doing well for about 10 days and then that full feeling left me. I seem to be able to eat so much more. The doctor said that this may happne and I have another appointment for a fill on April 7th. I hope that everyone is doing well. Slow on my end but I am still down.
  6. Hi Everyone, Has anyone gotten something stuck and thrown up? I had this happen Sunday night. My fault, I was a the neighbors for dinner and did not chew my meat properly. My concern is that I hurt something with the band. It hurt so badly in my esophogus for about 30 minutes. I am going to mention it to the doctor, but curious if anyone else had this happen to them?
  7. Hang in there Sharon. It has been tough on my end also. You are not alone. Please reach out when you need support/help.
  8. Happy one month to eveyrone also. That did fly by. Congrats on the fill Colorado. You are doing great! I have my first fill on the 9th. I started exercising on Saturday. I have been doing the elliptical for 30 mins every day. It seems to be fine. No crunches yet. Keep up the good work everyone!
  9. Hope, I am getting my first fill on March 9th also. I wanted to thank everyone for sharing their fill experiences. I am not nervous at all. I hope everyone is doing well. I am holding steady (no gain/loss) but it is difficult as I do not feel any restriction. Have a great evening! Kara
  10. Hi Everyone, Happy Valentines Day! It sounds like you are all doing well. I have a question for you all. I had chicken tonight and meatloaf last night. I had about 4oz each time and did not feel full. Are any of you having the saem issue, I see that some of you said that you have not been feeling restriction. My doctor won't give me a fill for three more weeks and I am trying to not think about stretching out my stomach too much or the band slipping. I am so nervous about stretching out my stomach. I am also trying to stay positive. I have only taken off 1.5 lbs since the surgery. It is a total of 12 lbs but it is taking so long. I am not unrealistic but it seems so slow. Thanks again for all of you. Reading all of your posts adn having your support has been invaluable. Thanks!
  11. Sharon, Hang in there. I am struggling with the weight loss also. I only lost .5 lbs this week and it is frustrating when you have changed your eating habits so much. I spoke with my Dr today. They said for the first 6 weeks focus on healing and eating soft foods. Make sure that you get your Protein in and watch the carbs. They said once we get a fill we will feel the restriction. If the constipation gets really bad try Milk of Magnesia. The doctor recommended that to me and it worked. Good luck this week!
  12. Summer, I am not feeling any restriction either. I spoke with my Dr's office today. They said that I should focus on my stomach healing fo rthe first 6 weeks. These weeks are going to be the toughest but they sadi to get plenty of protein, keep the carbs low and drink lots of water. I won't have a fill until week 6. Hang in there and stay stron. I also log my food in thedailyplate. It helps.
  13. Hi Heather, I did not have a bun. I ate my sons hot dog that he did not want and he is not a bun kind of kid I have not tried to get any bread down but from what I have been hearing bread is difficult to get down. Kara
  14. Julie, I got that pain earlier today. I felt like I could not breathe. I had to take a couple of sips of water to help get the food through. It was awful. I ate some tuna and I must not have chewed it properly.
  15. Amy, I am feeling the same way. I ate an entire hotdog tonight. It was not the end of the world to have that but I was surprised I did not feel any restruction. I did chew the heck out of it. Hang in there! I can't wait until my first fill also.
