  1. I must have heard her wrong. It's February 25th. Even closer!
  2. I FINALLY got my date. I swear it has been a long journey. February 28th.
  3. Congratulations on your surgery and new life! I wish you much success!
  4. Walter, did you not lose all your weight? I've seen people lose a lot with the sleeve and some not enough.
  5. I do not know the lady, nor do I know her medical history or any comorbidities. I'm very worried about dumping and vitamin deficiencies. Thank you for your input. It gives me more thinking to do and consulting with my Dr again.
  6. I'm near the end of my journey to get the gastric sleeve. I should have learned my date by now, so probably any day now. My Dr initially wanted to do duodenal switch and if not the gastric bypass, because I have recent history with pain in my stomach, controlled with ppi's. I told him I would not consider either, only gastric sleeve. Now I'm having second thoughts. I'm scared of the gastric bypass due to a friends friend dying from complications. I do have a small hiatal hernia they need to repair. I'm afraid IF I decided to go with the gastric bypass, I will have to wait longer. I'm wondering if insurance would need another approval to do the GB? It say approval states the GS. Any help appreciated!
  7. I had to do 5 nutrition appts. My first one immediately after my first visit, then once a month for 4 months. I did blood work, ekg, Dr letter confirming support amd a psych evaluation, which I paid cash for, because medicare was so hard to find a Dr through. You are right about the advantage plans carrying bariatric surgery. They have to cover it. I'm on disability and very happy they cover it, as my insurance nor my husbands never covered it.
  8. I was finished with my last nutrition on Nov 20th. It took them 4 weeks to send 4 approval and it was approved the same day. Another 4 weeks and and I'm still waiting for a call to get my date. I got a questionnaire from the hospital about 9 days ago, so I'm hoping Amy day now. Where are you at with yours? I started this over 7 months ago and was told by the Dr my surgery would be the end of December or early January. At this point, when I get the call it will be another 4 week wait, so maybe March? Good luck I hope you don't have to wait much longer!
  9. Yes. Its hard to wait. Been approved for a month now. Waiting on a date. It will come and go before we realize it. Best wishes.
  10. I have AARp. A lot of hoops to jump through, but I'm almost to surgery.
  11. You look great! Good job!
  12. You may have reflux. It can mimic hunger. Ask your Dr, you can take medication for it. Good luck!
  13. Va va voom! You look great!
  14. Honestly, who says such a thing? Sorry for the op just looking for support. You're fine and will find your way. It's early on. Take care!
  15. How inspiring! You look great!
  16. I'm sorry! Hope you feel better soon!
  17. I have not had surgery yet, but very soon. I was told by my nutritionist that I will habe an appointment with a person before surgery that will be strictly about medication. She told me I will have to do chewable vitamins for 30 days and crush my pills for 30 days as well. I will have to have one of xr pills switched.
  18. I'm so jealous you live in Montreal. My mother was born there and I've never been there. We will be visiting in the next 3 years. I thought my surgery would be mid January, but with all the holidays, it looks like I will be a February sleever as well. Best wishes on your upcoming surgery!
  19. Yes. It's from surgery. While I haven't had the sleeve just yet, I've had 3 abdominal surgeries sbf its caused from the air they inflate your stomach with. I've had the same pain as well. I would try icing it and heat to see which might work best. Hope you feel better soon!
  20. Congrats! Honestly it will come and fly by and you will be on your way to successful weight loss! My coordinator said mid January to beginning Feb. Best of luck!
  21. So jealous! Congrats and best wishes!
  22. I'm in the same boat right now. Tomorrow is 2 weeks. I'm calling insurance again tomorrow!
  23. O M G! You look like a totally different person! You look amazing! Good work!
  24. You are a beautiful lady, I bet when you meet the new "you" she will be smoking hot! Best wishes!
  25. I literally do not like anything SF, so it is possible. My surgery is coming up and I have a plan to use honey, only slight amount, as I don't like really sweet drinks. I will transition to a small amount of frozen fruit. You can do it with some small tweaks. Best wishes!
