  1. Congrats to you! I get so excited when I hear someone else getting this done.
  2. Will go there and check it out. Thanks
  3. I don't measure anymore either. I eat until I start to get that kind of full feeling. Sometimes I can eat more and sometimes not as much as earlier. I love this band! It is a great tool and I wish I had it done a long time ago.
  4. I have a 10cc band and when I went for my first fill they put 1 cc in but found out there was some already in it. Hopomone that would explain why I already had some. This has been a wonderful tool because I actually stop eating when I get the full feeling which I didn't before.
  5. I like to try and find single servings of protein in case I don't like the taste and then don't feel like I have wasted 20-40 $. Did try the JR Strawberry and liked it alot but the only other flavors the Vitamin Shoppe had as a single serving was dreamiscle and chocolate and I have plenty of chocolate. Unfortunately I don't like dreamiscles or cream in my coffee, I know I am strange. Wish the pina colada had been in stock - will have to go back and check it out again. GNC has cookies and cream and non flavored whey protein which are pretty good to me.
  6. I tried Isopure in different flavors too and still have one bottle in the frig but just can't stand the thought of drinking it because the after taste is to say the least is very...I got some Cookies n Cream Whey protein at GNC and it is pretty good. I mix Vanilla with Slenda coffe flavors (mocha, umm) and I like that too. I also add Benefiber to each one (or store brand as it is pretty much the same thing). Got to keep regular.
  7. I told my DH I was going to have a little bumble bee tat on my ankle to show I can "bee" whatever I want to be. Cheesy I know. Oh yeah I have a pair of red capri pants I want to get into.
  8. Congrats!!! You have started on a great journey.
  9. Trust me it will get better. I am still having pain on the left side where the port is I think but walking around and taking the pain medicine will help alot. Mine is getting better each day. If you don't have any GasX chewables or strips then get some it will help alot too. Oh, don't do any situps!
  10. You are a little brother to me too. Now if you are over 6 foot then you would really fit into my family. I am only 5'1" but the rest of the "kids" are 6' (sister) and 3 brothers who range from 6'1 to 6'11". Go figure and no we didn't have a milkman.
  11. I hit the wrong the wrong key. Anyway, I am now taking the pain medicine if I need it there is nothing wrong in admitting that I hurt and it helps. Seriously though the GasX really has helped me.
  12. Welcome "lil brother. I made sure I have my GasX chewables are ready to take to work tomorrow. I do have the liquid Hydrocodone too but trying to go easy on it. Crazy I
  13. I had jello earlier & chicken broth and boy did that taste sooo good. Also sipped on a protein drink with some Benefiber in it - decided I needed to add that to my diet too. I was having some serious shoulder pain from gas and pain from my Hiatal Hernia repair and had to break down and take some pain medicine.
  14. I am 5'1" and just had mine done. I have always had a hard time losing weight in general but being vertically challenged made it harder to me, more compact.
  15. I am trying to drink but I am so afraid of drinking too much and having pain I am sipping all day long. Still having gas pain but plan on going back to work tomorrow. I know I will be moving slower than normal and normal for me is light speed at work.
  16. We're triplets! I had mine done 5/1 too. I also had a small hernia and have the chest pain from it but it's not too bad. Went shopping this afternoon and feel pretty good but a little tired. What a trip we have started on and I know I am excited. Good luck everyone!
  17. Well I am now BANDED!! Did have to take the pain medicine a couple of times last night but it's getting better. Yahooo!
  18. I cannot believe it but I am on for tomorrow!! I got the approval from the cardiologist and my heart is good. It is such a good thing that I am getting this done because while I got a good report on my heart I was also told that I am now offically a diabetic. I said well as long as that part is good I can concentrate on getting the rest of me in good health. Yahoo I'm on my way:laugh:
  19. I have been good since then so I think all is well. I have not beaten myself up about it. Thanks for all of your support.
  20. Grapevine chimming in!! I was originally scheduled for 4/17 but had to reschedule for May 1st!
  21. Thanks all. I didn't beat myself up too much as I know it wasn't a huge slip but was worried it might have caused a problem with surgery and I want this so bad that it wasn't hard to get back on track. Had a moment of weakness but so over it.
  22. I was originally scheduled for my LB for 4/17 but due to a medical issue it has been rescheduled for 5/1 which makes me 3 weeks up until now on the pre-op diet (which is not a bad one) and have one more week to go. We went camping this weekend with some friends who makes a wild margarita and I felt (no logic here) that they were liquids it was ok to have a couple (they were small ones) and one small dinner roll. Now I feel really guilty about it. Has anyone else done this and if so did it mess up anything. I have been faithful to the diet but am worried it will cause a problem. Ok I have guilt issues.
  23. I know the feeling of starting the pre-op. I have been on mine for 3 weeks now since my 1st surgery date was delayed until 5/1. Hang in there is does get better and it will be well worth it. As vayiayia said, "just keep well hydrated".
  24. I have tried to go without mine but I wake myself up snoring or snorting trying to catch my breath. I have used mine for so long that I can roll over several times during the night and flip the hose along with me. He says it is funny watching me sometimes. At lease he can't understand what I say when I talk in my sleep. :crying: Have faith about the approval. I hate having to wait on other people to make a decision about my health and life. You will be right on my heels.
  25. Ditto on the apnea machine. When we go rving I have to take it with me, my DH teases me by saying I look like an alien at night. You will be surprised at how fast the time will fly by trust me. I don't mind at all, it is nice to have someone who is doing the same thing to live a longer better life.
